This is the second time I watched this drama, as I remembered it being really good.
this is truly a beautiful drama, full of emotions (sad, happy, playful, hurtful) the acting was great and story very realistic and addictive.
the chemistry between all the characters is very intense, you really enjoy and get involved with all of their emotions.
For someone looking for a light comedy, this one is not for you. On the other hand, if you want to watch a lovely romantic melodramatic story, you will really enjoy it.

The story is not out of the ordinary. However there was enough angst to keep me watching. The ending was a little too open ended for my liking.

The acting was exceptional because all the characters made me feel thier pain. Special shout out goes to Lee Kyu Han for his ability to portray a nice guy who can quickly change into a scary dude. I really liked him in smile you too. I want him in a starring role where he actually gets the girl though! I first seen Eric in Spy Myung Wol. I have to say I liked him in QSS even though he is a jerk for most of the time. He is starting to grow on me.

The music is hip and also emotional so it really went well with the scenes.

Rewatch value is low because the plot was not special enough for me to want to watch again.

Overall this drama is very good but was missing some things to make it spectacular...

The synopsis for this drama is a bit confusing. I was hesitant to start watching it, because it looked like it was going to be too complicated, but I realized that the synopsis is a little different than what I first thought. Basically, this drama is about having to choose between two things: Love and Money. Throughout the first part of the drama, I really enjoyed it, and kept watching episode after episode. There was romance and crazy situations that made for a highly entertaining watch, but the emotion of the drama changed as a whole around the 10th episode. The characters personalities changed as well; from straight forward and cocky, to passive and ignorant. It felt like I was watching an entire new drama entirely. The change wasn't too bad, but when I started watching this drama, I wanted to see a romance, not what the drama turned into, all about the moolah. The acting was good. There wasn't one character I could not like, and the difference with this drama and others is the fact that there isn't a "bad guy". In a sense, every main character had a good and dark side to their personalities, so it made the drama a bit more realistic in characterization. There wasn't only one type of music throughout this drama. It changed quite a bit. (I personally thought that there was better and more music in the first half of the drama) The music is what I like to call coffeeshop-esque. It had the feel of what you might here in a coffeeshop. I wouldn't really rewatch this drama. I was disappointed with the ending, so I wouldn't want to rewatch it, but on a nonbiased level I thought that the ending was nice. It was sweet and simple, and words weren't needed to explain how things ended(I wish there was more romance :P). Overall, Que Sera Sera is a decent drama, that I think should have more recognition. It's not the best in all aspects, but it kept me hooked until the very last episode where I literally stayed up all night to finish it. It was sweet, and dramatic. I think Que Sera Sera is worth watching if you're wanting to see a heartfelt romanctic sort of drama.

You hate it or you love it. I was touched deep in my soul. The ending was beautiful. The whole series felt like a piece of art. I'm sure many people think it was depressing or the characters were not likeable. Maybe that's true, but so what? I'm an author and my latest book wasn't received very well. They said the characters were bad, they didn't like the development etc. What should I say? I thought it was one of the best books I ever wrote.
I watched this series years ago and now I'm back to write something about it. That proves how much I cannot get it out of my head. I'm not the biggest fan of romance dramas anyway, but this one was worth watching.

Let me just get this out if the way: I. LOVE. ERIC. MUN.!!!! I watched this after AOHY bc I've rediscovered my fondness for him but man, did this drama solidified my love for him. He does intensity SO WELL and I loved every minute of it! Que Sera Sera is the very definition of angsty-melo kdrama. If you wanna watch some extreme angsty romance, this is for you!

(SPOILER/TRIGGER WARNING: Beware though as there was a very mild display of sexual assault and violence in a scene midway through the drama)

---

The good:
- acting!!! All four main leads did such a great job at portraying their characters unapologetically! Eric was so intense and just so...perfect for the role!! Granted, he was still new to acting during this but he still delivered so well, I couldn't even imagine anyone playing the role other than him. Yumi was so perfect for the role of innocent yet frank Han Eun Soo. There were some embarrassing things her character said yet Yumi delivered in such an endearing way that u don't even wanna feel embarrassed for her, u just empathize. I won't elaborate on the two second keads but they also did such wonderful jobs!

