Captivating drama

This drama is so good that I had to sign up on my drama list to let people know this master piece. When I’m writing this review, 2 episodes are still remaining before the end of the drama but I hope it’s gonna be a happy ending (probably). I only watch drama with happy endings and almost never watch on going drama but I couldn’t resist after the edits I’ve seen on TikTok. Anyways, I usually am never duped by the stories and end up not being surprised when plots twists appear. This time I WASN’T disappointed the plots twists were soooo good I had to pause the drama and scream how good this was. Highly recommended drama, coming from a picky watcher. ENJOY IT!

OFF THE CHART LEAD CHARACTER CHEMISTRY

What is this? What exactly was this? The chemistry between the leads was too real and I was not READY! I am telling you that those kisses were too HOT for a Cdrama and I was not prepared. How dare this come without a warning lol.

I am so accustomed to the lil pecks they call kissing that I wasn’t ready. The story line was also fun, a little predictable as I already had an idea who the villain was (and I was correct) and already know who the guy in black was. That hat and mask wasn’t fooling anyone besides the female lead. That was hilarious. No way you cannot tell your man from a distance from the back let alone he was all up in her face and space with a hat and Covid mask and she can’t tell. DNKM. Was well put together YOUKU just might and I mean might get my .99c for the continuation.

Le nanar romantique de l'été...

Prendre de l'eau dans la bouche et faire boire son/sa partenaire, c'est aussi dégoûtant que de partager une brosse à dents. Il faut vraiment arrêter avec ça ! Maintenant que c'est dit…

C'est le drama de l'été. Celui qui s'est un peu trop prit au sérieux et qui tombe dans les dramas clichés et ridicules, peut-être même des plaisirs coupables pour certains. Comme mentionné, à mes yeux, c'est un nanar. À titre d'exemple, je considère Hidden Love comme un navet, parce que je l'ai trouvé fade et ennuyeux. En revanche, Embrace in the Dark Night est un nanar, parce qu'il est drôle et distrayant malgré lui. J'aime les nanars (de monstres), mais je n'ai pas le souvenir d'avoir essayé la romance. Et bien, c'est un nouveau cap plutôt particulier.

Je ne connaissais aucun des deux acteurs principaux. Fang Jin est une belle femme, mais il lui manque vraiment des expressions et de la gestuelle pour donner vie à son personnage. Elle ressemblait davantage à une poupée de chiffon, quand elle n'avait pas l'air d'être fixée à une planche de bois. Wen Xi est d'une stupidité aberrante qui ne semble pas vouloir remettre en question ses plans foireux.

Ren Yun Jie est très grand et bel homme. Malgré tout, il lui manque un peu de charme pour créer l'illusion afin de donner plus de corps à son personnage qui devient rapidement une caricature. Cependant, même si leurs personnages respectifs sont horribles, ils s'en sortent bien et savent un minimum, jouer la comédie.

Côté couple, et bien comme toute l'action a pour but de créer un contact physique entre FL et ML, on peut dire que ça fonctionne, même si la romance est plutôt agressive. Pas dans le sens violent (quoique parfois ML balade un peu trop FL), mais toutes les scènes sont bonnes pour nous rappeler qu'ils vont finir ensemble. De cette façon, je pense que les scénaristes ont fait en sorte que la majorité des scènes s'approchent des tendances couple des réseaux sociaux. C'est malin, car cela va créer de l'engagement et clairement, c'est un drama parfaitement adapté aux réseaux sociaux. Le couple connaît une importante différence de taille (1m60/65 vs 1m87), au point que j'avais de la compassion pour eux lorsqu'ils se regardaient.

Dans le fil de discussion, quelqu'un disait que ce drama avait tellement d'intrigues, qu'il serait possible d'en faire plusieurs séries. Et c'est vrai ! Il se passe toujours quelque chose au point d'en devenir ridicule. C'est une pagaille interminable où le seul but est d'obtenir un rapprochement physique des personnages, même s'ils sont en danger. Ou de secourir FL qui a encore pensé que son plan (foireux) fonctionnerait cette fois-ci, mais non, toujours pas ma jolie, et maintenant, il faut la sauver (et la porter).

En bref, y'a rien de très bon là-dedans, mais j'ai adoré la façon dont il m'a tiré des rires quand je ne m'y attendais pas. Absurde et incohérent de bout en bout, c'est un nanar qui obtient presque la moyenne, parce qu'il faut bien l'avouer, j'ai (beaucoup) ri.

Simultaneously good and bad

So for a short drama there are parts of this that are genuinely impressive — the cinematography is good, the sound mixing fits the vibes, and I admit...some steamy scenes were great and a breath of fresh air from the cutesiness that c-dramas usually stick to.

