A VIAGEM NO TEMPO

underrated drama you should watch!!

Simply one of the best drama in 2020. from story to acting to logic in every step of it make the concept of Time Altering really useful and realistic. that's really well-written drama. from start to end it go with interesting follow up, it's rare for drama to not be dragged mid way but Kairos have no boring or just dragged in eps. can't believe it's so underrated and have no hype.

it have more than one point of view and showcase more that feeling from not realizing how important some one in your life until you lose them, watch we see in the lead change after going through losing his family and through the wife ending... the idea of being greedy wanting everything without realizing that you maybe have everything by having people love you but you don't see that, the idea of how one minute can be important in our life and change it, that our choose in present change our future and they do it in realistic way. how they show how one move change the future of every character. i loved the ending the best, it was not forced sudden romance and look just right. the characters was amazing well written and easy to understand, i love how smart the leads and i also liked the evil characters story and their end.

acting let's me say Shin Sung Rok should get award over this drama, their are that one scene when he found his daughter/wife that deserve award alone on how he showcase so many feeling in just few seconds, he was amazing that i feel the present person is different person.
Ahn Bo Hyun taking in another bad boy character but the feeling of DoKyun is totally different he did so well showcasing a blind man in love who choice her over anything even himself. i loved his acting lets bright character you are sad enough.
Nam Gyu Ri Amazing what an amazing actor without overacting she deliver her character right, it's so rare to have evil character that don't scream or glare like crazy. her gaze was so good and normal.

music was okay but i don't really remember it, the most important sound was the clock sound for 10:33 and the change of dates.

I recommend it to everyone you must try that you won't regret.

amazing!!!

the storyline was very great, I was hooked since the first episode till the very end. It keep my tense up and very thrilling every single episode. the drama is kinda dark too giving more thrill. There wasn't a time that I feel like it was draggy. I was curious and eager to know what happen next and after all of those, the revelation of the truth and the way they solved it was so satisfying. I found this drama because of seung yoon and se young, yet I fell in love with all the casts, great acting indeed. just make sure you focus and remember what happen at each timeline, so you won't get confused. love love love!!!

Now THAT’S what I call great screenwriting!

Wow ... just wow! Since I don’t know where to start with explaining how remarkably good this drama was and believe a genuine, thorough review will only end as a dissertation, I will keep it as short and sweet as possible and ask fellow curious viewers to abandon what you think/hope will happen and just watch the show!

A race against time where a life is always on the line. Hidden danger illuminated by a little foresight. Will everything come to light? Will everyone live? Will justice be served? Love how the answers is not a simple yes! I am warning you now - it will be frustrating. It will have you shouting “WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHERE? HOW? WHHHHHHHYYYYY?” If you come with preconceived notions, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED because it probably won’t happen the way you think it will. The only way to find the truth is to watch it all!

Now a “light” review:

Nam Gyu Ri is AN??ACT??OR?? WOW! Just every moment, she bodied that character with her lil band of sociopathic serial killers.

I really wish I could get into the cinematography aspect of this drama as well but that would require many, many words. In short, give them all the awards... ALL OF EM! I’m still thinking about the lighting in the cafe scene, DAEBAK!

What I loved most about the series is that it lacked long-term predictability. What I mean by that is, because of the main characters’ ability to communicate through time and space, an action that we would deem significant in an early episode may turn out to be of no importance later on and vice versa. Only in the “present” moment can you accurately predict what’s going to happen, which I love since I usually spend my time pointing at the screen saying “they’re the real criminal,” and at the end of the series, lo and behold, they are in fact the culprit.

Only three things, to my recollection, did I see coming early on and ended the way I expected - why these two people, who is most likely to die, and who the “final/real” villain is. Spoiler: it’s always a shared tragic, traumatic childhood experience, the loyal/lovesick friend/family member, and the old, rich guy. Is that really a spoiler or just tired tropes?

My ONLY beef is Ahn Bo Hyun’s storyline. Did he really have to act that way ‘til the very end ... I guuuueeeeeessss?? Was it necessary? Absolutely not! Like I get, I understand, it makes sense - that’s does not negate the fact I dislike people like his character and it sort of feels like a cop out, he really didn’t have to be extra like that and some actions had more plot value than it needed to be.

Overall, this is a top 5 2020 kdrama for me!

Time-Travel Themed Dramas, Take Note From Kairos

I enjoyed watching this show and knowing it’s a time-travel themes drama, it wasn’t difficult to follow through the events. But there were moments it felt draggy but I could tolerate.

The actors did really well, and it was a satisfying ending. I really loved it that they didn’t force the male and female lead to have a love line. This is probably one of the best things that I’ve seen so far — a love that surrounds family and friends, and justice being served. It is also refreshing to see to policemen, prosecutors, and even the judiciary getting their work done, and not being trashy and corrupt.

