This had way more story than I was ready for lol.

Drama 2

I see why the ending was so controversial, but it combined so many elements of other movies and shows I enjoyed in a very interesting way. Maybe not the most novel show but a damn fun ride.

Drama 3

I haven't even seen the original Yanxi Palace and I could see how badly this show had been "Netflixified".

No forced heteromance?  Say it ain't so!

70% Love Story, 30% Court Enemies

Love everything about it EXCEPT the ML and the main couple's romance.

I don't even know why I rated this so high.  I enjoyed it A LOT and the music was awesome, but it's not without flaws.  Still, it's just so damn cute that a lower rating feels wrong lol.

Drama 8

In my haste to finish the 2024 goal, race Netflix, AND finally wrap up WSIWN? 2, I picked another short drama.  Had I paid attention and noticed that I was watching the edited version and not the original...I recommend the original.  Not terrible, not phenomenal, a nice little time killer.  I'll watch the original cut at some point.

Is watching a short film cheating?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  It's my list lol.

Movie 2

OK yes I partly watched because it's another short but also I haven't watched nearly enough LGBTQ+ content and I can feel my queer soul withering away from the deprivation.  Also, cute GL.  Need I say more?

The reason it's a 9 and not a 10 is because it felt like watching a music video and not a short - story would've been just fine without it (or only just a little).

Movie 3

Excuse you I didn't give you permission to play with my feelings like that.  Semi-related I think I said 'Fuuuuuuck' or 'God damn!' out loud at least seven times.  I definitely wish I had seen this sooner as most of the hype from Kingdom has worn off after all this time.

Movie 4

Is it possible to create a perfect Tomie adaptation?  Unlikely.  But the actress did a pretty good job nailing her facial expressions.  And while predictable I did enjoy the "twist" ending.

I didn't finish in one sitting so my viewing experience was neither cohesive nor coherent.  That said, it was a fun first step into this particular genre and time period.

The terrible special effects were a huge turn off.  I think it would have worked better in drama format than as a movie.
