Pure romcom, lighthearted bubble of joy! Great for laughs!
The last time I was this happy watching romcom was 2 years ago with Gaus Electronic. When you see this drama, the first thought you have will be that this is too absurd, and that's why I came to watch it. I looked for laughs and I got them until my mouth felt sore from laughing XDWhen it came to the plot, I thought there wasn't one. But as it goes to the ending, turns out they packed everything into this 10-ep drama. The way they packed it was funny, but it was solid nonetheless. The main character healed their inner child, and I felt like they healed mine too, a little. It successfully made me immersed in the story despite there being no extreme events in it, which other drama usually compensates with crime solving (murder etc.) That's why the story is 10/10.
The rewatch value is straight 10/10 just because it makes me laugh so much! I can see myself going back to watch this regularly so I can laugh!
As for acting, to be honest I thought romcoms don't really need good acting because of how indoctrinated I am for watching cdrama saying that. But! Good acting is important! I really like that both Lee Junyoung and Pyo Yejin is good actors, hence they were able to act out their expression to the fullest, yet not overdo it. I especially like how Lee Junyoung portrays Moon Chamin, because he always manages to bring out Chamin's innermost feelings straight to the face. Just by seeing his face, I feel like I know what's going on in his mind, and what feeling he currently has. So the acting/cast score is 10/10 for me. You need good acting even for a romcom, don't look down on romcom!
As for music, my favorite is Gist-Charms. I like the lyrics "You have 24 charms, how can I not love you?" I think it sums up the story, of how people fall in love because of each other charms. I feel like that also describes my love for this drama. This drama is just that charming for me. There's also another track that I think hasn't been released, and it also sounds good. That's why I'll be generous here and give it 10/10!
So to summarize, this drama gets 10/10 score for me!

YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY!
The best way to describe this show is “seriously unserious” - in the best way. Truth be told, I actually tried watching the show once before, dropped it, and gave it a 1-star rating. I think I was just not in the mood for it at the time. I started it again on a whim, and what d’you know? I quite enjoyed it. It’s far from perfect - there could’ve been more emotional development (alas, it’s only about 39 minutes of actual show time for each of the 10 episodes compared to the standard 1-hour each for 16 episodes), the secondary characters could’ve been developed more/better e.g. SML and SFL (I’ll blame this again on the limited screen time), etc. But overall, it was a good time well spent on the show - the lead’s had very nice, believable skinship and chemistry; the emotional development and scenes they did show were done very well; the self-aware tropeyness and simultaneous subversion of tropes was refreshing; etc. I loved the message. I think the show could’ve done without the moments of fatphobia towards the stepsister (e.g. pig noises in episode 1??). Luckily, I think the most glaring ones were relegated to episode 1 and her relationship with the female lead was touching overall.I think this show will be polarizing - you’ll either enjoy it or you won’t, the slapsticky humour will either work for you or it won’t, you’ll either be in the mood for it or you won’t. If possible, if you’re in the right mood for it, I’d suggest bingeing the episodes as some episodes may not work for you on different days if your mood isn’t in the right space.
I hope this non-spoilery review helps potential viewers decide if this show is for them or not! ?

CLICHE, UNSERIOUS but GOLD
Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale is SOOO SOOO unserious. It is filled with cliches but it's gold. 10 episodes, 40 ish mins duration and still they managed to make so much happen. The story surprisingly has, depth?I'd say some of the episodes are cringe so don't expect a very extraordinary drama. Watch this to fill your time, or just watch it for no reason! the story imo kicked off from episode 4-5 onwards.
The FL, Shin Jae Rim, is the Cinderella in this case. Obviously, she was born into a poor family and obviously her dad remarries and now she has a step-mother, and two step-sisters. The part that I really liked, is her step-family ACTUALLY cares for her which is new to the cinderella story. After her dad passes away, they treat her the same. Her step-mother is caring and sees Jae Rim as her own child. However, at first, I didn't think Hwa Jin, one of the step-sisters, liked FL. Soo Jin, the other sister, definitely likes FL but Hwa Jin was a bit rude. Later I learned it's just normal sibling dynamics. They care for each other and they fight each other. Back to the FL, Jae Rim wants to marry a rich man, and be Cinderella. She has some internal conflicts and there's times where she faces prejudice for being poor.
Pyo Ye Jin's acting was really good. :) I wish she got offered more main roles.
ML, Moon Cha Min, was chaotic and like a child at first. But suddenly, episode 5 onwards, he somewhat matured out of nowhere. Now he's like a childish adult. Usually, rich ceo male leads are cold but he wasn't really cold to anyone. Obviously, since he's the rich ceo ML, he has trauma that sparked from his rough childhood. Also, it took me more than halfway through the drama to realise his name is literally Charming. Prince Charming, Cha Min. Also good thing this guy has more romance roles cause WOAH, he serves with his kiss scenes. "I'm holding back and it isn't easy." - Moon Cha Min.
Lee Jun Young's visuals are so chefs kiss. His acting is also good from what I've seen here. I haven't really seen him in any other roles yet, but I've heard of his upcoming projects and he has many upcoming main roles!
We meet the SFL, Ban Dan A. Bandana?? Anyway, obviously she's the obnoxious SFL, who throws a tantrum if she doesn't get her way. The marriage is for convenience though, but she was hiding real feelings for him. Her family consists of weird kidnapper thugs.
Now, the SML. I hated him here, but loved him in My Sweet Mobster LOL. At first, I was swayed by him and his face card. he was so bold too, with his words. but he turned out to be jerk but then became good again after FL treated him with respect? idk, man he's interesting. We also got revealed some of his backstory for about like 3 seconds. I think he used to be poor before he became rich?
for the romance, it's pretty solid. but many, many misunderstandings and missed communication cues but oh well.
Something I definitely wasn't expecting to see is Salon Drip's Jang Do Yeon. Salon Drip is one of my favourite korean tv shows!!
Also there were some taxi driver references.
obviously, there's a hospital scene. is it even a kdrama if there isn't one.
anyway ML and FL, heal eachother's inner child which i wasn't expecting to see in this drama. i didn't expect it to go that far into depth with this premise.
OVERALL:
9/10 just cause it was better than I was expecting and i'd rewatch for funsies. this drama did remind me of how SOME rich people are complete and utter JERKS who think they're better than everyone else. anyway, don't expect much angst obviously if you do watch this. my only dislike really, was the narrator but she didn't talk much from epsiode 3 onwards.

CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS!!!
Super love this drama unexpectedly, can’t stop watching and really can’t wait !!Too bad the episodes are too short in my opinion. I wish they are a bit longer.
Loving Moon Cha Min character, funny and adorable, he makes my heart flutter ❤️❤️
Didn’t expect to be so in love with this drama, the story is light yet heartfelt, the true romcom!

Fast paced exciting and honest series. Definite watch !!
What I am liking about this series is that it is using cliche topic in a new , honest and fresh manner. I am just loving this concept.Plot is nice. Both leads are good.
And what I like about the ML's character is that is has showcased in new light. For example typical South Korean series has a rich and cold male lead but he is different he is not that cold. He feels relatable.
About FL's character - I love that she is honest, she is completely aware of what she wants and doesn't feel guilt about her goal. Whatever the goal is.
Yeah, these are all the reasons why I am loving this Rom com.
Just go for it already.

Cinderella love - my cute sweet catchup weekly.
Light hearted and sweet story! A little short and I hope it would be longer because I wanna enjoy the sweetness more.Production wise, love the sets even though most of the story happened in the same few sets. Shin Jae Rim's outfit towards the end was nice! Not to mention, I kinda like the butler's dress sense after work. It gave a little character to the butlers working in the Cheongdam Heaven.
Acting - there were a few stiff acting by the sides but overall the leads carried it quite well. There was a slight sense of awkwardness between the leads but I think it does add to the story quite well.
Overall, I love them!!

buena!

Had potential but poor execution
I was curious about this series because of the title and synopsis. Was looking forward to a refreshing tale of Cinderella but oh boy, what a disppointment. I got bored mid-way through the series but persisted because I want to mark this series as 'Complete',What I liked:
1) Lee Jun Young - This is the second work of his that I've watched (The Impossible Heir being the first one). Lee Jun Young did well in a role that's been assigned to him - flawed & a little eccentric but charming chaebol/CEO. He is handsome and has a nice build and height, which are important traits for a male lead.
2) Supporting characters - It's great that the stepmom and stepsisters were nice people (unlike the classic Cinderella story) and were given some backstory so their characters were not just 2D. I also like Baek Dong Ho and Youngbae though I wish writer developed a better friendship arc for Dong Ho and Jae Rim.
What I disliked:
1) Shin Jae Rim characterisation - It's hard to like her because she was ungrateful brat and shallow even till the end. I wish there was more character growth because it's frustrating that female lead was still in self-pity mode in second last episode. Gosh she should have taken the opportunity to travel to Berlin and self-discover. There were very few scenes of Jae Rim as a person, as opposed to her as a stepsis and stepdaughter, a employee, a love interest.
2) Pyo Ye Jin - She is miscast unfortunately. I expected female lead to be wholesome and charming even when being a damsel in distress (best example is Giselle of Disney's Enchanted). However Pyo Ye Jin couldn't demonstrate these traits though the seduction scenes were a nice attempt).
3) Romance - The most frustrating part in a romance story is when a couple hardly communicates. This happens in the series - there are too many mixed signals from Cha Min, it's tiring. Plus there is no chemistry between Pyo Ye Jin and Lee Jun Young.
4) Fantasy elements - I'd say the fantasy scenes put a damper in my enjoyment of the series. The seduction scenes were fine because they tell viewers that Cha Min was falling for Jae Rim. But for example the "homeless Cha Min". They feel like a filler.
Favourite scene
When Jae Rim had too much drinks and had to pee.

Cinderella, Charles Perrault 21st century version
10 episodes - Feel-good series and 2nd degree humor on the dream of the FL (Cinderella with stepmother and 1/2 sisters) of marrying a Prince Charming. For that, she will work in the Club for Elite and super rich, led by the ML (cold, with trauma... of course).+++ Lee Jun Young in ML / Lots of clichés made fun of / Manga style animation
### Permanent derision doesn't allow you to really get involved in the story.
=> Distracting, nothing more.

+++ Lee Jun Young en ML / Bcp de clichés tournés en dérision/ animation style Manga
### Côté dérision permanente ne permet pas de s'impliquer vraiment ds la story.
=> Distrayant, sans plus.

Dorama confort ?
