Beware of Female Lead poor acting skills

The plot was meant to be light so they superficially brushed topics like sexual harassment, power struggle and bullying in the work place. ML character appear to be strong but in fact he was very submissive,. Example can be seen in his response to the blackmail by 2nd FL. He broke every promise made to FL to hide dark past. The Female lead in turn was too naive and headstrong. He stupidity caused her to fall in every trap her rivals laid for her.

The female lead acting was so bad. She's on top of my list of worse actor. I watched the second episode hoping for some improvment. Even the handsomeness of the male lead and the fabulous work everone else put in could not save her. OH my boss, was my first time seeing her on the big screen, I researched her other works, they were of the same claiber. That's why I plan to avoid any drama that she stars in.

The Truth

Okay so here is the truth about this show. It is an amazing show coming from a person who watched a fanmade video then comes to the comments of Drama list. Seeing how bad most of the comments are. You just have to watch it for yourself because everyone has a different opinion about this drama. The comments can be misleading about what is actually going on in the drama. I watched a youtube video on this drama and I can understand why they said that. But I don't think they actually watched the whole drama. I loved it!!! So if you are looking for a comment to tell you to go watch for yourself. This is the comment. GO WATCH IT!!!

Light and enjoyable

It is a boss and secretary romance with a male lead tragic past which is also not very major. So the plot is really basic and has very little content.
The male lead at first is very confusing and somewhat irritating but later on everything becomes alright.
According to thai dramas, all the aspects were similar, like, the acting was alright ( could be improved ). But what I liked is unlike many popular thai dramas, this drama has not portrayed consent violation as romantic. Moreover, I have not found any consent violation in the drama (point it out to me if I am wrong coz' its really important)
The story is really light, so basically gets a bit boring which calls for a very average rating, still I rated it high enough due to the normalcy found in between the couple unlike most thai dramas I watched, where there is rampant consent violation, stalking and alike being presented as romantic or 'normal'.

Boring

Story line is good but I think direction is not good . At the starting episode had shown that the female lead among friend is extrovert but among strangers is introvert so when male lead approach near her so why she didn't show any objection and instead of it she did mind calculation to judge him but not stopping him to come to near her and starting falling for him . Their company handle japanese stuff but not a single speak japanes more often . Boss and assistance's love the way started is seemed to be very fast , It should be little slow then when misunderstanding was created between them should stretch little more but on the moment misunderstanding started at the same moment it solved . Above all leads actings I really don't like but all supporting characters were good .Leads didn't bring expression properly on their face according to the situation .

THIS IS BETTER THAN WHAT PEOPLE SAY !!!

After reading some of the reviews I've seen people call this show cheesy and comment on the poor acting skills. I want to start by saying that Luke Voyage aka Luke Ishikawa Plowden is not only from America but Thai is not his first language. This was his first major role and being that Thai isn't his first language he did a pretty awesome job. He also had to learn Japanese for the role so he did major studying and practicing on the sidelines to prepare. A lot of people aren't appreciating the effort he put into this role nor the lack of experience he has with acting overall. Everyone has to start somewhere and for him to get over all the hurdles and still make a decent lakorn is quite impressive. I'd also like to mention that this is NOTHING like LOVE PHANTOM. I saw people mention that over and over, but Love phantom was honestly horrible and it made no sense. It went from 0 to 1000 in a matter of one episode. This drama definitely has more substance than that, a better storyline, and it even comes with a TWIST!

I also want to comment on the actual story line I saw a lot of people shitting on the storyline saying they've seen it before, but this show actually comes with a twist. I think the problem is the way it's introduced can confuse many watchers. At first glance you think the show is one way but it turns out to be another.

PLOT TWIST DONT CONTINUE READING BECAUSE I'M SPOILING THE ENDING
The problem I personally had with the show is the way they progressed Luke's Character. As him and the Noonmnin started dating the audience starts to see that he's hiding more than we expected. Most could have guessed this since we saw many scenes where an unnamed woman kept calling him and then she shows up to his apartment while Noon is there. We can obviously suspect they had some kind of either romantic or innate relationship in the past by the way this mysterious woman comes on to him. I don't think there's anything wrong with that because in a rom drama there's often a person put in place to make the other jealous and to cause tension. The issue is where the producers and writers take this drama leaves everyone confused.


HERE IS THE TWIST !!!!!

It's not even that Akitsuki had a previous relationship with this woman he was her secret prostitute. Now listen.. this would have been mind-blowing and cool if they introduced it better, but it also seems so thrown together at the end. They finally tell the backstory of Akitsuki towards the end which leaves many of the audience confused. The story totally went a different direction than expected.


WHAT I'D DO DIFFERENTLY :)
Okay so this drama would have been a lot better if they'd make the BOSS more dark and mysterious. In some scenes he's super aggressive, but it isn't consistent. He also lacks the edge and darkness that's needed if they want to reveal a huge secret like the fact that he was a male prostitute at the end. They made him to lovey and bubbly throughout the lakorn so when they dropped the bomb on us that he was a prostitute it just seems like it came out of nowhere. I'd also like to say again that this was not all of Luke's fault as he did his best with what he had and for someone who had to learn two languages for this role I truly think he did better than most people would.


