THE BEST DRAMA OF 2024 SO FAR!

A new insight to South Korea's conglomerate family. I am glad that it didnot have any complexity like other conglomerate family dramas. For the first time, I watched a drama which showed a different side of an so-called illegitimate child. Most of the dramas show them spoiled and so on. But this drama was something different. Acting skills were par excellence. Ahn bo hyun did an amazing job of carrying on the whole drama just by his spectacular acting. The chemistry between Park ji hyun and Ahn bo hyun was something else. It didnot need romance honestly. The last episode made me cry. There is a big plot twist at the end. I hope the same cast will carry on the season 2.

One of my new favs

I must say, this drama positively surprised me. I didn't think it would be this good, but it is. It has become one of my new favorite shows, and I am so glad it is getting a season 2.

The beginning of the show started with little investigation stories and evolved into a bigger plot. I love all the characters, especially Jin Isoo. I love his personality, and the actor is portraying it so well! In general, the acting is amazing, but I must say that Jin Isoo/Ahn Bo-hyun stood out to me. When he cried, I had to cry. He made me laugh often, and I never really got mad or annoyed at him.

There was some romance, which I enjoyed and am glad was there because it made the show even better.

I like how there were many different cases we could discover that were connected to some characters. And it really rose from smaller cases to bigger cases. Already excited for season 2. Can't wait!

I really enjoyed this drama! I wasn't sure about the plot at first because I get tired of the chabeol plots but after watching an edit on TikTok I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did!

It was a perfect blend of emotional, funny, action, detective work. I really enjoyed Ahn Bo Hyun's character. I also enjoyed the way all the characters developed. It was fun to see them becoming a team and working so well together.

The cases they worked on were interesting and that plot twist at the end was oooof! I would absolutely watch it again and am hoping they follow through with a second season!

Pleasantly Surprised

First of all, this drama gives strong Taxi Driver (which I loved) vibes in that there’s a new case each episode, and unique approaches and devices are utilized in the solving of them. It differs significantly, though, in that these are actual detectives and an actual chaebol/detective working actual crimes. I enjoyed immensely that it didn’t copy a formula, it took elements from it and made a whole new formula of its own.

I appreciated that the backstory from childhood was doled out intermittently between case solving. So you were getting regular closure on the one hand, with periodic clues about the ongoing questions about the past and present. This was smart directing and when the big culmination of truth is revealed, the timing and energy felt exactly right.

I enjoyed the duality of the leads, and several of the supporting cast as well. Being driven in your work but still capable of reflection and altering one’s opinions and biases. Learning to see oneself through an accumulation of small successes, not chance of birth or survived trauma. Coming to appreciate that different approaches can still lead to shared goals. Shedding a predatory career path for one of integrity. There was just a lot of well written character development here.

The romantic innuendo was beautifully subtle, and the friendships were naturally built and strong. Every cast member brought their A game, but Ahn BoHyun’s character arc was masterful. You could always see that his heart was good from the beginning, but the level to which he took what could have been a justifiable descent into a vengeful rage and instead just became an even better person was an inspiration.

Lastly, it’s rare to see a drama this well tied up promise a 2nd season. It’s definitely primed for one, and I love that it’s not based on loose ends; it’s based on a solid premise with characters we’ve come to care about continuing the story.

Anh Bo Hyun nailed it!

The only regret I had is to not wait till the show is finish first before watching, because the weekly wait was killing me!

I really love the characters in this show, especially the nice uncle who stayed by In Soo all this while. It's sweet seeing such dedication and sincerity in these days.

The storyline is pretty predictable in a way, but it doesn't mean it's boring. In Soo basically brings comedy, action, and excitement into this otherwise average plot.

I really enjoy every episode, the pacing is right, it keeps me excited and wanting for more.

I also love how loose ends up are all tied up with a solid ending, and potential for S2?

Anh Bo Hyun definitely did it again. His acting was so good especially in the last episode. I could really feel his heart sank, it's heartbreaking. Also, he is hot af, which is a big bonus!!

