Practically lives from the chemistry of OhmLeng.
OK... I've sat one hour, I've cried, I've contemplated, I've stared at the wall whilst thinking until I've gotten a headache and I have come to the conclusion... that was very boring for me.Two things I really liked were OhmLeng and the orange car, and that says something, because I am generally not a person who has a thing for cars at all ... and I mean at all!
Everything starts out great. I loved how they met and that entire kidnapping idea. Then there was the relationship. Everything went so clichéd, a bit of family drama, a little police investigation, jealousy... blah blah blah. Everyone and everything was perfectly familiar. To the point of boredom. Was there a climax to this series? I must have missed it. Maybe it was the kidnapping of Q (um,again...what?)! No, no, maybe it was when Q reconciled with his father! Maybe not. The plot is so flat I couldn't tell when to peak my interest.
Story - It had potential. There were even a few parts I internally squealed at in hopeful anticipation. But whatever potential it did have was hopelessly squandered.
Acting/Cast - А slight shrug...It's the best thing about the series.
Music - Nice try, but just nothing memorable.
Rewatch Value - Never, never again.
Overall..not a great experience.

The best romantic bl
I love the series, even though the budget and production is low but the actors are doing a good job. Leng is still but ohm professionalism compliments him. I love them, you guys should keep it hopefully next series will have a good budget . Kidnap is one of those unique bl that you can actually relate with, I find it very comforting and lovely. I can't wait to watch rest of the episode.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
only reason i'm still watching is for ohm
i went into this with a very different idea of how it would be executed. honestly i know that Ohm is a really good actor, so i wasn't expecting to be this disappointed 😭 the idea is really good, and i think they could develop a lot more on Q's childish character due to the fact that he may have had a majority of his childhood taken away from him, and when he finally has someone who cares for him like family would, he clings to them (i'm talking about min).i think personally, i don't like shows that focus on the romance more than the main plot. GMMTV really fell off in the past two years and the last shows i really liked from them were Not Me and Bad Buddy. or maybe its just that they're not making shows my type, but all the shows they're making have the same cliche scenes and similar plot lines - one character has a traumatic past and meets other character who makes them open up and then they both fall in love.
overall, the scriptwriting is actually pretty good compared to the quality of the show, but there are some really weird lines. idk how to say it but something about this show is just not good. the acting, i feel, especially leng's, doesn't match the romantic scenes. they do well in other ones but they just look like 🙂 the entirety of the romance scenes. the 6th episode looks kind of better but i'm so close to quitting this show because i want them to focus more on the whole drug trafficking, bribery, and gang plot more than the romance, but ig the show is just not made for that 🥲

Adequate Not Mind Blowing
This is the simplest of stories and oh so predictable.I am not an OhmNanon fan because though I loved Bad Buddy and Ohm's chemistry with Nanon as a whole. I don't get their fanbase being so into them as a ship because Ohm is a serial shipper. He has never worked with the same actor more than once aside from Toey (MAKE IT RIGHT and its sequels) and Nanon if you count Vice Versa and Our Skyy 2. But Vice Versa wasnt their BL per se. That was technically JIMMYSEA.
In 2019 Ohm did a move called Dew The Movie in which his partner was Nont and I loved the movie though it was sad.
Make it Right came before Dew The Movie.
He went on to He's Coming To Me with Singto (also 2019) The Shipper (2020) and then Bad Buddy (2021) and sorta reunited with Nanon for Vice Versa (2022) and Our Skyy 2 (Bad Buddy Revisit) so technically they did work together again before the epic blowout that quickly ended their "ship" or whatever.
Then Ohm went non BL with 10 Years Ticket, Double Savage, Wednesday Club and My Precious.
And that brings us to OhmLeng and Kidnap: The Series his foray back to BL. Do they have chemistry (sure) Ohm has no problem with chemistry in most cases but the story is lackluster for me but it's not terrible. A non high school, non university BL is good. Yet I won't ship OhmLeng until they do at least 1 more series playing different characters like other GMMTV ships like EARTHMIX, JIMMYSEA, PONDPHUWIN, GEMINIFOURTH and so on.
Ohm is a serial partner switcher and has chemistry with all his past partners and it's no different with Leng but will it continue or does a slew of non BL series follow again. Either way Ohm is always watchable.
Not much of a review for Kidnap The Series so I'll conclude with this. Sure it's worth the watch at least once,