In conclusion I'd take everything I wrote into consideration before watching this lakorn, but I definitely recommend it!

It could have been better.

Judging from the title I could envision what the storyline would be and I was indeed right. The plot was certainly cliché but the chemistry of the ML and FL is there so props to them. I even find myself smiling when I watched this drama. I think the characters could have been better especially the portrayal of the FL like what are you doing girl why are you such a people pleaser. The male lead saved his performance because of his good looks so despite the half baked acting it was ok and bearable to watch. This was also his first lead drama so he has a lot of room to grow. I am still contemplating if I'll finish this drama or what because halfway through ep 10 I'm already bored. I did not have that urge to keep watching because I was not hooked by the endings of each episode. This drama could have been better it could have been more funnier or sexier but for it to just sit in the middle just doesn't work well for me. All in all it ok.

interesting premise that lacked build up and tension

i feel like the show had potential but they filled it with cute cringe moments and it all began too early. i think many people feel the same but once characters get into a relationship and there is not as much tension the show isn’t as interesting. this is more in enemies to lovers but i fee like this is the same. there was not enough tension and build up between the main characters which lead into an uninteresting transition into their relationship. when he asked her to be his gf i was like … oh is that it. it was good to get a break from toxic MCs but as i didn’t finish the show, the guy seems a bit sceptical so he could be hiding something. i could not continue the show as it started to feel like a waste of my time. the ML was very good looking and has potential to make it big in the lakorn industry with more experience. Luke is new to acting so I understand why his performance wasn't amazing. He did well using his eyes to show certain expressions, other than that there is room for improvement.

Nada de conto de fadas

A personagem de Noomnim foi muito bem escrita e sua personalidade nao mudou do começo ao fim, isso tornou o drama sem muitas surpresas, um pouco chato às vezes mas o telespectador já sabe como ela vai agir.

É um drama com muitos personagens e histórias concentradas no meio de negócios no escritório então não sai muito desse escopo nem quando conta partes da vida pessoal dos personagens tudo é voltado a trabalho e ao sonho de ser alguém e ter uma vida estável. A funcionária recém admitida para vaga de tradutora que tenho perfil nítido de sonhadora e apaixonada secretaria de livros de bolso, não foi uma mulher super inteligente e experiente que colocaram como protagonista então por diversas vezes ela vai falhar e vai se desculpar por isso não espere nenhuma mulher maravilha depois ela não será ela vai chorar vai se desesperar vai ser enganada será assediada e vai desmoronar e vai se levantar com uma atitude bonita.
Até quando ela compartilha detalhes da sua difícil vida com o seu chefe nenhum momento ela se apoia nele preguiçosamente para que ele resolva os seus problemas ela tem uma postura de quê Ela deve resolver tudo e é muito reservada com problemas da vida pessoal e familiar e isso segue até o fim da trama. O que é legal porque não mostra uma mulher frase em defesa em busca de um homem para se encostar.
O grande chefe tem uma beleza realmente impactante Esse é o primeiro papel principal de Luke Voyage, que de outros papéis que já vi dele como secundário esse Pareceu ser bem difícil até porque a personalidade história do personagem japonês é bem contraditória e logo se entende que o "boss" é uma peça de peao, na grande jogada empresarial. Isso torna esse drama bem diferente de todos os outros onde sempre mostra um chefe Super Poderoso, que não fica abaixo de ninguém, nesse boss acaba se ajoelhando e pedindo perdão, revelando uma pessoa muito humana, com seus problemas e dificuldade então não ficou nada surreal.

E nesse drama tem muitas picuinhas e armações mas também conta muito sobre histórias de vida e fala muito sobre a falta de respeito que existe dentro do Meio corporativo sobre pessoas que usam a deficiência do outro para não expor a sua e mostram pessoas muito boas que se preocupam em manter o ambiente de trabalho em harmonia .
Deixo como últimas considerações que o drama não é ruim porém não assistirei de novo espero que Luke Voyage faça outros produções como principal , a atriz principal é muito legal tambem.
Assistam my Boss esse romance bem água com açúcar.

Os primeiros seis episódios estavam com um ritmo bem legal eu estava amando, mas depois disso ficou meio “blé” e as atitudes do Koji só me fez passar raiva, minhas expectativas diminuíram porque o que parecia que seria fofo e bem romancezinho, começou a ter atitudes tóxicas e irritantes.

As atuações não são das melhores mas também não são das piores, esse é o primeiro papel principal do Luke o que dá pra entender ele não ser 100% em todos os momentos, já a Mook é veterana e achei bem mais ou menos sua atuação (ainda não vi nenhum outro trabalho dela pra comparar).

O fato do drama ser ambientado em um local de trabalho tinha tudo pra ser um ótimo romance de escritório porém não foi tudo isso, tiveram boas cenas fofas mas não foram suficientes.

Oh My boss não é ruim mas também não é tão bom.