With that being said, it felt somewhat overdone. I lost count of how many times the ML kabedonned our FL or pinned her wrists down, and because the drama WAS so short, I felt like we really needed to just cut some of the kiss scenes and just work on the plot more.

There are moments where the story jumps around; it's not crazy and you can still follow the overarching plot (which is actually quite solid and needed more screentime), but I was still left feeling confused as to when we got from Point A to Point B.

The acting is also inconsistent. There are some very impressive moments, like a particular crying scene for our ML. But every single character feels a little stiff at some point and the dubbing doesn't help at all.

it's my first time writing a review so please coperate with my complicated writing. 🫠

things I liked about the show :
ofc! the chemistry was super good so I liked everytime their was a steamy scene and they played the ost 😭😭😭 ohhhh I got so many butterflies in my stomach everytime it happened but the moment it ended I started questioning myself what am I doing lol bcs there was no great plot it was just straight up Wattpad story but i still loved it bcs of 3 reasons

1- ML
2- short and sweet (only 15 min eps)
3- so Wattpad coded lol


if you're looking for a great plot and deep cdramas so it's not for you but it also does have a very good storyline it's just missing something 🫢

Este é um daqueles dramas que entretém, e que é bom, mas definitivamente não é um dos melhores que assisti. A história é muito boa, principalmente toda a trama sobre a irmã da protagonista e a sua busca pela verdade acerca da sua morte. Apesar de ter gostado muito dessa fase do drama, não entendi o porque dele ter começado com um história e depois ter mudado para outra história. Tipo, primeiramente estávamos naquele contexto em que a protagonista havia sido sequestrada e o ML era o seu "protetor". Porém depois a história virou outra, com ela buscando saber sobre a morte da irmã, em um cenário e contexto completamente diferente. Pareceu que eu estava vendo dois dramas diferentes e um não tinha relação nenhuma com o outro. Apesar disso, acho que as duas fases foram boas no quesito história.
A atuação, não achei ruim. Não é a melhor de todas, mas também não é péssima.
Já quando falamos dos personagens... Primeiramente, gostaria de dizer que não entendi como depois de ser sequestrada e colocada pra assistir uma luta de um monte de macho em troca do seu corpo, a protagonista continuou com aquela expressão plena. Além disso, ela e o protagonista estavam sendo vigiados o tempo todo e ela simplesmente estava tranquila, como se nada estivesse acontecendo. Não entendi isso.
Sobre o ML, achei ele bastante tóxico, mesmo que, depois da minha experiência com dramas republicanos, já ter visto coisa pior. Às vezes, ao assistir as cenas, me perguntava se estava vendo uma versão asiática de Cinquenta tons de cinza, com um protagonista estilo Cristian Grey, ou lendo uma fanfic de dark romance (não que seja ruim) O homem só sabia empurrar a mulher na parede e amarrar ela. Não sei se isso é tão romântico quanto deveria parecer, apesar dos beijos serem legais. Além da falta de comunicação, é claro, que parece ser uma regra nos dramas.
A OST realmente elevou o nível do drama, fiquei completamente apaixonada pelas músicas e pelo fato delas realmente combinarem com a atmosfera do drama.
Por fim, após o final, acho que ficou bem óbvio que há a possibilidade de uma continuação e apesar de todos os pontos negativos que citei, adoraria ver até onde isso vai. Ah, e também gostaria de ver os atores em outros dramas. Só espero que, se resolverem fazer uma continuação, que o protagonista melhore um pouco seu comportamento e que tudo seja um pouco menos confuso.

Great Cdrama ever

Well this drama was a rollercoaster. But I would call this drama a dark romance story straight Outta Wattpad.
The story is good, cinematography is also good ✨ but actors lacking in acting skills . They lack so much in expressing their feelings. Like, female lead is just there without any expressions. A little more expressions and acting skills would've made this drama even more better.
I also think this drama lack a little bit of logic. There are few things in their storyline that lack so much logic. they could've shown with more logic than just doing it in a dumb way.

Let's talk about characters now.
FL- her acting skills lack so much. But let's give it an applause for the chemistry and tension with the ML. Her character isn't one of those typical FLs where she's just sooo " oh hero pls save me my prince charming, I'm weak and fragile ", but she's not " that's how it's done love " type of girl either. She's not that smart but not that dumb either.

ML- this guy!! I think he played his role pretty well with all those dark and morally grey vibes. All the fighting scenes were awesome. A little bit logic with his actions would've been great😂

Overall it's a nice Cdrama I've ever watched till now in romance department. Romantic Scenes and chemistry is on point!! I'll probably re-watch it!!
