It's more about family, friendship and long lasting love rather than a typical romantic drama
Finally finished this kdrama and as much as I enjoyed it, was greatly disappointed with the ending. No spoilers, but how they tidied it up was sweet enough, but it could of done with a couple of more episodes to really give the story the happy ending we all wanted. In the end I was routing for the second couple's (best friend and single dad) happily ever after more than the male and female leads. I think they wasted a few episodes just with each other's exes. Also not being confident enough to speak up about how they felt about each other. They danced around that for a couple of episodes too. They have supposedly known each other for 30 years, how can they be so unaware of their feelings. The saving grace was the supporting cast. Loved the families and friends. Loved their relationship with their kids and each other. Especially loved the Lavender girls. It showed that long lasting friendships may have their difficulties but overall their love and dedication spans the decades. Maybe that is what we should get from this series. Not a romcom, but a beautifully acted and written kdrama about love in all it's forms and how it can whether whatever trials and tribulations that can come their way.
Overall it is worth a watch just for watching those dynamic relationships. If you want a childhood friendship to adult love, romantic kdrama, watch Fight for My Way, this kdrama is so much better at portraying this theme.

Close to Perfect
This drama was as close to perfect as you can get. It was laugh out loud funny, pulled at your heartstrings, and just felt smart. The leads had amazing chemistry and excellent banter. I truly believed that they were childhood besties who had grown slightly estranged because one of them had developed a massive yet poorly timed crush. The family dynamics felt very real and like many Korean families I know, from the types of expectations they have for their kids to the way they can bottle up emotions until they become explosive to the love and guilt and hopes they cherish for each other. The story really nailed all of the friendships, too - for both the parents and the children. There was a lot of affectionate arguing (which is extremely common in Korean households), the type where familiarity breeds affectionate insults (which could have been translated better, IMO, thank you Netflix) as well as unintended slights. It felt consistent in its themes and wrapped most everything up with a soft set of final episodes. I couldn't be happier!Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
seems likes a promising drama!
I just finished episode one and I must say it looks pretty promising. The premise following two childhood friends reunion which some fun things happening along the way. For episode one I think everything was set up well for this series and the cast is doing a wonderful job currently. I don’t have many big complaints for episode one, but the one thing I must say I’m worried about is if it will stay as promising throughout the whole show. Mostly because it’s a light hearted drama and I’ve been finding many rom-coms to get lackluster in the end of it’s running. But I’m going to try to ignore that and keep watching because of cast. So hopefully it doesn’t fall short of anyone’s expectations including my own.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

It's a great show, but could be better
I really enjoyed watching this show, Jung Haein and Jung Somin acting got me on a chokehold since the beginning, but the story was slightly meh, I wish we could've seen more of Seokryu traumas to understand the depth of her last relationship and her sickness as a traumatic event, you could interpret her actions through that, but not really understand how much it took a hit on her emotional sometimes, like when she rejected Seunghyo many times because of how her last relationship ended and thinking she would be a burden if she was sick, you could interpret it, but it would be better if they showed it better. Overall it's a great show and I would recommend it to everyone, the cast did an amazing acting, it's what got me going until the end.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Healing and Realistic
To be honest, I expected it to be fun and light all throughout but fortunately it’s not. This drama will show you that life is not always unicorns and rainbows, we have to face pain, storms and struggles in life. The darkness in life can’t be avoided but it will become bearable with the right people around you, it became less of a problem if there’s someone who will carry it with you. And I guess that’s the gist of this drama. You are not alone and there are people who care, love and willing to join you in any phases of life. I have to give it a high rating because of what it made me feel, it really hits me to the core. I hope you will feel the same way like I did and will made you realize something.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Love Next Door is not a serial; it is an emotion. From the very first episode, it clutches at your heart and never lets go. What starts as a soft and silent saga of love and friendship turns into a heavy, emotional, and heartfelt journey pretty quickly, for which I was not prepared.
Love Next Door did something that few series have: really moved me. There were plenty of times it'd leave me grinning from ear to ear, and others literally crying my eyes out. Every episode felt just about perfectly balanced, complete with its amount of warmth and heartache, to keep me fully engrossed in the lives of the characters.
But, personally, what truly resonated with me in this series was the exploration of love in its various forms: romantic, familial, and friendship. It's not all about romance, per se, but about the connections you make, the choices you have to make within that, and the emotional weight you carry through it all. The authenticity of the storytelling was such that the characters' struggles and triumphs felt so real you couldn't help but get emotionally invested.
It is a shock when Love Next Door touches the heart unexpectedly, and there are moments that brought tears, not because of sadness but because it was just so beautiful. It's one of those shows that stays with you for a long time after it's finished, reminding you of the power of love in all its messy gorgeous glory.
If anything can be guaranteed to swing you with its mood and emotion, leaving you thinking long after it has ended, then Love Next Door is your series. It's not just a show; it's an experience.

so far … I LOVE IT SO MUCH !
the main leads are so likeable. their chemistry is amazing. i love watching so-min and hae-in’s kdramas ! i also love the childhood besties trope, with the “i hate you, you’re annoying” facade and + “he fell first then she fell but he’s head over heels for her” AHAHAHA it’s so obvious he likes her. i think deep down inside, she likes him too but she doesn’t wanna ruin the friendship. i love the bestie mo-eum and i’m excited to see what happens in her storyline. oh and FYI i cried in episode two ?Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Childhood to Adult
There were spots or scenarios where the writers could have been more creative with this version of Friends to Lovers. The major surprise midway with the FL and her previous boyfriend was done well because I would never want my daughter to stay with someone who stayed with me primarily out of guilt or pity even though he seemed to think he loved her. They could have dove into more on why young adults make choices based on their parent's dreams instead of theirs. All characters did well especially the mothers. They are so funny as long-time friends and when they fight you will take sides because it's so believable. The ML and FL are absolutely perfect from the standpoint of chemistry, fit, and how they slowly acknowledge their love for each other that had been there for a long time but avoided or didn't understand their feelings. Love this drama!Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Different emotions while watching
So far I’m loving it , it’s only on Episode 8 and I’ve already laughed, cried, gotten angry and felt almost every emotion I can think of. I’m excited to keep watching this drama. The chemistry the 2 main leads have is off the charts, you can tell they get along very well in real life. I also love the 2nd lead couple they’re both really funny.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
