Same as Dr. Romantic

Two three things were different from first season . Firstly to make mother happy ,to make her satisfy Lee Sung Kyung's character suffers a lot . She even told her mother that she was doing too much ,she never asked her that what she like or what she doesn't like . What things make her happy . So I am happy with her decision that she started listening her inner voice.
My favourite character is So Ju Yeon's character . Happy face . I enjoyed watching her acting and her pairing with Kim Min Jae .
About story same as Dr. Romantic same type of hurdles with new characters and their mini story .
Acting were good.
Not a boring one.

Finding your own answer as a doctor

This is a sequel of Dr. Romantic. One doesn't have to watch Dr. Romantic to follow and like this series, though it would certainly help. Teacher Kim and most of the supporting cast came back to reprise their roles. The newly added ones are our newly identified mentees of Teacher Kim in this season, Dr. Seo (portrayed by Ahn Hyo Seop) and Dr. Cha (portrayed by Lee Sung Kyung) as well as a hospital director Dr. Park.

Perhaps because of my bias towards both main actor and actress, I am more invested in this season's story than Dr. Romantic 1. Dr. Seo is a talented general surgeon who is strapped for money. Dr. Cha is a hardworking cardiothoracic surgery whose only, but vital, struggle is getting pass her panic disorder at the operating theatre. Both of them are transferred from the HQ to Doldam Hospital due to respective circumstances (as well as the influence of Teacher Kim), and thus began the journey of these 2 doctors on understanding what "Romantic" at Doldam means.

What I like better than its first counterpart is the chemistry and romance development of the main couple doctors, Dr. Seo and Dr. Cha. Both of them have been rivals since school days - Dr. Seo has always liked Dr. Cha all this while, but respectful and patient with the boundary set by Dr. Cha. He takes care of her in his own subtle way, while she stands up for him when no one will. I like this kind of comradery couple.

Another character introduced in the story is Dr. Park, who became the director of Doldam Hospital. He had a slightly obsessed, one-sided rivalry with Teacher Kim that I could not completely relate to, but his character arc and development is still enjoyable to watch. It depicts the story of someone who is held prison by his own mind, and the moment of seeing him freeing himself from it makes me cheer for Dr. Park.

The one key thing that will always be the highlight and strength of this show is the patient's stories. As the complex backstory of Teacher Kim was mostly fleshed out in Dr. Romantic 1, I feel that this sequel is able to focus more on the patient's case and narrative arc.

With these, I really enjoyed Dr. Romantic 2 and hope that if they do another sequel, Dr. Seo and Dr. Cha would both be back, pretty please?

Took me two weeks after finishing this series to finally writing down my thoughts. As a fan of season 1, I had high hopes to this. In fact, Romantic Doctor 1 remains my top 1 medical kdrama to date. I wouldn't say this one was bad, but I think it's relatively plain compared to its precedent. Nonetheless, the story was well-delivered and I still like the characters, especially familiar ones who remained consistent from season 1 to 2. It's just that, I think I was looking for more? I don't even know what that is. I liked the new characters though, specially Seo Woojin. Like the first season, this drama also made me feel happy because of the characters' bond and satisfaction, because of how things turned out.

I Watched for Ahn Hyo Seop, And I find myself enjoy the drama, despite my allergic to Medical Drama. Yo In Shik is doing a good work here everything in the operation table feels real that at times I can't stomach the scene. Ass usual this writers has a skill and tendency with dramatic setup. That I sometimes giggles because at times it's abit OTT.. But she success to bring out the best in Lee Sung Kyung and AHn Hyo Seop Performances. their background and arc here is really engaging, I wish this drama emphasis more about their story and arc. and less about politic. Back then, I was skeptical about Yo In Shik casting choice. WHo knows Both of these combo hit the jackpot, that I find both of them have so much potential, both of these actor already look passionate in acting here. Give so much nuance and passion to character, that I enjoying this drama thanks to them.

Contrary to so many people who want season 3. If you need season 3, then it's more like fan service to satisfy the fans. I don't think this drama need for that. The entire story basically Kim Sabu is like God. It's like the show credit all the good think in him, and everyone around him is flaws and all. Like basically that's the entire story of this drama is all about his greatness and how it affect people around him and look out of him heck even the villain. And This hospital is the ideal dream about what is the hospital should be, to a pure form .The drama for me is already complete and there is no need to explore more.

