SHORT BUT VERY CUTE AND COMPLETE, UNDERRATED DRAMA.
Oftentimes we find short series very quick paced or sometimes even confusing. It kinda feels like "could've been better if it was longer", BUT THIS SERIES, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SHORT, FELT JUST RIGHT. A SIMPLE STORY, GOOD PACING AND BEUTIFUL CHEMISTRY AMONG ALL THE 3 LEADS. AND MOST DEFINITELY CUTE!THE PART I LOVED THE MOST WAS HOW MIX AND RYU DIDN'T HATE EACH OTHER EVEN THOUGH THEY LIKED THE SAME GUY. AND THE ENDING WAS OPEN. AS SOON AS THEY FOUND A HOUSE WHERE ALL 3 CAN LIVE TOGETHER, THEY INSTANTLY CALLED RYU . THIS SHOWS THEIR SOLID BONDING.
OST was good. Overall, it's a cute, feel good drama.

Fitting Title
Won't take you long to figure out why it's called My Mate Match and I think it's pretty clever lolAnyway, so off the top of my experienced BL watching head, I can't think of a drama with a similar storyline so basically that means it's not too cliché/overused. It's pretty clear these boys are new to acting/BL but that's perfectly fine to me. The ending was pretty satisfying and even though it looks like they could try to squeeze a S2, I find it totally unnecessary so hopefully they leave the ending up to the viewers imagination. It got a little boring a few times and I saw a couple scenes coming from a mile away but overall it was decent. I'd recommend to a BL newbie.
Enjoy...

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my first time writing a review for a BL drama that I have completely. The title is so clever. It is just Match choosing his roommate. Both Mix and Ryu are super cute but my heart is still for Match and Mix. They just look so cute together. It is a misunderstanding that both Mix and Ryu get to Match's apartment even though he wants just one person because of the house owner's request . The one selected is the one who will be Match's partner. I am really waiting for a season 2. It might result in a good ending for Ryu.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Better than you'd think.
Although I appreciate the intention of keeping us entertained during this pandemic, we have to agree these Covid inspired dramas haven't been a big deal. I have only seen a few and none of them have been worthy enough for a review. This one, though, was actually a pretty good one.It is extremely basic to the point there's literally nothing you can consider unique or memorable. I mean, there's only three actors and one setting, so there really isn't much we can get from this. Still, the story was cohesive and nicely written. Story wise, I tend to expect a lot from regular dramas, but this is one of those I love to just sit down, relax and watch without having to give much thought to anything.
The acting was quite decent for such small project. I remember dramas like "Ingredients," where the actors looked and felt so awkward and staged that it pushed me away from continuing out of pure cringe, and then look at this one and feel the huge difference. And yes, it did have some moments that felt fake, but it was not overpowering; just a couple of mistakes here and there.
This review is a little short compared to what I usually write but, again, the drama is so simple there is nothing much to take from it. I do recommend it, though, because it is a lighthearted story that, despite the fact it is very short, it pays homage to the classic BL tropes Thailand has created for the genre.

Quite good because you likely won't expect much anyway
While this isn't going to be an unforgettable BL series, it doesn't pretend or try to be anything more than an excuse to bring three guys together and have us wonder which of the other two guys our protagonist will end up with. The premise is simply that a is guy looking for a roommate but ends up living with two roommates competing to be the chosen one. Who will he choose? The events, such as how the three men sleep on the same bed, make little sense. But somehow, they are not presented in a way that would make you roll your eyes and stop watching, maybe because you won't be lulled into expecting more than what the series has to offer. The series succeeds at presenting a largely lighthearted episodes with a few good looking young men in BL situations. It's not the sort of series that makes anyone expect a good story and nuanced characterization, and it gets away without offering such things. This makes it better than those that pretend that there is a story and offer one with loopholes and endless digressions to insignificant characters and scenes.

It kept me interested.
I wasn't expecting too much based 9n the review rating and some of the comments but overall I really enjoyed this. It starts off a bit silly but as feelings start to build, I really began to feel for the characters and I absolutely was curious for the outcome of this love triangle. This isn't a complicated story and I felt like it was kept simple and emotionally honest. I could feel the frustration and I could understand why emotions and feelings went unsaid for so long. It just felt authentic to me. I do have mixed feelings about the ending and I do feel like things got a bit rushed, naturally considering this story had to be packed into 5 episodes but I feel like a good story was told here and it was certainly worth the few hours of my binge time.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Match+Mix+Ryu
My opinion, + mild spoilersI can honestly say that this was the weirdest chemistry I've ever encountered in a BL. I know it's just acting, but onscreen, the 3 of them belonged together. The chemistry between just (any) 2 of them didn't really work. It was awkward. The 3 of them together, when they weren't competing, was amazing! I felt like I was watching friends who had grown up together and cared deeply for each other rather than people who had just met. There were jealous moments, but a lot of times when there should have been jealousy, it came across to me that they simply cared more about each other than they did themselves.
That being said, when Mix was feeling sorry for himself, I should have wanted to kick his butt. Somehow, instead, I just felt sympathy towards him. That says a lot about the acting in those scenes. As far as the rest of the acting, I think they would have done better with a better script. They were so limited, with everything literally being in-house, that it was a "make the most of it" script. To be honest, the best/most natural thing I saw in the entire drama was the initial kiss.
This is the first drama I've seen where, due to the chemistry of the characters, I was rooting for some type of poly relationship. After the first couple weeks of living together, they should have been looking for another place to live that didn't have a 2 person limitation. The happiness of the final scene and the possibilities ahead made the whole series worth watching. I assume there's not going to be a season 2, so in my head everything works out the way I wanted.