Storyline
I was mad on Bls when I first started watching them butthe story's are starting to be repetitive in other words the same storylines. Kidnap I watched because I like Ohm. I wish they would give him meatier roles. He's got the making of being a really good actor and should be given a chance to show how good he is and his new partner Leng is also really good. I first watched him in bad buddy with Nanon.. a great series. Im enjoying
this series so far.

What will you sacrifice to make your loved ones happy?
What might be important to know:* This is not an action/crime series.
Yes, there are some action scenes. And yes, there is a crime ring, drug smuggling and a murder case. But it's not at the centre of the plot. The main characters are even only marginally involved -- but the crime sub plot majorly influences certain reactions and decisions.
* This is not (only) a fluffy rom-com.
Actually, after the meet-cute and the scenes when Min folows Q in episode 1 and the preview for epiosde 2, I was convinced that this would be a shallow rom-com full of tropes and over-the-top Thai humour.
It IS very fluffy at times, very cute, with two soft boys who fall deeply in love with each other. But it is not only that.
In its core, the drama explores a much deeper question: How much will you sacrifice for the people you love?
Will you sacrifice your money, your health, your prospects in life? Your life itself? Will you do things you would never do otherwise? Will you sacrifice your own happiness?
And are these sacrifices you make -- are they the right choices? Will they make the other person happy?
I love how these questions are slowly asked and how they are answered differently over the course of the series. Both Min and Q search for the right way to achieve happiness for their loved ones -- with twists and turns, with laughter and tears. As the audience, we get to slowly learn about their lives and history, what made them who they are now and how traumatic events in their lives have shaped their views.
The script is well-written in that regard, there are no dragging parts, and the events of the present and the past are told in a way that they make a cohesive hole.
There are several inconsistencies, both in the writing and the executio. Just to mention some of the most obvious: the scene in front of Q's house in episode 7 would have had more impact if the actors hadn't swapped places for the close-ups, which brought me out of the immersion into an extremely emotional scene. I don't understand why Min's bedroom was restored to its original state after Min had taken care to rearrange everything in episode 2. Also, Min was shown as speaking English very badly (ep. 1), but later, he has no problems with instructing tourists at the surfing school.
One major flaw in the writing is the character of "James". I think he should have been two characters -- because he both has connections to the criminal underground (which are never explained nor explored, and Yada or indeed anyone else doesn't even really seem to know or notice him) and he is this good friend and mentor for Min with connections in the film industry, who is supposed to be extremely likeable and trustworthy? It would not have been hard to write a second character for the criminal connected side (another stuntman, maybe?), and keep James for the rest.
Mhen was unfortunately a bit bland as a character, he was never able to become more than "little brother who is ill and loves his older brother very much" -- and though Ohm Thipakorn obviously tried his best, he was not able to give his character much more colour. (Also, how does he get a heart transplant that quickly?)
Throughout the series, it's never clear how much time has passed, so that some scenes seem to happen very fast after another, when it's probably not the case -- a flaw a lot of Thai BLs seem to share.
But I can overlook these flaws because of the story-telling, the main theme of the drama, the solid technical execution -- and the acting. Both Ohm Pawat and Leng Thanaphon are very convincing in their roles. They were able to make me feel with their characters, to be immersed in their story and to believe their emotions.
Leng surprised me, because I was a bit sceptical if a rookie would be able to portray a character that is at odds with himself and with the world -- and indeed, especially in the beginning, when Q is trying to show one kind of emotions to the outside, while he has opposite emotions on the inside, Leng reaches his limits fast. In his defense, these scenes would have been a challenge for more experienced actors, too.
Overall, I find, again, that it's best to follow a drama's story without preconceptions about what it "should" be, but instead listen to what the writer, the director and the actors are showing us -- and here, they showed us a story about how traumatic experiences can shape your world. They showed us a story about about devotion, about love between parent and child, between brothers, between lovers and what it means to make another person truly happy.

