Don't watch this series or you will be sleeping
The first episode of the Thai series “My Love Mix-Up” is out and sets a fun tone for the high-school romantic comedy starring Fourth Nattawat Jirochtikul and Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak as leads Atom and Kongthap. It starts with Atom narrating a school legend about how writing down your crush’s name on an eraser can manifest into a real relationship. This is a small deviation from the original series, which features a mix-up over an eraser without any legend attached. Atom has a crush on the cute Mudmee (Pahn Pathitta Pornchumroenrut), but when she lends him her eraser with Kongthap’s name on it, it leads to hilarious consequences, as Kongthap thinks Atom has a crush on him.Directed by Au Kornprom Niyomsil, the Thai show is based on the Japanese manga by Wataru Hinekure and Aruko. There’s already a very popular Japanese version of “My Love Mix-Up!” (Kieta Hatsukoi – 消えた初恋 ) featuring Mishieda Shunsuke and Meguro Ren as the lead pair. While the first episode of the Thai series isn’t as funny as its Japanese counterpart, it’s still cute and entertaining. Besides, the writers slip in several small changes in the plot so that viewers who’ve already seen or read the Japanese versions will have something new to look forward to.
Fourth Nattawat Jirochtikul, who plays Atom, gives the role his own interpretation, which is endearing but not as comedic as Michieda Shunsuke’s portrayal of the lead character. Fourth has a natural confidence in his body language that doesn’t completely match Atom’s confused, silly personality. Kongthap’s character is more straightforward; he is an introverted, serious, top student, so Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak has an easier time slipping into the character’s skin. While Fourth definitely emerged as the stronger actor in their debut series “My School President”, round one of “My Love Mix-Up” goes to Gemini.
A lot of the dilution of the comical mood in the first episode is due to the choice of background music, with the creators using staple tunes that GMMTV shows have used in other productions. While some of the music blends well with the story, much of it does little to enhance the mood. episode one was a trash watch and makes you dont want to watch the rest of the show. I cannot believe they replaced the dog character with a cat! I do like cats, but c’mon, Mametaru the dog in Kieta Hatsukoi was the cutest thing about it. I will not get over it.