A MUST WATCH KDRAMA

this is one of the most amazing dramas i have ever seen i mean i watched more than 100+ kdramas but this will come easily in my top 5. The cast, the ost, the chemistry, the friendship, everything is just amazing in this drama. Kim Sabu is simply the best doctor, mentor and a father like figure to his hospital crew. It even speaks on the important things that happen in a hospital and the struggles of the doctor who h people can't see well. Those who haven't seen this drama they are missing out on this masterpiece.

I liked it better than season 1, but I still had issues with this season

If you are wondering if you should give this show a try, I'd say go for it. Granted, I didn't care for it as much as other people did, but I realize I'm definitely in the minority.

Liked:
1) Dr. Kim was SO MUCH more likeable this season. I didn't care for him at all in season 1.
2) Overall, the acting was better this season. A lot of overacting in season 1. I still didn't care for the acting/character of Im Won Hee as Jang Gi Tae. In everything I've seen him in, he's always too over-the-top.
3) Liked the storyline of Woo Jin and Eun Jae. I liked how they did the flashbacks to them in college. I know this is a medical show and not a romance, but I would have liked to see more of them. It's hard to imagine that much beauty in one place.
4) They spent a little more time with some of the patients in this season, which I appreciated. The more you see a bit of a backstory, the more you can relate. to them and care about them. Case in point, the pregnant woman in the bus accident.
I was glad that they cut down a little bit on the number of times they performed CPR on the patients.
5) Thank you for more screen time for Kim Min Jae. His relationship with Ah Reum was cute, but unnecessary, and pretty unfulfilling.
6) The thugs that owed Eun Jae a favor. They showed a little bit of heart to counteract the over-abundance of bad guys.
7) The writers really developed the Doldam staff's characters, which made me like them and root for them. In this season, I was able to see why they wanted to work there and with each other. I didn't feel the bonding in season 1.
8) Kim Joo Heon as Min Guk - I loved to hate him. Granted, the man seriously needed some therapy, but the actor did a great job of portraying the character's long-standing insecurities and strong at-any-cost ambition (SPOILER - I LOVED that they turned this character around)

Not so much:
1) Oh my gosh, EVERYONE was eavesdropping on everyone else! Someone suggested making a drinking game of it (brilliant idea), but you'd be taking a drink about every five minutes. And what is the point of offices with doors in you can actually hear everything through them? It just made everyone look unprofessional. Add to that the number of people that read stuff on or in other people's desks. Just wow.
2) How many bad guys does one show need!?! The main bad guy returned from season 1, evidently with no repercussions for what he'd done in the past and really, I was never really clear on what his purpose was. He acted like a petulant child that wanted to play with a toy that someone else was playing with. Thankfully, he won't be back in season 3. The lackey that worked for Min Guk, he was just so slimy I had to fast forward through his scenes.
3) Eun Jae's problems with being in surgery - passing out/vomiting. I had multiple problems with this. First, this seemed like a deep-seated thing stemming from the fact that she didn't actually want to go into medicine (I mean, her conversation with her mother, yikes!). Popping anti-anxiety medications like candy right before surgery? No one with any sense of responsibility would do that. She needed to get into some therapy. Then her getting some medication from Dr. Kim and not even caring about what she was taking? She never questioned him about what the pills were. Then, she went around telling everyone she was fine because of the pills that Dr. Kim had given her. This is something that would have gotten them BOTH in trouble. And to have it turn out that she was just taking digestive enzymes? The whole thing was too implausible.
4) Again, bringing people from the main hospital and they only want to do the work they want to do.
5) Do In Bum - he comes back after three years, he still has a locker, and he goes into surgery right away?! He was there to investigate something, not do surgery. I was glad that the antagonism between him and Woo Jin didn't last long, we had enough other people constantly antagonizing others.
6) Doctor Kim still doing surgery. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
7) What was with the Harry Potter Music!?!?!

They did it again! Best season so far

At first, I was a bit hesitant about whether I would like the second season as much as season 1 because of the cast changes, but surprisingly I enjoyed this season even more. I liked how the new cast slowly and with purpose became part of the team, while also growing more respect to dr. Kim. In this season they directed more attention to the backstories of the doctors themselves and how they overcame their troubles, which gave the drama more depth and made the characters even more likeable. This season had 2 love stories and I enjoyed watching them both, even though I was longing for more cute scenes, I found it enough to keep me curious about their relationship.

I found the villains less irritating and more reasonable than in season 1, therefore I enjoyed following the storyline of the villain as well.

