Baili Jing Hong is the ambitious ruler of the State of Xia Tang. In order to gain more power and secure his reign, he decides to form an alliance with the nomadic tribes of the Northern Lands and invites Crown Prince Lü Gui Chen as a hostage-guest in his court.
