An Endearing Romcom with Intriguing Characters
This show was so endearing, not just the storyline but also the characters!“Love Next Door” quickly became my weekend fixation, the “Friends to Lover’s” trope doesn’t offer anything new. It has been overused so much, that you might wonder if this show is worth your time. Answering this question- Yes, it is. The enormous casting offers different plotlines, starting from our protagonists who have been next door neighbors and childhood friends forever. At times, it is the near ones that we take for granted. It is the same with Bae Seok Ryu, who has never considered the possibility of falling in love with her “FRIEND” Choi Seung Hyo. Jung Hae In & Jung So Min have the kind of indescribable chemistry which you get to see rarely; they embodied the nuances of their noisy, preposterous selves. The show is a light romcom which lays emphasis not just on the main leads but the strong friendship between their mother’s group. Friendship is the theme throughout; it could be our main protagonists and their own or the “Lavender” group who have been friends for almost 40 years.

The only thing I hate: waiting a week for the next 2 ep
Nothing to say, this drama so far is just refreshing and has the potential to be drama of the year or even more.I just want to point out one thing: for all the people annoyed and bored by the scene where the mother is beating and being upset over the FL quitting the job and her engagement, I think you should know the basic info and cultural beliefs of a country before speaking.
This kinda of behaviour may seem odd and overreacting to your prospective but I think 99% of people saying it are not Korean. For sure that can be a little exaggerated (ps: it’s a drama, it’s supposed to not be bland) but that is how it works in Korea, you need to find a good paying job and a good partner to marry then you’re settle for life.
The other mother’s reaction says it all, parents raise you up since you were born so they expect to see their child to have a good and healthy life as an adult.
It’s not the first and it will not be the last drama that portrays Korean parents and their cultural beliefs like that so before blasting on the drama and who wrote the script like this, try to understand other culture’s differences.

FROM FRIENDS TO LOVERS
This drama beautifully balances humour, romance, and some deeply emotional moments. The story revolves around the lives of three childhood friends, Bae Seok-ryu, Choi Seung-hyo, and Jung Mo-eum, with their relationships and family dynamics at the heart of it all. Each character is compelling in their own way, especially Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo, whose chaotic but charming relationship drives much of the plot. What I really enjoyed about this drama is how naturally the characters interact with each other, whether it's the hilarious bickering between Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo or the quieter, more tender moments. Despite their teasing, you can feel the depth of their friendship, and it’s so heartwarming to see them always showing up for one another during tough times.
On the professional front, both Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo deal with challenges at work, and the way the drama portrays their struggles, along with their personal issues, makes everything feel grounded. There’s this recurring theme of facing one’s past, and it’s beautifully woven into the characters’ development.
The soundtrack isn’t overly catchy but complements the emotional undertones well, adding to the overall atmosphere of the drama. While there are plenty of heartfelt moments, the show doesn't shy away from humor, making it a joy to watch from start to finish.

Really 9.5????? Why
This is one the worst drama 2024 for me, she is one of my favourite actress but this character is nosense, i really dont like all the decisions she brought from the first to last episode. Is really waste time for me. The main character i like, but she is selfish, at first sight i think to have found an amazing drama, but from ep 7 to ending was very difficult do not drop the drama. She is the one of best actress in korea, give her better character!!!!!!!!!!! I love her From playfull kiss. ???Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
why I don't do friends to lovers
Eh...the friends to lovers trope isn't my cup of tea so majority of this was tedious to get through. There were cute moments but there were too many scenes that dragged out far too long. Cut all the unnescessary stuff and this might've became 12 episodes. The ending was underwhelming and we were robbed of seeing an offical wedding. There were characters I enjoyed--Moem and Danho stole the show for me. Why were they not mains?? Their storyline was way more interesting. Yeondu is painfully adorable. The drunk antics from the dads were laughter inducing lol. The main couple was just fine. I wasn't convinced of their chemistry and the constant bickering got on my nerves. Seeing Jung Hae In in a rom com was nice but I think I prefer him in more serious roles. Just get together already and roll the credits! Themes like the ripple effect and family showing up for each other were done well but a lot of slice-of-life dramas do this well so nothing unique here.
All in all, this was ok. noting more. I def liked this more the longer things played out but I'd never rewatch.

Unimpressive, just another melo-rom-com
I was too sleepy to watch the final episode on the night it came out (last night), so I just finished it this morning. The fact that I chose to sleep rather than watching the finale, meant that it's not that great for me.
If only I waited until it finishes airing, I probably would binge watch it with a lot of fast forwarding.
The story is quite predictable, and the romance part once they got together is too childish. Come on, one is supposed to be a successful CEO, and the other was also a mature adult with years of experience abroad.

bickering friends into lovers?
I've watched lots of childhood friends become lovers dramas, but this drama impressed me because they bicker a lot and it's entertaining. It tells about Bae Seok Ryu, who was working in the US, coming back secretly to Korea to tell her family that she quit her job and canceled her marriage. From the first 4 episodes, I could tell that she has been hard on herself and has experienced terrible stuff in both work and relationships. It was Choi Seung Hyo, a childhood friend, who gave her the motivation she needed to start over in Korea. We will discover who has been in love with whom longest and since when in the meantime, along with those fleeting moments of spark that have occurred since they were young.

Lots of marketing for little delivery!
Lots of marketing for little delivery! Before this series premiered, they did huge marketing! I started watching, but it didn't captivate me enough for me to continue, the main couple is simply boring, without any chemistry, I even thought they were two children, what boring characters! Only the secondary couple that stood out in the series, their performance was incredible, but I stopped watching because overall the series didn't captivate me, I had a lot of expectations for this series, but it's a really bad series!___________

kdramas’s back.
It’s been a while since a kdrama’s given me butterflies in my tummy. The lead couple give me those. Such a simple story of finding ourselves, rediscovering ourselves so beautifully told. I can’t wait for the next saturday to come. It’s nothing unpredictable, even though i can guess what’s coming next… i still get so excited when it does come up. They’ve done an excellent job at the execution. it just flows. Absolutely in love with the couple, ep. 4 just filled me with this giddy feeling.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
