Willing or Not

with that kinda title, i would get very weary about WTF i'm about to see and ironically this (so far) the best of the bunch, this was Adorable!!! and it's ironic for a couple of reasons. other then that title (took me a sec) but finally recognized the couple they from Why R U? and there they were so off. Dew (Titan) was a bleedin bully, wanted to murder him not for him to end up with the baby (considering he ONLY 19 now) he was bullying throughout that BL. and the turn-about from "i hate this dude's gut's" to "i like him" from Blue (Mini) was a weird 180 (but i guess that's what u get when u wanna "wrap-up" every side story, cause the BL ending). *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************so this is a breath of fresh air, cause it's lighthearted, fun and funny - Titan might be a bit of a meathead, but he not mean or a bully. even if he's pushing Mini - Mini aint a docile pushover that can't do anything, he giving as good as he gets, or at least doesn't just take it (cause he a junior and has no other choice but to suffer) and here unlike Why R U?, even though this a short ep, there is logical build-up where u "get" why Mini or Titan would develop feeling's. *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************side note - cause of both leads now i'm looking forward to watching them in Cutie Pie (as read others recognize them for that BL) which i have yet to veiw, as i'm waiting for it to get completed.

Good but Forgettable

- Episode 3 gives us MaxNat in this tale between a senior and junior. Mini is a skinny hopeless junior who needs to join a club and was hoodwinked into joining the judo club. That's when he meets the intimidating senior, Titan. Right away, I can say this episode does the best job of telling a complete story than the first two episodes. What helps move the episode along was the little training montage with Titan teaching Mini basic judo. Even though Titan is essentially a hardass, you can see he's developing a soft spot for Mini.

- This episode thankfully gives us a small backstory with Titan, which I do appreciate, but once again the time constraint prevents us from really getting to know these characters.

- Aside from how short this episode is, I think the weakest element for me are the lead's chemistry. I'm not saying they don't have chemistry, but it's not as pronounced as it could be. There clearly is an attraction, but it's overshadowed by the training. I think their most intimate moment was Titan letting Mini flip him on purpose. This episode was a lot better than the first two, but it was still pretty mediocre and honestly forgettable.

Common plot but underdeveloped

Just realised we can separately rate the episodes, so here I am copying my review of the overall series into the specific episodes. This is a very common plot, nothing new, and unfortunately it is once again a victim to the short-stories style of this series. The outcome of the Freshy Games will matter to the viewers in a longer series where the efforts of the characters touched hearts, and the relationship development will matter if there had been more time to show organic progress in their feelings. But no, I watch this not feeling anything for the characters at all. Giving it a passing grade at 5 years; 3 stars more than ep 2 because at least there was a point to the plot.