- THE CHEMISTRY!!! AHHHH I never expected to fall for these two's chemistry SO HARD. I watched this despite just finishing AOHY where I loved Eric and SHJ's chemistry, I was not fond of Jung Yu Mi either but omgosh these two created magic!! The innocent Han Eun Soo + intense Kang Tae Joo was just chemistry explosion!!! I wish it had more lovey dovey and make out scenes from them but alas. Good thing they were paired up again on Discovery of Love!!!

- characters are all flawed and aware of it. No one is playing the victim and no one is oblivious about anything.

- the drama, plot and script are so unapologetic. It's like, here's out story, whether u like it or not, it's up to you but this is how we want it done and we ain't changing anything about it. There were scenes where I just like, oh f*ck THEY WENT THERE!!!!

---

The not-so-good:
- Yumi's hair - what the actual f was that??? I didn't find it that bad for the first 10 eps but it got worse!!! It didn't even look good in the first place yet it got even worse as the drama closed the ending!!

- too angsty by ep 12. Just...so much misery. I mean, I liked it but... it's just too painful. Esp since there's no breather. It just keeps going and it hurts.

- the ending. UGHHH. Not bad; not good either: it has that kind of ending. After all the pain I've been through, unassurance is what I'll get?? Oh hell nah. Good thing eric & yumi reunited in a new drama years later!

--

This review is messy bc i lack sleep today. This drama is now one of my faves mainly bc of the intensity of KTJ & HES! I'll definitely rewatch up to ep 10 lmao! I am now a fan of Jung Yumi and DEFINITELY a fan of Eric Mun! Ahjussi, pls hurry up with your Shinhwa comeback and do another drama for us after!!

There is something about Eric Mun making douchebags likeable and endearing.

Que Sera, Sera was an interesting drama. It tended to show the dark fringe side of someone's character. Even someone as innocent and naive as Eun-soo got darker and more stubborn as the series progressed. It’s something one should expect in a drama about jealousy-fueled emotional abuse, the hard part of love and money. That’s something that’s consistent throughout the series. It can be off putting to some viewers who may have expected more straight-foward romantic melodrama. And sometimes the story does tend to get wishy-washy at times which didn’t help things, but this was a well made - excellently directed - drama headlined by 4 actors who held up their weight to carry the story along. Kang Tae-joo is the main character we follow, eventually turning to Eun-soo as the series progresses, and quite frankly, he’s not a great person. Tae-joo is belligerent, rude and arrogant. He’s not nice to the lovely Eun-soon and messes around with her several times, and he's only really driven by having a nice, money-filled life but he's also someone who learned from his actions, has deep regrets and thoughts and becomes a better person despite his actions saying the opposite. The story of Shin Joon-hyuk is acinating. He is quite clearly the better person over Tae-Joo but due to his insecurity and jealousy towards Eun-soo and Tae-joo’s past relationship, he is just as manipulative and spiteful as the bastard Tae-joo. Cha Hye-rin is an odd duck. She is initially interesting with her unique ways of living her life but she is prolly the weakest out of the four. There isn’t a lot of character depth compared to the others. The acting was strong with Jung Yu-mi standing out to me. She had to portray a seemingly simple character that changes naturally due to her environment. She turns from someone who’s innocent, as Tae-Joo calls her, to someone who’s more knowledgeable about life, responsibility, pessimistic about love and more nihilistic in general. There are a lot of nuances that need to make this work naturally.

The story wasn’t perfect. There are some moments that are awkward and doesn’t really make a ton of sense - like Tae-joo and Eun-soo’s reunion before they spit again - but it's a show with a lot of twist and turns that are compelling, mostly.

Honestly I never expected a 2007 drama to be this intense. This one is quite different from the rest. Description is apt. I wanted to punch male lead many times. Four different individuals, four different ideologies and their messed up lives. This drama is one perfect drama of imperfect lives. I loved how imperfect everyone is. I liked how this showcased the realistic approach of thoughts. There are many life lessons if you look carefully.