I can't wait for S2 and more of his show!!!

interesting and fun to watch

i loved it. give it a try and find out for yourself. a different plot from the usual ordinary police trying to catch evil cheabols. now we have a cheabol assisting with his weird ways. I loved his relationship with his brother. it was refreshing to see that they did not fight over the company like most other dramas. upbeat nice drama

whats so good about this drama is that as the episodes go on they get alot more interesting regarding character development and the plot gets stronger and deeper,things developed from upbeat to tragic smoothly until he ended solving his own case .
when i started watching i thought the hyung is such a huge vibe i needed someone like this in my life (but since I've seen this before i knew right away that he's too good to be true because writers love to screw things up )
i'm sorry but , Who ever did jin isoo styling deserve a punch in the face his fashion is bad where do they even find those shirts .
since i watched the first two episodes i thought it was on the less mature side and not to My taste maybe but for younger viewers ,i love the versatility of the stories and Characters .
they could've picked someone else to be the Main actress i find her unsatisfying. (my point of view though)

I just finished Flex X Cop and would advise people to check logic at the door because this is an entertaining watch as long as one doesn’t think too hard about it. For example, instead of wondering in what universe police would throw someone into a case with zero prior training (just imagine the potential liability), I would enjoy instead the protagonist’s fish out of water fumbling and his gradual acceptance by his peers. I had been underwhelmed by Bo Hyung Ahn as an actor in “See You My 19th Life,” but I’ve completely changed my mind after seeing him in this drama. He really sold his character and his story. I also thought that Park Ji Hyun, who plays the female lead, was good.

The ending left A LOT of loose ends. I heard recently that there will be a second season, which explains all of the dangling threads.

Well Paced Story for a Casual Watch

It has been awhile since I enjoyed a good Dectective show. And I think Flex X Cop did somewhat hit the spot for me. It was an easy watch and I must compliment the Script for not over-staying on a particular plot - story kept developing what made it interesting for the viewer. I also liked the concept of JYS and I thought ABH played him to perfection - with that slightly naive touch. PJH did decently well for me and her chemistry with ABH clearly showed, through all their past work together. Side cast also provided good comedic relief, though very few were actually delved into. Main gripe for me was how painfully obvious the culprit was. I was praying for a plot twist at the end but unfortunately, it is how it is.

Overall, still a good and easy drama to watch - the comedy and the cast's chemistry provided good vibes throughout. Excited for Season 2 but I do hope we get more well thought out cases.

IT'S NOT OVER YET......

The first season surprised me on several levels. It was a drama that had no episodes without importance or dragging. The whole story had good dynamics and followed a well-defined course. I always appreciate dramas that use episodes 15 and 16 to conclude the story. Most dramas use episode 16 for conclusions full of amenities and frivolities. However, FlexXCop used it differently, dosing its story effectively in 16 good episodes. It is a drama that deserves the success it achieved in South Korea and has the energy and potential for its second season, which I believe will only be released in 2026.

I liked the villain built in a complex way and shaped by the ambitions and neuroses of his mother, brought to us by Shi Yang with his character Seung Joo. This drama has a high level of quality and deserves only praise, there is nothing to criticise.

Fun & light action, comedy, thriller, drama

Korean dramas on Disney+ Flex x Cop have been hit and miss for me. For me, Flex x Cop is a hit. Watch it if you want a fun & light action, comedy, thriller drama.

What I liked:
1) Ahn Bo Hyun always great at playing man baby but this role showcased his skills in both comedy & drama. I like when main character who is in a serious field has fun at work!
2) Supporting cast - Kyungjin character is so cute, glad he got a happy ending hahaha. I also enjoy the developing bromance between Isoo & Junyoung.
3) Love that the opening theme goes for a rock song . I also like other songs featured in the OST such as Hey! by Lucy and Shadows in the Night by Hersh.
4) It's great that writers did not fully explore romance between Isoo and Jihyun.
5) I like that the show showcased two different types of family dynamics: close-knit (Jihyun's family) vs cold, distant (Isoo's family).

What I disliked:
1) I understand that Isoo has connections but with that level of professional and life experiences, I am surprised he managed to solve a lot of the cases.

Favourite scene:
When Isoo was down and it was noticed by his cop friends.