Totally Mixed Ip
I don’t have a lot to say other than this was meant for a much younger audience. This project was not Gemini and Fourth’s best. It was lacking in depth and the kissing scenes sucked. I’m sorry but if you take a BL role you need to go all in. My School President was so much better. Gem and Fourth are good actors but these roles did nothing for them. It didn’t stretch their capabilities. You can have a good light hearted comedy along with some in depth acting. I forced myself to finish because that’s how I am. On to better things Gem and Fourth.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
THEY MUST BE JOKING…
i know too many people will be angry what i have to say about this Thai Bl but i will say few things that i didn’t liked . first there is too much ads . i know GMMTV has to make money but you can’t just shove every product in my face every 5 seconds. the main story was twisted and they created something? new version of their own story ? idk . that female lead. her name starts with M . ohh she needs to go away from that 2 friends of her . girl you don’t need such a toxic and stupid friends . meanwhile all the actors were great . coming out scenes were good . ( i cried ) soo idk it’s production that i don’t really enjoyed? too much products on screen. it was literally 5 minutes before ending and they still put something in those 5 minutes. bfr no one is here to watch what GMMTV has to sell .Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Don't waste your time on this one and watch the Japanese adaptation instead
Before writing my review, I need to make things clear (which I shouldn’t have to do but fans are so delusional these days that they would argue the tiny bit of things and make you a hater): I love Gemini and Fourth. As an on-screen couple, but also as artists. I don’t consider myself a fan as I’m not really listening to their songs and don’t intend to watch their “straight” series, as I mostly watch BL, but I still love their personalities and follow them on social media. I love their acting (especially Fourth) and their singing (in My School President specifically as I said that I don’t listen to their songs). I should also add that I absolutely love the Japanese adaptation of the manga and have read the manga. But it’s been a few years now and I totally forgot about the manga (not the drama, though, as I watched it several times already). That being said, I can write my review and, oh boy, this series was bad… Not bad as it hurt my eyes watching it and I forced myself to finish it (*kofkof* My Only Boo! *kofkof*), but bad as I watched it once, it was not good, so I’m not going to watch it again. And don’t get me wrong! I was so happy and excited when they first announced that they were going to make a Thai adaptation with Gemini and Fourth, but maybe it was because I expected too much of them that I now feel very disappointed.
And yet, unlike a lot of people, I actually liked the first episode. I was really happy with this first episode, so when the second episode came out, I was still excited about this series. But this second episode signed the end of my enjoyment for this series and the beginning of my disappointment that would not end (even though, some episodes were better than others). Yes, I’m talking about the infamous episode of the Cinderella… musical… I'm not going to repeat what I've already said in the comment section but this episode was awful with all those unnecessary changes. Atom not dressing up as Cinderella, totally erasing the sacrifice that Aoki makes for one of his classmates. The fact that the two class presidents totally dismissed Mudmee's feelings by forcing her to play the role, even though she clearly stated that she had stage fright. Transforming the play into a freaking musical just for the sake of seeing Gemini and Fourth sing. A musical that is - by the way - made for whom exactly? Because no parents were in the theatre and the room was half filled with students. And I would add that one of the part was less than 4 minutes, which was hilariously ridiculous (and, for once, a lot of people complained about it in the YT comments).
And I'm kind of sick of those people defending those changes based on poor political arguments that are quickly and strongly getting on my nerves. The change of the young teacher's character, for example. I've read a lot of comments praising the fact that it was good that they changed the "homophobic" teacher into a gay one. How is it good exactly? Because you're erasing a very important message and a pretty good character's growth from the story. This arc showed that some people are ignorant about certain things and that with a little bit of communication and understanding, those people can change for the better. But no. Now, we can't see homophobia on screen - it is too much for the viewers who are becoming more and more little fragile snowflakes -, even though it still exists today. And by the way, the teacher was never a homophobe - but a very prejudiced person - as he would probably not have changed opinions that quickly.
Furthermore, a lot of people argued the fact that we don’t like the series just because the manga was adapted for a Thai audience so it will obviously be different from the Japanese original material. But… Cherry Magic was also adapted for a Thai audience and it did really well and most of the people loved this adaptation. So why is it not the same for this adaptation? Can someone dare to explain? Because my explanation is easy: the director of Cherry Magic understood the original story and characters and adapted the story with minor changes (or changes that didn’t damage the original plotline of the story). While this director (even though I loved his previous work as a director) doesn’t understand a thing about the story and even less about the characters… To him, it was just an excuse to do a My School President n°2 without really doing a second season to this series. That’s why we have a musical instead of a play, a lot of musical numbers, endless references about this series and even a cameo of the band Chinzilla… And the worse thing is that people love that just because they love My School President but… This series is NOT My School President! This is My Love Mix-Up! And the two series shouldn’t be made the same way because this is not the same story! Imagine if we had references to previous work that Tay and New did together as a couple in Cherry Magic. It would’ve been ridiculous… Although, I’m pretty sure the fans that absolutely like and defend this series would have also loved those references…
The other thing people bring up when they want to defend this series is that it is following the manga and is going to include the whole story unlike the Japanese drama. However… I may not remember much about the manga but I’m pretty sure the Japanese drama was way more faithful to the manga than this Thai adaptation. Ok, they only did about half of the manga, but at least the first part was very faithful to it (minus a few changes that didn’t change the original plotline of the story – see my comment above). This Thai version has way too many changes and not the best one at that! So what's your excuse for that? I'm just a hater?...
I would also add that there were way too many adverts and they were absolutely not very well included into the story. I'm just going to refer to the final episode (as it is the most recent one) but the cat food advert literally shocked me. The fact that Kongthap blatantly said that the cat hates everybody, even him, but it makes exceptions only for the cat food was ridiculous beyond belief. And I've seen my share of ridiculous product placement...
Anyway, I'm glad that this series have ended and I really really REALLY hope that Ossan's Love is not going to be the same. I've heard it is the same director so I hope he won't destroyed this adaptation as well. At least, we won't have My School President's references as the main leads are Earth and Mix. But I'm afraid he's going to use A Tale of a Thousand Stars as he was an assistant director to this series (hope Aof won't let him do it!).

