Heartbreakingly beautiful

Man... I feel emotionally drained after that roller coaster.. I can't fathom what another season / sequel is going to do to me. But it was so incredibly well done that I don't mind all the tears and pulling at my heart. I see why it's rated so high across the board.

In reading some reviews beforehand, I saw a lot of dislike toward Teh and, while I can see where the dislike is coming from, I can forgive him to an extent due to the fact he was confused and scared about his own feelings which is never a good combination. It stood out to me how much Teh was pacing back and forth in a lot of scenes as if he were lost. He was clearly struggling with his thoughts/feelings throughout the series. You could feel the frustration coming off him.

I definitely loved how Bas was not ashamed to be seen with a boy and I think both Oh and Teh really needed to see that in order to experience it themselves. Bas's monologue at the end of cram school was basically Teh's inner thoughts and feelings only Teh wasn't brave enough to say it out loud and it cost him his chance with Oh. While Bas laid it all out, it was such a beautiful scene because we watched as Teh realized it all too, even though he didn't say a word.

In that respect, I'm curious to see how many pages the script was for this series because I feel like there wasn't all that much dialog for 5+ hours. However all that they said with their expressions was deafening. The actors were really good at portraying their inner emotions.

I usually don't like series centered around high school age because I feel like I'm too old for that.. But this was amazing and I didn't feel like I was watching teenagers, if that makes sense.

Besides the acting, the cinematography was absolutely stunning and I liked that it wasn't set in the city. The music was great and really helped set the tone for each scene, especially the piano version of the song they sang together. A lot of little touches like that really helped with the ache the viewer felt along with the characters.

I'd definitely watch this again and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of frustration to go along with a truly beautiful piece.

Aguenta coraçãoooooo

Ok, meu segundo review e mesmo que ninguém vá ler, eu vou escrever porque essa é uma série que realmente vale a pena.
Vamos começar falando sobre a história, uau, diferente de tudo que eu já vi produzido na Tailândia, a história desse BL nos prende do começo ao fim, geralmente tenho o costume de pular 10, 20, 30 segundos de determinada cena por justamente não achar tão interessante ou legal, e diferentemente de todas as outras vezes, eu não consegui pular sequer 1 segundo de nenhum capítulo, pelo contrário, gostei tanto da história, da atuação, das cenas que me sentia ali dentro, vivenciando cada momento junto com os personagens. E quer saber de uma coisa? Nem tudo são flores, nada é perfeito, aliás, essa série é, mesmo decepcionada com o único beijo que teve, e mesmo que esse único beijo tenha me incomodado um pouco por ter sido dentro do mar e por ter ficado um pouco sem fôlego pelos personagens (kkkk) eu achei que todo o resto entregou TUDO, absolutamente tudo que eu buscava em uma série LGBTQ+. Sim, a forma como o Teh se abriu para o irmão pela primeira vez, a forma como ele mesmo se sentiu confuso com relação aos próprios sentimentos uma vez que até então só havia gostado de meninas, a forma como o Oh-aew colocou um sutiã pela primeira vez e se sentiu estranho... Sei lá, cada cena, cada momento, cada parte me transpareceu uma sinceridade e uma verdade tão grande que eu pude sentir daqui, do outro lado da tela, as mesmas sensações e sentimentos dos personagens (quem não sofreu junto com o Teh e Oh-aew assistiu errado, volta e vê de novo porque assim........... sem condições), acho tão incrível quando isso acontece, sim acho o auge da perfeição. Demorei um pouco a assistir esse BL porque lendo os reviews, eu sabia que iria amar, e sabendo que iria amar, eu sabia que iria ficar triste quando acabasse... Sei lá, eu sou assim com série, crio um apego tão grande que depois eu fico "CARALHO O QUE VOU FAZER DA VIDA DEPOIS QUE TERMINEI ESSA SÉRIE PERFEITA?" Nem sei como explicar, mas sim, eu coloco toda a minha felicidade dentro dos episódios e só Deus pra me ajudar depois que termina kk.

Agora, vamos falar sobre os personagens... Uau de novo, como foram bem estruturados *insira aqui palmas*. Cada personalidade, cada jeito, cada individualidade... Parece que foi tudo tão bem criado que no primeiro capítulo já é possível notar as diferenças e semelhanças de cada um, e mais, nos primeiros minutos de série já é possível sentir aquele gostinho de quero mais, e quero mais, e quero sempre mais de cada um. Sim, cada personagem fez a diferença, até mesmo a namorada do Hoon que abriu a boca cerca de duas vezes durante toda a série kk, ele teve seu papel e o desempenhou bem até.
E claro, já que estamos falando sobre personagem, eu não poderia deixar de falar sobre a atuação de cada um, PUTA QUE PARIU, não conhecia nenhum dos atores e posso dizer? Tô apaixonada. Descobri que além de um ótimo ator, o Billkin é um puta de um cantor e eu tô há horas ouvindo a ost sem parar (já falamos sobre isso), e cara, até mesmo não gostando tanto assim da atuação do PP Krit, eu me apaixonei pelo mesmo e como pode uma série conseguir fazer isso comigo? Mesmo enxergando os defeitos, eu não consigo deixar de avaliar a série com 10 porque olha, todas as outras coisas conseguiram superar os choros forçados do PP Krit, e mesmo forçado ele conseguiu fazer com que a gente sentisse os sentimentos dele, e isso que é atuação foda amigos, estão todos de parabéns. E eu não poderia também deixar de elogiar os atores pequenos, puts, que incrível a atuação dos mesmos... Foi tudo tão bem pensado e organizado que é perceptível aos nossos olhos a semelhança entre o Teh e o Oh-aew criança e grande, até as pintas do PP estão presentes, ele pequeno ou adolescente, que perfeição cara. Mais uma vez, parabéns ao diretor e toda a equipe de ITSAY.