Best takeaway is to not be afraid of the future but treasure each moment of your present.

A decent time-travel drama

it’s taken me a while to actually finish this drama. getting to only episode 9 on my first attempt and than placing it on hold for a few months. I’ve only just came back to it and completely restarted the watch as it’s a rather complicated show to just jump head first into. It is definitely a drama worth being in the time-travel genre (Not As Good As signal though) with its constantly changing dynamics, unexpected plot twists etc. I haven’t rated it higher because I’m just generally not a overall big fan of dramas like these, at times it felt really confusing to know which was the past and which was the present. But overall, the changing relationships between the ML and his family, the strenuous affair of the wife and the secretary, and the FL’s unyielding spirit in finding out the truth made it a worthwhile watch. it isn’t one of my favourite dramas, but is definitely something I can see myself revisiting in the near future to pass the time.

So I've now watched four dramas which all had similar features but out of all four-The Tunnel, Signal, Life On Mars, and this one, The Tunnel and this one is my favorite.

We all know what the story is about so I won't get into that. I will just say I liked the whole cast except the female who played the wife. Her face annoyed the heck out of me. I remember seeing her on Cruel City and had the same response. There was one scene in particular where she cried and it looked like she had so much work done on her face that she looked like one of those vintage porcelain dolls. She couldn't even cry right because of how stiff her face looked. Plus her eyes were so big that she looked cross eyed at times.

This series was met with a lot of emotions for me. It really hit home about losing fathers. I, myself, lost my father unexpectedly and the way they portrayed the fathers in this and their close relationships with their children had me fighting back some strong tears.

This series also gets into the dark side of shady construction jobs. I liked the way the whole series was evenly paced out. There wasn't one episode that didn't disappoint. To me this series wasn't all over the place. The plot was always consistent.

I also liked the characters sans the wife. I couldn't stand her. There are people like this in real life which really have me seething. It was hard not to like everybody else though.

The cinematography at times was a bit shaky, but I guess trying to portray realism shots was necessary. I don't know why I never care for the music. There were times when I was surprised to hear jazz and American music in the background like the remake of Roberta Flack's Street Life.

As always I always don't expect much from the very last episode in Korean dramas because they miss the mark a lot! This one got it right for me. Justice was served the right way but in my opinion the last 30 minutes was just too long. It got to the point where it should've ended when justice was served but I guess we got a glimpse of what everyone's life was like after making it through extreme life altering situations.

Last but not least, the very last minute of this series led me to believe that there may be a second season.

Good Enough

Korean Drama '' Kairos '' is a time travel thriller.

The drama managed to pull off a difficult plot without overcomplicating things, even though it was easy to confuse the audience with the back-and-forth and the overlapping timelines. Yet, the drama used the mystery behind the time leaping to its advantage, making the viewer guess what is happening throughout the drama, or root for the leads to finally discover the truth.

Keeping things romance free was another excellent idea, as the story really didn't need any romantic element to be interesting and a love story would have shifted the focus from the suspenseful fantasy story to a more 'rosy' even tragic direction.

However, the story did get stuffy towards the ending and they repeated many twists.

The performances were also great by everyone in the cast and especially the main leads.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

i didn't expect it to be this good

i first watched because of the genre. and i kinda missed shin sungrok. but after the third episode, i finally realized watching this was the right choice. the suspense and emotions got me at the edge of my seat! especially when kang hyun chae was with seo do gyun and kim seo jin didn't even know about it. She's the true definition of a big ass whore! plus seo do gyun is just a jerk who only thinks about his woman.

all in all, i didn't know it would be this engaging. although there was little to no romance at all between han ae ri and kim seo jin, they had great chemistry! and im geon wook being the sad boi at the side. poor bby.

I don't know about rewatchig, but i definitely enjoyed watching this one!

Signal x Nine crossover show

Kairos is the baby drama when Signal x Nine has a crossover. Honestly, I'm half tuned out from the show, maybe it's the holiday buzz and I realized I'm not in a mood right now for a suspense drama. Or I'm just the hopeless romantic that needs a good romance to anchor me to a non-romance show (like Nine). But even through that, Kairos is a solid show and they did something different from the usual 'whodunit' drama.

The suspense does not come from identifying twist after twist of who the baddies are, But from how the protagonists go about trying to pass every hurdle and change a tragic happening in the past or the future. I like Lee Se Yeong's dual role in Hwayugi and she doesn't disappoint here. All actors are commendable, but Winner guy Kang Seung Yoon really stood out to me.

One quibble I have is how calm Shin Sung Rok's character accepted his wife's 'extracurricular' activities. Lastly this is the rare drama that stuck to its own rules until the end, even if they have to keep the suspense going.

