This show was awesome. There were a few missed opportunities, like I was anticipating Ryan to greet Dokmi with "Shian-haseyo" and I also wanted for ShiAn to learn of her being ShianIsMyLife, but that never really happened. I could nitpick about how little sense the childhood backstory made (or the bubble series paintings forming a .....), but honestly it doesn't bother me too much, in this genre if the story is not terrible it's already a huge win & good news it's not terrible at all! Except the issues mentioned above it's the perfect romcom show. It checks all the boxes that I want in a kdrama romance. Park Minyong was much better in this drama than in What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, like there is no contest. In WWWSK I felt that the chemistry just wasn't that good & she had some scenes where she looked almost like a wooden woman, I even doubted her acting ability for a while (until watching Healer a few months later that is), but in HPL the chemistry was off the charts & her acting was excellent too. I especially wish to applaud the writer (the manwha artist) for not forcing the love triangle too much..
The OST is a bit average, but it's a good fit for this cheesy romance. The cinematography was outstanding, but lately this is true for almost all new kdramas I watch. Knowing myself I will almost certainly binge watch this again in a month or so.

Lighthearted funny stressless romcom
Life is too short for stressful drama. Why spend all that time watching and be stressed? Don’t our lives already provide enough of that?Summary of the series:
- Light hearted rom/com; series had great flow, no stress watching it
- cute romance
- simpatico characters
- like a little bit of mystery mixed in there with the back history of the abandon child and mishaps
- ML is awful in the beginning, in a cringe manor but as the shows goes on, he get better
- FL is great, like Sec Kim, she carries the series
- no villains really, no long struggles, calamity or miscommunications to cause more drama and stress
- they try to add more story in the last 4 episodes so the truth be told then
- pretty good ending at least it didnt seem abrupt
very fun joyful, stressless series: recommended to watch for sure
If you are looking for gratuitous stress/drama, frequent miscommunications, insipid side stories, then this is not for you.

amazing drama
This drama was AMAZING! Honestly, I think it became one of my favorites. Everything was good, the storyline, the characters, the scenes, the accuracy of fangirls... EVERYTHING. Tbh the only thing this drama needed to be 100% perfect was for Si An to find out that Si Na Gil is Deok Mi... other than that, I loved it so much! Park Min Young and Kim Jae Wook portrayed their characters in such a way that it made it impossible not to love this drama, their emotions shined through the scenes, I could feel their love even though it is just a drama and their chemistry was so good, it did not look like acting AT ALL. It was such a natural relationship!Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Most definitely a mature romance
High EQ (Emotional Quotient) amongst the majority of characters is the highest selling point hence the title Mature Romance, not because of Steamy, half nude sexual scenes. "The Kiss" scene it had, viewers will know what I'm talking about, is WELL WORTH IT, and so aptly built up to that moment. Then characters talk to each other! And avoid all the unnecessary suspense building! Such a novel idea, and saved me so much frustration, man. Even the second male lead isn't blindly in a piss contest with the main one, he too is as emotionally understanding, if not more, than the main. What I love about the writers wit is, they introduce elements like a side-lead, or the lead's old friend from the US, thus making the viewer anticipate that some miscommunicational drama is about to ensue, so you hold your breath, and you hold your breath, and some more, AND IT RESOLVES! By people talking to each other!
Next let's talk about Fangirling, because it's damn normal, and the drama illustrates how. Armys will definitely love it, and all other KPOP stans as well #weStanStans xD. It also touches upon well-established norms/rules within fandoms, and some touchy issues such as Idols dating. The ugly fanatic reaction to it is shown aptly along with how it impacts people's lives. But it also at the same time highlights what a healthy balance could look like - thus allowing the characters to lead their life normally (without breaking any laws and staying safe)
Last, the ART! and the quotes. There was one episode where they compare FanGirling to Art. The paraphrase '"Why do you stan that artist? You could live happily without them, eat happily without them, further your career without them. Why then? " "Well, because now I've given a piece of my heart to them, I've committed so much time, effort and love to them, how can I stop when I know how much I'll be missing in life?" "Exactly, this is why introducing art to children is important, because humans can be happy, content, and successful without art, but without it something is always missing. and to introduce Art to children is to make their lives more fulfilling, more content, more happy, and to give them a chance to not miss out on it"' - And it's so important! One other notable thought that resonated with me is "There is a word for a woman who loses her husband- Widow, for a man who loses his wife - Widower, for a child who loses their parents - Orphan, but for a parent who loses their child? There is no word, because that pain can not be expressed well with just a word" and I'm not lying I ugly cried. :sob:
All in all, an interesting perspective on Art, life, and relationships that everyone could as well learn a thing or two from. Plus a very calm, soothing, drama. Would recommend for a light hearted, feel good Rom-com.