Truthfully I decided to watch this because of Lee Kyu Han. He's one of my favorite underrated actors. This one is quite different from the rest of his characters. He portrayed it really well. Eric is so good in this. Everyone lived their characters well. Loved the main leads chemistry. I'm going to watch Discovery of love again. I can't get enough of them.

Music is so good. Loved it so much. I don't know if I'll rewatch this as my plan-to-watch list is so big. But I might sometime in the future if I crave something intense.

Finally this is a good drama with real kisses, intense chemistry and a good story.

DILUTED CHARM

It's strange, I rarely write reviews on dramas I've dropped but Que Sera Sera is different.
It has one of the most classic and fascinating plots, and it's worth watching in the first half.
The 2nd half is where the problem begins, it turns into a disdainful melodrama which is pathetic to watch.

The writing is top-notch although it fades away in the 2nd half.
All 4 characters have been given equal screenplay time which is fascinating to even think of.
The tone is solemn,
What Irked me most is the fact that it starts with a fixated plot but the change of characterization into disdain is pathetic.
It ruined the drama for me enough to drop it.
There could've been a different timeline for this drama to achieve much more success , sadly it focused on the pity part .

~ Also this is the first time in a drama where the 2nd FML had complete domination over FML simply due to her role.
She was better at acting, better dialogues.
FML was shadowed by the 2nd FML.

~ Coming to the soundtracks, My goodness where do I start, the sound director of this drama deserves an award.
Such great soundtracks, you could literally feel the jazz and pop theme around the mid-2000s.

Overall this drama is a great package, the ending is predictable still worth watching in the 1st half.

PS: Some people who're overly sensitive might feel the intensity of this drama, but that's how people are.
Remember this isn't a fancy drama, it's a toned drama based on realism at times, it's not the best out there but it's fun to watch.

STORYLINE: 8.5/10
Que Sera, Sera – English translation “Whatever will be, Will be” self explains the gist of this drama. This is the first (and only one to date) that I was actually rooting for both main guys to get the girl. The story follows the meeting of the four main characters (two females and males); the choices they make in regards to get that they want (whom they love) or help the one they love. With this understanding the development of the drama is based as each character copes with their decisions in order to concur love. After each character meets one another, each episode provides a new development to the four way love square. As partner changing kept occurring, I started questioning each character’s feelings and purpose for their decisions which motivated me to carry on watching and I was truly not disappointed by the conclusion. The suspicion of whom ends up getting the girl is carried out so effectively that the plot seems relatable.

CHARACTERS: 9/10 - ACTING: 9/10
Despite Han Eun Soo (Jung Yu Mi) and Kang Tae (Eric) have never experienced love, their personalities differed. Kang Tae portrays confidence and knowledge in the area of dating but the catch is he only dates rich females, whereas on the other hand Han Eun Soo is clueless. Funniest moment is when Han Eun Soo has her first kiss and she asked for another; her innocence provides the comedic essences of the drama. Cha Hye Lin (Yoon Ji Hye) character is of a spoilt rich girl with brother issues but surprisingly she learns to acknowledge that you do not always get or deserve everything you love whereas Shin Joon Hyuk (Lee Kyu Han)’s calculative personality is definitely the source of the path of the drama. As rightful his worries were rightly placed which makes you feel sorry for him and better understand why his character becomes so hush and demanding. Shin Joon Hyuk’s insecurity is the main reason this drama stood out. For his insecurities are both relatable and reasonably placed.
A quick highlight of the non-main characters are the parents, specifically the mothers especially Han Eun Soo’s mother (Geum Bo Ra) whom displays the lack of pride with her money dilemmas.

MUSIC: 7/10
The use of music was well used at necessary places that i even managed to correctly predict when a suspence or calming tune was going to be played. However, K drama makers should really start acknowledging the English songs used in dramas mainly because I was left humming along on those I weren’t familiar with.

