My Roommate is a Gumiho (2021)

Same writer and director. Besides the fantasy elements in gumiho both dramas are structured very similarly and have the same kind of humor.

Both dramas have a ML who is a supernatural creature (nine tailed fox vs. merman) and a human FL who accidentally kisses him and swallows his pearl/bead. In order to retrieve it before it kills her, the two end up living together, and fall in love.

-They have ups and downs in the story and are dramatic in places

-They make you want to date the lead characters in real life as they are so lovely

The red string fate... Always been a huge fan of this concept... Though both the dramas depict it in a different way... But who wouldn't love the coincidences of fate...

Both stories are similar in terms of the fantasy world. My roommate is a Gumiho is about a guy who is a gumiho, very likable, warm character. My love from the star is about a guy who is an alien.

Both have the same vibe, silly light romcom but both leads are cute and great actors

For me personally there’s a fine line between cheesy and flat, and cheesy yet fun

Similar stories, with the male lead being non-human, both really great stories if you're a fantasy lover and haven't already seen this one!