Crisp, Fresh and Intriguing.
Really love the pacing of the show. The actors are acting, the cinematography is breath-taking, the chemistrying is natural, bg score is very good, plot is whacky but intriguing. Over-all , a very solid start. We have a legit plot from a gmm bl this time lol. I love all the characters so far. They have done a very good job at establishing these characters in just 2 eps without giving away all at once. Most importantly we have Ohm Pawat Chittsawangdee working his magic (I really missed this guy on my screen). The first 2 eps are clear winner in my book. The writer and the director seem to have done their honework on the medical conditions they will be dealing with in the show. I am really liking it so far. The story has a good flow, getting immediately to the point and not beating around the bush. Fast paced and crisp without any cringe-worthy fillers. I hope people will give this show a fair chance because it really deserves it. Also, the comic timing in this show is very good. The jokes land which rarely happens in gmm bls. One more thing I really liked about this show is it showed us the class divide between Min and Q without having the characters utter preachy monologues. I might adjust the rating as we go furtherinto the show as it is a gmm show and disappointment is almost inevitable. For now though Kidnap is a winner for me.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Romantic Novel
Personally I think it’s okay to have your opinions but bashing the series because it doesn’t suit you, not so smart of you. I think all of you with the bad reviews are just haters and are blind to talents. I don’t blame you all I mean what did we expect, I’m just glad that regards of all the bad reviews, the series is moving forward and going to different countries. Incase you don’t know we trended in 54 countries and more. So fuck all your opinions.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Romanticization of Abuse, Crime, Kidnapping and Stockholm Syndrome
The boys are extremely gorgeous and handsome, it's hard to stop looking at them.A sweet poison with cute and funny moments "hiding" dangerous toxic messages in plain sight.
The show twists the Kidnapper/Victim plot into an intriguing and entertaining Partners in Crime plot.
Min is a double faced red flag. He's kind, sweet and protective of his loved ones but he can also be a violent thug that resorts to crime and dirty money.
Entertaining, intriguing, sweet, dangerous and morally questionable.
Turn off your brain, enjoy and perpetuate the toxic messages that shape our society.

Really good writing going into waste
The plot is good. From what I can tell by now anyway. The script is really good imo. I really like it it's just that I had a problem with how they executed the comedy (it's not exactly comedy as much as sarcastic humour) part. Even tho it was written well the actors couldn't pull it off. They were too intense. Also the aspect ratio (I think that's how you call it) makes the series look so intense that when they have a soft or just a relaxing moment it doesn't feel relaxing.Acting is so stiff. Ohm is good (duh) but sometimes too intense that you feel like serious Min is a different Min from the regular Min. Iygwim. Leng is a beginner and he really did his best but imo beginners need easier or side roles as a first role so they get comfortable in front of the camera. He is good at the anger and kinda at the fear but failed with the sassy part of his character. His character acts like a spoiled brat but he can't pull it off which kinda ruins the balance carefully written for the character.
Editing is a mess. Why did they put a romantic background music when Min tells Q to not trust anyone? That literally doesn't make sense. As soon as Min headlocks Q there should be an intense, scary music not a romantic one. This is the moment that I decided to drop the show.
Another thing that bothered me so much was how bright it was even in intense moments. I couldn't get into the story at all cause it's so bright so I don't get scared or worried about the character. It's just like how you won't be scared to watch a scary movie at daytime compare to nighttime.
I went into it not expecting much so I'm not like extremely disappointed or anything. I just dropped it cause of the stuff I listed above.