Again there were many twists present, but at the end, the whole story came beautifully together, therefore another must-watch.

Korean Grey’s Anatomy :)

Yep this is the Korean version of Greys’ Anatomy :) but minus the kinky scenes, the sleeping around and the lift scenes ;) The medical scenarios were quite gripping, and some far fetched, but the drama centred on the character development of Seo woo Jin and Cha Eun Jae.

There wasn’t much romance- just some hints here and there. So don’t start this expecting a love story. There is a simple kiss scene on the last episode (and a few pecks in earlier episodes) and that’s why they’re known as the Reset couple ;)

The character developments for both leads were interesting, although somewhat predictable, especially the medication for the nausea. What I found a tad boring was the typical chairman and board of directors wanting to overthrow Doctor Kim and Doldam Hospital. It’s the same ol’ story from S1 as well. I sincerely hope S3 will move away from that storyline.

Definitely a good watch and a definitely recommendation :)

Season 2

It took me about 3 episodes to adjust to the new cast members. Once I got into it I binge watched in two days. Other than Dr. Kim being my favorite character the rest of the new doctors really grew on me. I loved seeing Do In Beum back if only for a couple episodes. Also loved the ending. I have to admit I ff’d through a lot of Chairman Do’s scenes. I like the actor but I just hate misuse of power.

Glad to see that Season 3 will start airing in little over two months. Also thrilled that the cast won’t change much.

Story

I loved this story way better than season 1 of Dr. Romantic, I feel like the ending of the first season made sense for the villains motives in season 2. Though he still is petty af for continuing with it but I loved how instead this time he was trying to get the hospital to turn against him and join the hospital in Seoul. I thought the cast was way better this season and had better acting but for some reason once again I found the main girl annoying and not as a good actor as the rest of the cast. I also won't get over how she treated that dude who got killed in the middle of treatment that shit was sad as hell. Once again the romance in this story just never seems to be it for me they try to keep adding it and making it work but it just doesn't work for me. Nevertheless I'm excited for S3 and what ideas they came up with.

Music

Literally can't ever remember any of their tracks

You have to fight for what you love <3

WARNING - THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Story - The storyline was absolutely perfect. 3 students that move to this countryside hospital thinking that it’s a unusual & freaky hospital but once they step into that ER room everything changes. They have doubts about what Doldam hospital has to offer at the start but that gradually changes when Dr Kim & his staff changes their perspective. I can 100% assure you that Dr Romantic ( season 2 ) never bores you out & makes you want to watch what’s next. It’s full of surprises & conflict with a touch of romantic relationships from the workers at Doldam Hospital. You will soon feel a connection to this Drama & you wouldn’t want to stop watching it. But overall this drama is one of my favorites & I would recommend this to anyone. I need a season 3 of this ASAP! Side note - you don’t need to watch the first season too!

Acting/cast -
The cast that were chosen were picked to perfection. They played their roles beautifully & it was amazing to finally see good actors who connect well to their roles in Dr Romantic 2. They weren’t bad or poor acting , they did a fantastic job & I think you will definitely agree with me once you watch this. The romance between Seo Woo Jin & Cha Eun Jae were absolutely thrilling. They had amazing chemistry & love for each other even though they were bickering with each other at times. I loved that & I wish I could see more of their love scenes.

Music -
The music was spot on , I think it was a great variety of songs added to Dr Romantic 2.

Rewatch Value -
I would watch this Kdrama again & I would recommend this to all <3

SPOILERS! ( you will understand these when you get to that part of the Kdrama )
- Cha Eun Jae & Seo Woo Jin kiss through the show but they end up dating in the last episode
- They do end up getting their hospital back in their hands
- It is a happy ending
- Mr Yeo ( the old director) does die in the last episode
- The sweet teenage boy ( VIP) does die too
- They all keep their jobs & no one leaves
- The loan sharks apologize to Seo Woo Jin
- They all live happily ever after :)

This is my first 2020 drama (I categorize CLOY as 2019). So this drama is like my entrance drama for this year 2020, but I was not at all happy/glad/satisfied with this. I think the reason why I did not like it as much is because of the first season, and I can't help but compare the two. The first season was much more convincing compare to this season. One thing that disappointed me as well is the hair style of Ahn Hyoseop, why oh why? He was so handsome in the drama Abyss and I don't really know what happened here. I like Lee Sung Kyung here, I have seen improvements in her acting skills especially that it’s my second time seeing her as a doctor. I like this drama, but I felt that something is lacking.