E eu não poderia pular esse assunto sem ao menos citar a química que ambos personagens/ atores desenvolveram durante o BL... Puts, isso é tão raro. Cansei de ver série onde os atores principais não tem química nenhuma, a série é ótima, o desenvolvimento dela é impecável e os atores bem bosta como é o caso de Love By Chance com o Peth e o Saint. E ao contrário desse tipo de série, o PP e o Billkin conseguiram encontrar uma química entre eles tão única, tão gostosa, tão perfeita que eu não sei explicar em palavras, só sei sentir, é isso. A troca de olhares, a sensibilidade entre toques, os abraços... Caralho, não consigo tirar esses momentos da mente, NÃO CONSIGO. Obrigada Deus, porque assim, depois dessa série parece que me tornei uma pessoa muito mais feliz, kkk ou muito mais triste porque agora me tornei muito mais crítica e muito mais chata pra tolerar historinha boba de BL.

Agora mudando de assunto completamente, O QUE É ESSA OST? Todas as músicas incríveis, INCRÍVEIS, IN-CRÍ-VEIS, nenhum defeito. Não tenho muita paciência para música Tailandesa e descobri isso depois de forçar muito a barra, obviamente desisti de encontrar músicas gostosas de ouvir, mas as músicas dessa série, UAU, ainda não superam a ost de Theory Of Love, mas mesmo assim entrou no meu ranking de favoritas e parabéns, Billkin você tem uma voz incrível, saiba disso.
Ufa, já falei demais, e estou aqui lutando comigo mesma para lembrar de algo que talvez eu tenha deixado em branco, mas acredito que falei sobre tudo que eu realmente queria falar, e caso eu queira acrescentar algo, volto aqui depois, mas pra resumir, essa é uma série BL que realmente me deu ânimo, me fez querer viver de forma intensa, me trouxe felicidade e até mesmo acalmou meu coração. A cada novo episódio que se iniciava, eu criava uma expectativa tão grande que nem sei explicar, diferentemente de muitos outros BLs, eu não começava o capítulo com medo de me decepcionar no final, eu sabia que essa série me entregaria tudo, absolutamente tudo a cada momento que se passava.

E pra finalizar, eu só queria dizer que amei, amei demais, amei muito e pra toda vida vou continuar amando essa série e sim, vou rever, olha que NUNCA tive pra paciência pra rever nada, mas dessa vez eu prometo pra mim mesma que vou, e espero que no dia que isso acontecer, seja daqui um, dois, quatro ou seis anos, eu sinta novamente tudo isso que estou sentindo hoje... Obrigada aos diretores, aos escritores, aos atores, a todos que participaram direta ou indiretamente pela construção dessa série. Por último, parabéns a todos, realmente alcançaram algo que eu nunca vi antes produzido no universo BL.

A coming of age LGBTQ+ story, less of of a BL

I had already watched a lot of BLs before seeing ITSAY, and I was already late to the party because I saw ITSAY in January 2023 (soon after Viki released it). I immediately saw that it was unlike the BLs I had seen before, more of a coming of age LGBTQ+ story about two boys in Phuket. I immediately fell in love with the scenery, the MCs and the rest of the cast, esp. Bas and Hoon. These two were the perfect support for our two MCs whose lives were undergoing such momentous changes.

Having seen several lakorns, what struck me about ITSAY were the understated motions, subtle eye & facial movements, the softly spoken word. Then, we are treated with incredible cinematography and the corresponding music. My heart was all over the place with sadness, joy, laughter, angst, anger.

I get that Teh and Oh are imperfect characters. That's what makes them interesting and relatable to me. At that age, I was similarly selfish & selfless, wanting intimacy & dreading vulnerability and was loving & insufferable. Just Like Teh and Oh, I was a contradiction unto myself.

Writing to raise the criminally low ratings

ERM 8.2 for this masterpiece?? NOT ON MY WATCH.