In Another World With My Smartphone

Although its earlier parts were much better than the rest but the initial set up needed more time and thoughts to be put into it. They wanted to kick start the premise quickly but they rushed things along the way. The first 5-6 episodes kept you interested about the plot and had a good amount of thriller but things slowed down significantly after that and it began to lose its attraction even when they attempted to add story-altering twists. The story itself got sloppier for no reason in the second half and the villains turned out to be underwhelming. The characters never felt like they had a good dynamic or chemistry going on, not even with the most obvious main mother-daughter or father-daughter relationship. Their lack of appeal made it hard to root for anyone. Something was missing, none of them clicked.

To very briefly summarize for a quick read on whether or not you should watch this drama (without spoilers):
Kairos seemed like something I would enjoy: a man who fights to save his daughter and wife through the use of time travel communication. Unfortunately, as the story progressed, the story got more ridiculous. There were so many plot conveniences that were just logically dumb; the wife's plot and the severe character change in the secretary - to briefly name a few without spoiling anything. The decisions these characters make just don't make sense, even if you look from their emotionally driven perspective (PLOT CONVENIENCES UGH). Personally, don't waste your time with this drama. It's really not worth your mental sanity - it will leave you frustrated and exasperated.

A detailed breakdown of why you shouldn't watch this drama to clarify my brief summary above since this drama is getting a lot of attention (spoilers below):
I initially started to realize I didn't like this drama when it was revealed that the wife is mentally unhinged and cheating on our MMC, Kim Seo Jin. What made this so unpleasant was that the story wasn't written this way initially. To the viewer, she has no logical reason to cheat on her husband; while he is a workaholic, he loves his daughter and takes care of his wife. They took it further by the wife faking her own suicide AND the faking the kidnapping/horrific MURDER of their daughter. They then try to justify this horrors by making her this villain with sociopathic tendencies, which was unsettling and not the type of drama I sought out to watch.
***Predictable - of course the wife is a cheating bitch, of course the daughter is alive. *rolls eyes*

Then there's the secretary that they did a similar 360 character change. He was a bit fishy in the beginning and his ploy was predictable, but his severe character change to this heartless villain that adjusts his glasses all deviously and has a cold tone of voice just makes no sense from the type of character he was prior to his ploy reveal (the change is too drastic - it feels unnatural).

Then I just couldn't wrap my head around the disabled father who lost his own daughter in an accident. His goal was to get revenge on Kim Seo Jin because he had been convinced that KSJ is responsible for his daughter's death. Okay, sure, I can see how that happened. But then he turns around and uses KSJ's daughter, convincing KSJ that he's kidnapped and murdered the little girl?! What type of father, who he himself is grieving the loss of his child, could bring himself to commit such atrocities?! And while some people might be able to justify it saying, "he wanted KSJ to feel what he felt," I just can't stomach it.
***Predictable - of COURSE the disabled father was going to be killed when it appeared like he was going to reveal the plot.

Then there's the male "friend" to Han Ae Ri who stole her entire life's savings meant to pay for her mother's heart transplant surgery. She MURDERED him for what he did in the original timeline! While I understand her not killing him in the new timeline (which I can imagine was really hard considering the situation), how can they just be friends again? She was guarded at first, but now it seems like they trust and depend on each other and it just doesn't add up to me. If that was me, I wouldn't be able to. *shakes head*

The phone calls between KSJ and HAR were just ineffective. I know that they only had a minute, but it seems like *they* didn't realize that. *rolls eyes* Logically, it would make more sense to send a bunch of text messages to be delivered in that one minute so they have EVERYTHING they need for the day rather than these constantly interrupted phone calls.

Also, I know this doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but it was so distracting: who decided on the awful hair cut/style for LSY's character? It looks so unflattering - in everything else I have seen her in, her hair is so beautiful, and SHE is so beautiful - just WHY?!
And could the writers stop making HAR cry about things that haven't technically happened yet? KSJ is telling her what to do to PREVENT these terrible things from happening, so stop freaking out before anything has happened! Be relieved and motivated that there's something you can do to stop this. UGH.

To summarize:
Why add all of the amazingly acted, choreographed, and portrayed theatrics of agony in the first 2 episodes if it was going to be changed to a revenge plot? The first two episodes made Kairos appear like a drama about a man who loses his entire family - first his daughter, which breaks him and his wife, then his wife. He becomes so driven to save them once he realizes he might be able to change what happened through the help of HAR. But then the plot devolved from a drama about a man saving his family, to a convoluted revenge plot with over-the-top, unrealistic villains (based on how they were written and portrayed in the beginning). Would it have been so bad if this drama was unique from other dramas of similar genre where the wife was dedicated and loved her husband and they had a normal relationship? To create *shock* value, this drama loses substance through the use of these "plot twists." I just couldn't watch anymore of this nonsense. Too many things that were incorporated in the plot to accommodate the progression of plot that I just couldn't tolerate anymore. In conclusion, I was expecting a really different plot from what was delivered, and this, along with the mentioned flaws, is why I am dropping it.
