Coming out

Thun coming out to his mum and both of them crying had me crying (don't usually cry) - it was beautifully done. The scene unfolded slowly and was realistic, as he wanted to share and, at the same time, not disappoint. Great acting.

Coming out

This is my favorite episode so far. I don't usually write reviews for a single episode like this, but this one just moved me immensely. First of all can we talk about the beautiful hurt/comfort this series is bringing? My gosh it hurts so good. Second of all the kiss? So tender, so full of mixed feelings - love, care, confusion and sorrow. And then Med suddenly "disappears"??? Oh I think I could die that's sooooo- Anyways what I really wanted to talk about was the coming out portrayal. In a series of any sort, I don't think I've ever been so moved by a coming out scene ever. A lot of it has to do with how sudden and unplanned it was. Thun knew what he was feeling, there was no doubt or uncertainty surrounding that fact, but in a lot of ways I don't think he had processed it before. And when he finally did it all just came pouring out like a waterfall in front of his friends, and it felt so.... perfect? In the sense that it felt realistic and not overdone. He said his part, it was a shock but his friends still support and accept him. - they even made a little joke and it just felt so normal I couldn't help but be floored. It felt a lot like my own coming out in a way, so I guess a lot of this review is simply based on the fact that I relate to Thuns character a LOT. Praifah kind of just disappeared, but I get it, she's heartbroken I wouldn't want to sit down and talk with someone who just (albeit accidentally) rejected me either. What I loved the most was when he told his mom, because it really showed the fear and anxiety that comes with being different - and admitting you are to the ones you love. It is scary, but then sometimes you find out, there was nothing to be scared of in the first place. Thun just broke down in the scene with his mom, it felt like a really cathartic moment for him, to just let it out and not have to hide who he is anymore even though it feels scary and overwhelming and strange. Thun is surrounded by some very open and loving people, which is something I think we all deserve. Just someone to tell you it's okay no matter what. His mom is such a nice character and the way this whole thing played out is a big step away from the typical scenario of homophobic parents and some jealous girl that can't accept it - especially for a series that came out in 2019, though there are several later dramas that are still going down that route (without commenting on the problematic parts of those reactions). I don't know, that's my little thinkpiece on this , I'm gonna go back and actually finish the episode now lol.

Best!!

I have to commend the scene when Than came out to his mother. The acting was on point and not forced. I have seen Ohm in Make It Right and I could say that there was a big jump in his acting skills. This. Performance. Is. Stellar.

Tension

I can't believe this show just outdid itself in all the possible ways. That long-awaited (and short) bit at the start was so satisfactory to watch, but, by far, it wasn't even the best spot from this episode. The tension build-ups that we got in this episode were top-tier, the emotions conveyed through each scene by the entire cast were so sincere and we even got to know a new and kinda polemic character that, of course, was very likeable and her presenting didn't seemed rushed at all. It's so rewarding to watch a promising show blossom into something better with every episode!