LIKED – The acting abilities of each actor.
DISLIKED – Eun Soo’s mother’s always involving/ recruiting her to gain money and Eun Soo’ push over personality.

CONCLUSION:
You should definitely watch this drama if you enjoy genres such as ROMANCE - hint of COMEDY - FAMILY – LOVE – JEALOUSY.

Because life goes on, and you deal, and if you're very lucky, you get a second chance.

This drama caught me by surprise with its mature, thoughtful and challenging story. It doesn't go out of its way to cover up a character's flaws; it in fact brings to our attention that yes, in reality a person can be weak and it is not uncommon for someone to pick wealth and power over love.

I was often frustrated with the choices the characters made in this drama, but no matter how I disliked the pain they inflicted on themselves and on others due to their selfishness, I loved how each character eventually chose to take the better path.
This drama won me over with its insights, raw emotion, realism and understated, natural and powerful acting.

The cast is excellent from start to finish, especially the four leads. Eric Mun is amazing as Kang Tae Joo, his performance is raw and emotionally charged. Jung Yoo Mi's Han Eun Soo, is at turns vulnerable, resilient, petty, annoying, weak and yet so heartbreaking... a strange mix but she makes it work beautifully.
The two leads are really flawed and make bad decisions, they are not very likable compared to the usual main leads in other Kdramas, but that's what makes this drama special in that it's brave enough to not be pretty.
Yoon Ji Hye's Cha Hye Lin portrays the pampered princess with a chip on her shoulder amazingly well, her character shows a lot of progress and development at the end of the story.
I must give a very special mention to Lee Kyu Han, his portrayal of Shin Joon Hyuk is flawless; I can safely say that this is the first time ever that I rooted for the second male lead right up to the very end. His character is the most balanced and his decisions make sense and you always understand where he's coming from, he's consistent and magnanimous right through to the end.

Que Sera Sera will not suit everyone's taste - but if you're lucky enough to fall in love with this story, I'm confident that it will leave a lasting impression as it has with me.

The music in this drama is very eclectic as coupled with the shows OST, there is a consistent backdrop of the soundtrack to 2007, literally.

Overall score 9 out of 10

Story: Typical 2000 or so plot with your innocent plain girl and playboy who totally ignores the girl's feelings in order to satisfy his needs and his hunger for fame and money, basically. The plot started off with the two despising each other until they care for each other, although not in ways that can be considered "usual" in real life. It had it ups and downs and predictable moments and in my opinion the writer focused too much on some stories that should need less time instead of focusing on some other aspects. I guess that was his aim, to portray a story that was more crude and realistic and had less of the fairytale side because life cannot be planned and we aren't guaranteed to get our happiness at the end.

Acting/Cast: No doubt Eric is a star and lately is living his moment of success again. He is such an outstanding actor and is able to portray realistic characters. His Kang Tae Joo was a guy who mistreated women and didn't care because his only aim was money and whatever money could buy. At times he was really narcisisstic and egoistical that you could believe he was really like that. He was able to show us the redemption of his character. Although I would have loved more development on his part, I felt like how he acted and the consequences of what he did showed the audience that thing I talked about earlier, that life doesn't always go like we want. He and Jung Yu Mi had an amazing chemistry on screen and I loved their interactions; they were able to transpire passion on a korean drama because of their not-so-standard kisses for a drama of 2007. Jung Yu Mi portrayed Han Eun Soo well too, although at times I felt this character was flat because she was silent and often closed herself to the world. The other protagonists did a good job as well even though they were despicable in some parts.

Music: Catchy song in the beginning and on most of the previews at the end of the episodes, also a nice tune for the scenes of the main couple.

In conclusion, this is a good drama but I wouldn't rewatch it because I think it's repetitive and at times cannot be interpreted well. There were some parts that made me roll my eyes because they weren't explained like you would expect, but nothing compared to other dramas. I would suggest to watch this drama if you love the main actors or you love melancholic stories with a usual plot but not a usual storytelling. It is a very mature drama so if you're looking for a romcom or something with laughs, this is not a drama for you.