Disappointment as Gem & 4 fan
I need to start off by saying that I am a fan of the lead actors, and I tried to watch the series for as far as I can. However, on the contrary to the other series, I ended up dropping this show to watch others, and only returned to it when I ran out of other shows to watch. The music is good - I really like the songs. My main problem is the script / writing. I know Kongthap supposed to be this robotic dude who doesnt really process emotion so well, but his character was sooooooo flat for a 12 eps drama especially without a clear background of the character. Atom is the carry of the show, but even Fourth's cuteness couldnt really save it. I ended up getting super annoyed by the on-screen chemistry between the two that i would rather see 12 hours of the two being together off screen than the show itself to be honest.
As a long-time Thai BL fans, i have gotten used to product placement already. However, i also must say that the level of product placemenf on this show took us back to the level Thai BL series was 4 years ago... Im frankly not sure why they decided to sink this low when Gem4 is already quite a pair?
I still would love to see more of these two, but I kind of hope that they are in better hands. Perhaps Tee Bundit or New Siwaj would can bring out more from these two...

wasn’t that bad to me
so to begin, I’ve never watched the Japanese version, read the manga or even knew much about this except that Atom had a crush on the girl at first. It wasn’t perfect, but still enjoyable in my opinion.
What I liked :
- one of my fav thing is definitely the friendship between Atom and Mudmee. I loved watching this chaotic duo and their relationship. they were good friends to each other too and supported each other.
- Half and Mudmee : first time I was actually invested in a straight couple in a BL drama. they were funny and cute. The episode with her family cracked me up ahah it was hilarious when her mom slapped the dad and he was like “mother like daughter” and remembered Mudmee’s slap. The kiss during the play was awkward though, it was so obvious their lips weren’t even touching. they shouldn’t have included that, a kiss on the cheek could have worked. Don’t know if it was the director or the actors, but even less sure because of how the kisses were with the BL couple too. Anyway, not important. To finish, from what I get, they are newbies actors, I was surprised, they were good.
- I actually like the ost
- the acting wasn’t the best from Fourth and Gemini, but Fourth did scene good scenes with his acting
- Supportive moms
- I liked the teacher, the plot twist of him dating a man and not being an asshole ahah
- No break up or angst
- I laughed a lot, less in the last few eps, but still. This was a pretty funny and light watch. I had some good laughs
- wasn’t bothered by the cringe
- the chemistry between Fourth and Gemini was for sure not has good as in My school president of Moolight Chicken, but we could still feel it with their eyes or smiles, …
- absolutely no annoying love triangle
so now, what went wrong :
- boring at time and the writing could have been better. Like the scene of Gemini (don’t remember how to write the character’s name ahah) birthday, they could have made it more romantic or I don’t know…
- the chemistry was a bit lacking
- I know they are high scholars, but maybe I would have wanted more for their relationship or romance. I don’t mean a big passionate kiss, but maybe a little much skin ship or something, to look more like a couple. At the beginning of their dating phase, there was an ep I was like “they look like friends and not a couple”
- the kisses were bad. Press lips or Fourth trying to kiss and Gemini with press lips. It was awkward to say the least, again instead could have give some cheek kisses or forehead kiss. Also some weird angle. Wondering if it’s like this the director actually wanted it. The first kiss, I was like okay I get it, but I thought it would get better. The kiss in My school president was actually not bad, don’t know what happened.
- Gemini’s character was a bit stiff ?
- not much backstory for the characters ?
- omg, a very important point, SO MANY products placement, it was too much
- not the best acting we’ve scene from them
- why did Atom came out for them to Gemini’s mom about their relationship?
- sometimes the music wasn’t good
- At first I liked the Chinzilla appearance (felt nostalgic), but after some thinking, they shouldn’t have had this
So anyway, I think this BL got so much hate and it’s not as bad as some people say it is, I don’t regret watching