THIS IS SO CUTE
This is just a nice romance story. No cheating spouses, no violence, no gory scenes. It is just to watch drama. Thee ML and FL have great chemistry. He is super hot and she is gorgeous. Both play very likeable characters. Even boh SMLs are adorable. Interesting to see what goes into making museums and exhibitions sucessful. There are a couple of scenes which will bring to your eyes but overall it is a fun watch. The fashions worn by the females characters are interesting. If I were their age I would have fun wearing them.
I would even rrewatch this f I need a happy drama.

Spoiler warning. For the first few episodes, the push-pull is fun, but once the couple gets together, it becomes deadly boring, unless you're the type who likes to watch couples being lovey-dovey in the park. There's also no real substance to the plot, and no real conflict. This is a romcom/love story, as far as I know, so the conflict should be with the actual relationship. But as with most other kdrama romcoms these days, it's fluff over substance. The relationship is picture-perfect and so fluffy and fuzzy that it loses all value, except to the abovementioned park voyeur perhaps. Seems like real conflict has gone out of style in kdramaland. The trend these days is to get the couple together as fast as possible, make the relationship perfect, make it rain fuzz, and then in the end insert a very weird and forced conflict, not with the relationship at all but with the main couple's entangled past (usually with a twist that is as colorless and insubstantial and illogical as the rest of the plot). This then gets easily resolved in one or two episodes and is not only out of sync with everything that came before, but is totally unnecessary and does not provide tension, excitement, or catharsis. And then of course don't forget the obligatory childhood connection thingy -- also totally unnecessary and just casts a creepy, cringey, incestuous shadow over the entire relationship (they were brought up or lived together or treated each other like brother and sister, but fell in love). If this is what the replacement formula is, give me the trusty old cliches -- the third parties and evil mother-in-laws and unrequited love. And the sparing love scenes that were too fleeting but made you feel so much more than these neverending, nauseating fluff-fests. Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Lots of adult kissing
I've never seen a netflix kdrama with this much kissing. I think this is "refreshing" in that it stays true to the fact that the adult characters are confident individually and as a couple. While the main plot is a little shallow, it does tackle acceptance in so many aspects in this show. Also the male 2nd lead is a little creepy. This is my 3rd KJW series after coffee prince and voice. He can really get into character convincingly. Also my 3rd PMY series after healer and secretary kim. Her acting is centered on her eyes i think.

Don’t get me wrong, there are still plenty of lovable kdrama cliches which give it that lovable lightheartedness. Fate, destiny, etc.
The drama just successfully stays away from the ones where the girl becomes dependent fool / arm accessory. Or the meaningless misunderstandings because of third party.
I truly enjoyed this one. I highly recommend you watch it!!

since i watched this kdrama, it became without a doubt one of the best i have seen! it's a kdrama at a level that isn't easy, it's such a healthy and happy couple, that at times you think you might have a fight over the plot and there's no fight, just a healthy conversation!! there's no breakup due to spats or an annoying dilemma that would normally be easy to resolveits negative points are minimal, but something I didn't particularly like and didn't see in a good way, was the protagonist's half-brother (they aren't blood brothers) they know each other since childhood, and the "brother" falls in love with her, that's strange, because he lives with her like brothers in every way and falls in love, that I was disgusted and contemptuous of, but without counting that, kdrama has no faults.
the twist and the plot at the end is really nice to watch, to see the protagonist be so cool and have a good relationship with others is undoubtedly memorable. they are a beautiful couple and they make our hearts warm. it's very funny and easy to see, really very good

her Private life- SPOILER.
I really enjoyed this drama. This is my 3rd rewatch. It's an easy rom-com until even the smallest items becomes significant. For example, Ryan trying to find the Lee Sol paintings turns out to be more than just for collection. We find out that this paintings are tied to his childhood. He was adopted but he saw one of the paintings 3 years ago and he was unable to paint himself. During my 3rd rewatch, everytime I saw the paintings it would make me cry because I understood what they meant to Ryan.Even the father obsession with polishing his rocks was important. I thoroughly enjoyed this drama.

Huge fan of the main cast -holy hotness Kim Jae-Wook!I avoided this series for a long time because I kept reading how "bubbly" and "fluffy" it was, but I warmed up to it realllllly quickly. It was interesting watching Kim Jae-Wook in a romantic comedy because he has such a dark countenance (broody and handsome!) and I just came from watching him in the horror series, The Guest. Still, he did wonderfully and I was 2nd hand embarrassed for him in the physical acting he had to do (but not in a cringy bad way).
The real stand-out for me in the entire series though was DEFINITELY Kim Sun-Young.
She was *so hysterical* and stole every single scene she was in. I just watched her play a gruff, sarcastic, hard-working police detective in The Guardians, so it was a huge change in her role that left me gasping with laughter.
If you have doubts about watching this show, I'd definitely recommend giving it a chance. There are a lot of hysterical scenes that play out, but there is also a healthy romance between two mature adults (which is very refreshing to watch), and a back-story with Jae-Wook's character that squeezes the heart.
