[BAHAMAS]
Here's a few of my fave old-school Rake-and-Scrape songs by Eddie Minnis:
[Naughty Johnny] Funny story about a boy that accidentally burns down his Mom's house. :D
[The Buffet] Another funny story, about a buffet attended by people from different countries, and how Bahamians LOVE to eat. :D
[Nassau People] This one always makes me chuckle - it's about the island that I'm from (which is the capital), and it's extremely accurate. We had to have bars on all our windows and doors, a gun in the house, and multiple dogs in the yard for protection.
- Tief = Thief/Thieving, Steal/Stealing
[Granny Flyin'] Another really funny one, about the days when it wasn't uncommon to find "square groupers" (bales of marijuana) floating in the water or washed up on the shore. The story - two boys find some washed up on the beach and sneak it into their grandma's pipe. :P
[Show & Tell] A political one, about corruption in the government.
- MP = Member of Parliament
- PM = Prime Minister (at the time it was Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling)
- Party = referring the the PLP (Progressive Liberal Party)
- Fox Hill = Nassau's prison