I definitely wanted to stop this drama after 6th episode...I'm getting annoyed at EVERYONE Like wth is happening...
why are you guys so dense and you guys are trying to be funny but you aren't ....
like fourth and Gemini are great actors and have a funny personality but this script is trash
and what's with the kissing like they know how to kiss and still what was that
I was watching at 2x and 4x at times.
too cringe for me I stayed because of Gemini fourth like I pushed through it....
I hope they get better dramas with good script like this isnt it...
I won't recommend
but still I would say there were lots of scenes where I loved the acting of the cast where they were being serious and like normal human being even some comical scenes which is proof that they are great actors it's the script that's not the best.....

Was this Remake Worth the Effort??
“My Love Mix-Up!” is a youthful romance that begins with a comic misunderstanding.Based on a Japanese manga, the plot follows high school student Atom (Fourth Nattawat) who has a crush on his classmate Mudmee (Pahn Pathitta). One day, he borrows her eraser and sees the name of their classmate, Kongthap (Gemini Norawit), written on it. They have a superstitious belief that if you write the name of your crush on an eraser and use it, your love would be reciprocated. Matters become complicated when Kongthap sees the eraser with Atom, and in order to protect Mudmee, Atom falsely says that the eraser belongs to him. This leads to the titular love mix-up as Kongthap assumes Atom has feelings for him.

Disappointing Remake
I am a fan of the original manga. I also watched the Japanese drama. Both were entertaining, so when I heard it was being remade in Thailand, I was really looking forward to it, especially since it would feature my favorite duo, Gemini and Fourth! I thought these two would be a perfect fit for "My Love Mix-Up!".However, after watching this drama, I regret to say that it didn’t suit them at all. In fact, the characters didn’t match them, which was quite surprising.
I understand that since it's based on a manga, the overall acting tends to be exaggerated, but Atom was overly exaggerated, and Kottap was completely unreadable. While Gemini and Fourth are known for their high acting skills, these roles just didn’t fit them at all.
That being said, Madmee and Half were amazing! Especially Madmee!!! She truly shone with a refreshing vibrance like a piece of fruit. She was perfect for her role!
The storyline of the drama followed the original work, but there were some modifications here and there. Since it seemed like the manga was simply adapted into a drama, the transition of Atom's feelings, from a misunderstanding to truly falling in love with Kottap, as well as Kottap, who didn’t know love, gradually falling for Atom, was portrayed too superficially. The drama needed to delve deeper into these parts to convincingly show why the two really fell in love.
For example, even if they fell in love easily, it would have been better if there were more scenes showing them deepening their bond as lovers afterward. The drama felt shallow, like a simple adaptation of the manga, and overall, it was disappointing.
I hope Gemini and Fourth will appear in an original Thai production rather than a remake. I still want to see more of them and their various performances.

Prepare to be at least a bit disappointed
As someone who has watched Kieta Hatsukoi, I'm disappointedI'm a big fan of Geminifourth,I especially loved them in MLC and they were good in MSP too but in MLMU,just where did we go wrong?
Let me be honest. If it weren't for the cast I would have dropped it halfway through. But in my personal opinion, this story received a little too much hate. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't good. I understand why some people dislike it tho,way too much ads, annoying product placements, poor character writing.
Halfmudmee were the most enjoyable part of this show to me. And let me tell you that this was the reason why I stayed watching the show. They're probably the only straight couple I'm gonna like in my entire life. Was rooting for Thapatom too but Halfmudmee stole my heart. Hope Chokun and Pahn get to work together again. I also think GMMTV needs to give Gemfourth better roles instead of highschool stories all the time. They've grown up now and I would love to see them again in a drama with an actual good story
Overall this drama is nothing groundbreaking but it's cute. I don't recommend watching if your a fan of Gem4

Boring, too many awkward advertisements
I believe Gemini and Fourth are good actors, but this series wasted their talents for real. The storyline is boring, many scenes are too cringey, and the very obvious advertisements that were put in so many scenes just made it worse. It's one of the worst GMMTV series. I guess this series got a quite high rating here just because GemFourth is popular.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
