Make My Heart Smile (2021)

Well...

This is another a messy but light c-drama. There are so many common irrelevant scenes lmao but I took this as a stress reliever. Irrelevant scenes can be ridiculous and at some points they make the drama looks terrible.

I probably like the concept/idea of the ML gradually liking the FL more; I see it that way tho the ML was annoying at first. You can see the feeling is growing but the scenes made things awkward.

Tbh, I'm not a fan of the acting performances by the stiff leads in idol c-dramas, but their chemistry was quite tolerable on screen, considering they are newcomers and unnecessary scenes. I actually think they look cute together anyway *sigh*.

I can definitely binge watch this again. With a skip and fast forward button, of course.

Heart Fluttering, Youthful, and Fun

Definitely didn't expect to fall in love with this show and it's characters. The storyline may seem very common, but what set this apart is the flow of the story, the portrayal of the actors, and the growth of the characters.

The character growth of almost everyone in the series is such a journey. It was a rollercoaster to watch the leads mature and slowly change for their betterment through the trials they've faced.

The challenges that the leads faced- together with the support of good friends, made this series so much better. It highlighted the phrase, no man is an island. It showed that with the right people in your life, even difficult situations become bearable, and passing through these difficulties with someone makes it less lonely and burdensome.

I also loved the growth in the aspect of love and relationships. I loved seeing the characters grow and slowly show maturity and more trust in their respective relationships. It highlighted that in all relationships trials do come, but what's important is to not give up on each other and to also not sacrifice yourself in the process of love. Growth should come from both ends.

Overall, a great drama that'll definitely make watchers feel good and giddy with the romance and discoveries of youth.

BURN TWIN SWAPS!

I absolutely HATE twin swap. It's a horrible plot, tricks and hurts so many people, and is so weird when the ML meets the twin.

The ML is terrible, and the excuse for the cohabiting was poor (most of them are, but idk why this one bothered me). I don't know, I think that if I watched this 2 years ago I would've loved it, but since then there have been so many good clichés but well-written dramas that I can't overlook how awful their development was.

I wouldn't recommend watching it. But if you, like me, have apparently watched every single Chinese drama on earth, then this is a good almost last choice.

Worst drama of the decade

OMG how can someone direct this much of worst drama. Really I pity on ML and FL. Even though if they didn’t get any dramas how come they accept this king of worst drama. The only curious thing I have is I want to know what’s there inside the director’s head, whether it a brain or just empty space or something else. Especially the FL I don’t know why she accepted this drama, she is cute talented and young also, forget about the ML he is totally useless in all aspects.
Till 15 episodes there is nothing in the drama, ML keep on courting FL she keeps on rejecting in a brutal way but he won’t feel shame at all, I think shame is a little respectful word at least he didn’t feel bad at all but he considered those rejections as she is making joke on that. For his acting skills he may accept worst than than this kind of shameless characters. The worst part in this drama is when he considered she accepted his proposal (actually she didn’t).
When she is taking with someone he couldn’t tolerate, when she is sitting with someone he couldn’t tolerate and one time when she was going to hospital he resisted her from going to hospital only because he heard talking to her male classmate and demanded her to give that food which is prepared for the patient, according to Chinese director this is love but to all human beings this is high level of sadism. The whole drama is full of this kind of situations, portraying obsession and sadism as love.

It's a Light and fluffy rom-com drama! ^0^

When I had decided to watch the drama before all I could see was racist comments, so to all those who think about it, I guess they have removed that part. The ML and FL meet unexpectedly and a twist of events occurs. I had never thought FL would do a could job acting like 2 characters. Luo Zheng(ML) did an awesome job. I had first seen him in Parallel Love. I had personally completed it in 15 days as it was on air. The chemistry between Ye Weimian and Gu Yanluo was really cute. I would also appreciate Lu Yao and Mu Ze. they were really the soul of the drama. without them, the drama would have been incomplete. and at last Zuo Sinchen would did an amazing job portraying SNOTTY! haha loved him. Creative and artistic all we could expect from a friend of Ye Weimian. I strongly suggest you all should watch this drama.

CLICHE!!!! Dont bother to watch

Honestly, the drama was good at the start but towards the middle and end has full of dragging unecessary scenes similar to other chinese drama not to mention cringey acting full of cutsy stuff uhhhhhh . I was rolling my eyes all the time. Another issue is the racism stuff, they did not even bother to apologize for the dialogue that according to them was "mistranslated" ? (i doubt it). This type of drama should not be shown in any platform.

Great and cute rom-com

I had watched more than 50 Chinese dramas and this is the first time I am writing a review for a series. I thought creating an account and posting a review is worth it. Because that much is the intake from this drama. Even the actors became my favourite and donno what to say I became a huge fan of the ML and began to follow the fan pages, downloading his photos and all. Totally this drama is a great one. Dont miss the chance to watch it guys. Its worth the time. I even watched the drama thrice. I can see a lot of critics here. But know something even a small dialogue can make a drama famous by any means its the success of the drama only. So dont backtrack and hate this. This is a great one. I loved it so much. And very much glad to see Luo Zheng as a male lead.

A Racist Show that Makes no Apologies about it

I can't believe it's 2021 and yet racism is so prevalent. "You look like a Filipina maid." If that sentence isn't blatant racism then I don't know what is. I have been patronizing Chinese novels and shows and I see this. Omg, I can't believe that no one even bothered to apologize for this. I feel like the insult is normal for them. Is racism normal so much that you can casually just say it in a recorded show without hesitation? Shows exactly the attitude of the person responsible for this show is. It also shows the reality that even in the modern 2021 world racism is still blatantly broadcasted in a regular show.

BLATANTLY RACIST

This show didn't even apologized for their racist remarks. People who tolerate this kind of racism just because it's entertaining are the reason why racism won't go away.

"It's only the fashion they are talking about..." No, no, no. Don't make any excuse for racism. Racism is here because people still makes excuses for it.

The point is this racist statement happened in a recorded show and yet not one decided to cut out the remarks.

If you allow those people to make fun of your race as an entertainment then sooner or later your race will become an entertainment to laugh about! Wake up Filipino people!

Sooner or later if you allow yourself to tolerate this racism, they would make a laughing stock out of your race. Do you want Filipinos to be the brunt of jokes and insult in the name of entertainment?

If you tolerate it then that's what you are asking for.

I just started watching this drama when suddenly, its all over the news here in the Philippines. I wont even bother stepping in to the next episode (its also been removed on iqiyi, so, I cant access it anymore) but even if I can. B*tch no. I'm just here to express my disappointment to whoever wrote the script. This is a disgrace in the cdrama world! My cousins have been asking everyone to stop watching cdrama, you know the cancel culture? it really breaks my heart though cause I really like some cdramas(the potential is real) and because of this goshdamn series, there will be less viewers here in this country. BE RESPONSIBLE!!!

Don’t watch, Don’t try.

I’ve been a fan of Chinese dramas as far as I can remember. However, this is the first drama I have watched, very insulting. I specially waited this drama to be available because I love the line up of the characters. I did not know who are responsible for it, the producer who literally made to insult filipinos, the actors who did not even tried to talk about how degrading that line is or the whole production team. Producer do know that there are many filipino people watching Chinese drama, but because of that line, I think your drama should be drop. It’s disgusting. Again, Don’t watch, Don’t try.