ITSAY is a classic, a must-watch ThaiBL for good reason. It has heart wrenching and artistic scenes with gorgeous cinematography. It makes you feel and then go numb after simply because you fall into post-drama depression. It is a true masterpiece in terms of acting, music, cinematography which is EXTREMELY rare to find in ThaiBLs.

The only reason ITSAY gets 9.5/10 and not 10/10 is cos I'm anal and refuse to believe anything can be perfect (Although ITSAY, honestly is to closest thing to perfection imo)

It surpasses the mere label of being a Thai BL, as it possesses all the qualities necessary to rival any general Thai series out there. It is akin to a captivating movie, cleverly divided into parts to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The director, crew, cast, music, background, cinematography, and even the actors' minimalistic makeup all contribute to creating an incredibly realistic atmosphere. Every aspect of this series is executed flawlessly, without any unnecessary exaggerations or over-the-top elements. It is a perfect amalgamation of emotions, skillfully portrayed through beautiful and subtle movements and intense gazes.

Refreshing change

Excellent BL drama and a refreshing change in the genre, delving deep into the psyches of teenagers and love, with all its complexities.

The angst and heartache are brutal and takes one back to those years when we too experienced the same feelings.

I admit to being a little frustrated with the character of Teh - felt like giving him a kick up the backside at times but he was going through some major stuff himself, with emotions all over the place. In fact I actually felt so much empathy for the character.

Brilliant acting, great location shots. Wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Sangat berwarna dan bercahaya

I Told Sunset About You biasa disingkat sebagai ITSAY, merupakan sebuah film bL thailand yang sangat terkenal. Walaupun tidak ditayangkan langsung di Youtube, namun sekarang series ini sudah tersedia di Netflix. Menceritakan seorang anak laki-laki bernama Teh yang bersaing dengan temannya bernama Oh-aew ketika masih kecil ; awalnya mereka berdua mungkin menjadi sepasang teman dekat, namun seiring berjalannya waktu ada beberapa faktor yang membuat Teh menjadi iri kepada Oh-aew karena Oh-aew seolah-olah memiliki banyak hal yang diinginkan oleh Teh sedangkan Oh-aew sendiri tidak begitu memerlukannya ; dengan kata lain Oh-Aew mendapatkannya secara cuma-cuma karena karunia tuhan. Gap time terjadi ketika masa anak-anak mereka berdua berpisah, dan bertemu kembali ketika waktu transisi mereka akan menjadi mahasiswa, mereka berdua sedang berjuang untuk masuk ke Universitas unggul yang mereka cita-citakan. ITSAY menceritakan mengenai persaingan antar dua tokoh utama yang entah kenapa mengandung banyak makna di dalamnya, pengemasan setiap scene mudah dimengerti ; apalagi dengan kombinasi warna yang sangat epic ; nyaman di mata dan menampilkan suasana vintage yang modern, walaupun menampilkan suasana yang tradisional seperti kostum drama rakyat dll. Ada beberapa bentuk denial yang ditampilkan Teh di series ini yang membuatnya menjadi kuat, dan hubungan Teh dan Tan (wanita) juga menjadi kekuatan membangun cerita ini menjadi lebih menantang - apalagi Teh di sini terlihat seperti seorang pria straight biasa, sedangkan Oh-Aew mempunyai chemistry karakter seorang gay yang menyukai laki-laki ; namun Oh-aew seperti tidak bisa menerima kenyataan bahwa dia seorang gay. Cerita ini mengandung banyak makna yang berkesan, saya sangat merekomendasikan series ini untuk kalian tonton.

Ça fait une quinzaine d'années que je regarde des BL, mais aucun ne m'a bouleversée comme celui-ci. La réalisation est superbe, ça change des productions large public. La série est très intimiste par son scénario et sa cinématographie, c'est vraiment rare d'avoir les deux en même temps dans cette industrie. Les acteurs sont tellement excellents... Billkin et PP ont une alchimie à couper le souffle. Entre la saison 1 et 2, on arrive à percevoir leur évolution en tant qu'acteurs et évidement dans leurs personnages. L'histoire est bouleversante de réalisme. Pour peu que vous soyez un poil sensible ou empathique, vous allez pleurer, c'est garanti haha. L'histoire est si déchirante et belle, c'en est presque éprouvant pour les spectateurs. Sans rire, je vais pas m'en remettre. J'espère revoir BKPP ensemble sur d'autres projets d'envergure, ils sont vraiment incroyables et talentueux. ♡ Et j'espère tomber de nouveau sur une série BL aussi belle et bien réalisée.

I told sunset about you

This series was amazing. The acting. The story. The way you can watch it over and over and it still feel fresh. The music.

The music in this series was amazing and I still have it on my playlist to this day. The acting was well done and they really made the viewers understand how they felt in the situations. The story was very unique and interesting.

Definitely a 10/10 and would recommend for anyone as their first bl. Not only was it a bl but the plot explored more than just that and just didn't stick around the bl factor and made the whole series based on that. It had amazing plot not only for the main characters but also for each and every support character and guest role.
