The beginning - unreal choice made by a group of adults

We're back to the beginning scenes of the whole drama.I find the choice to cover things up quite unrealistic.
One person could've made such choice but 6 people that do not trust each other? I'm not convinced.
The lawyer knows that it's a crime to cover this up and still goes for it. I know that their kids abused the girl but is trying to sweep it under the rug worth the risk? I don't think so.

Also where is the staff? Nobody else whitnessed what happened?

Oh well.. let's just ignore it and enjoy the drama :)
