One of the best from GMMTV
This show is honestly one of the best offerings I’ve seen from GMMTV. The cast was perfect and everyone acted brilliantly - especially Jenny. We usually see her as a comedian but she did a total 180 degree turn here and did so well. I loved the action, the exciting plot which kept me on my toes and the friendship between the 3 main cast. This show pushes the boundaries with sex and gender awareness and is such a breath of fresh air. Once you watch the first episode you want to keep watching all the way to the end.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Tiga orang buronan
One of GMMTV's better shows
3 will be free is one of GMMTV's better series with good acting and an interesting storyline. Tay does some of his best acting in this series (in my opinion), and I like the way he portrayed his character. I also like how the character was written, none of the usual BL or gay caricaturist nonsense. Shin is a confident young gay man who knows who he is without shame and internalised homophobia. The character is very cute and Tay manages to pull of a sexy geek. Neo does a very good job as well considering this is one of his first acting roles, and I like how he seems really comfortable with himself, the topic, the character, and just dives in to the role without fear. It was also refreshing to see a pan/bisexual character in a series. Mild is a fairly seasoned actress but this is a somewhat different role for her, and I enjoyed her interpretation as an independent strong young woman who doesn't take crap from anyone. None of this "barbie doll" nonsense you normally get which annoys me. Give us strong independent women! All three main characters are very likeable. The premise and storyline are good. 3 individuals from different backgrounds who don't know each other end up on the run due to circumstances beyond their control. I won't go into too much detail so as not to spoil it for anyone. The story starts quite strong, intriguing and exciting. The cinematography is really good and risks have been taken which in my view have paid off. It feels dark and gritty which I like as it's a refreshing change from the usual perfect school/university/rich surroundings we get from most shows.
I would've given this a higher score if it wasn't for the final episodes and how the story concluded. I think it lost its way a bit toward the end, it's almost like they needed to quickly wrap it up. Parts of the ending got a bit convoluted and slightly far fetched in my view.
A really good series though, and one of my favourites to come out of GMMTV thus far. I think it's quite underrated as well, as most people seem to prefer the fluffy stuff instead, so this hasn't received as much attention as it deserves. I think GMMTV should do more of this type of series and showcase some greater diversity in their programmes. It also gives their actors an opportunity to prove themselves. There's a preference to have "perfect" environments in the shows but this can get a bit tiresome and repetitive. Better to shake it up once in a while and I'm glad they took a chance with this.

CRAZY BUT GOOD CRAZY
'Who gives shit about what others think? Its our life. As long as we don't hurt anyone, whom you love, how you love, how many you love doesn't matter. You do what you want. When you stop living to others expectation , your life would be happier'This drama portrays this beautiful message. When I read the plot, I was really skeptic about it. Usually I don't watch this kind of dramas. Thankfully I decided to give it a shot. I won't say it was not crazy. It was hell crazy but a good kind. At first I thought, the story was outright nonsense. When I started to watch it, I had so many question on my mind like why would shin help them? why didn't they go on separate ways? As the episode progressed the story build up was great. It answered all my questions. I was never a big fan of threesome. Normally I would have judged it. But this drama kind of opened up my mind. I kind of liked the relationship between 3 leads. They loved each other in their own way. I won't say the plot was great. It did have it's flaws but that made the series enjoyable as well. If you are fan of badass female lead dramas, you should definitely check this one out. This one is crazy but you won't regret watching it.

its only half i am tired
1.i really felt like punching those guys who made fun of mae like she is soo pretty. just found out the age difference between madam va and neo like what actors the passion they are showing just finished the first episode and this is what i call a good start and there where 2 dead bodys in the first episode itself i cant wait to see what comes next but i am kinda sad to see phon die i hadd started to like him.2.and i can already see the chemistry overflowing first off all they didn't give shin a chance to speak and then scolded him because he didn't say anything i feel so sad for mae. i don't understand why shin followed what neo said. tur is behaving like he's only job is to kill how selfishly he killed that poor motel owner. "That money is nothing, I have only one son.. His life is the most important" -thana. (Shin's father) . when neo was saying those things to shin it was soo sweet untill noe miw is the most selfish person i have seen and shin the most selfless neo is mix of both no matter how much i love shin neo and miw but i support mae for her plan to take revange.
3. i can understand miw's selfishness is because of her abusive mom. their idea at the checkpoint was just brilliant. its just episode 3 but at this point i really wish they have a baby for real. wow so much talk about gender equality . lets go girl power. i shouted when neo said three is better than two and laughed when miw showed the finger. cant i get a recap of the night you talked about neo . this series is teaching so much about family matters. i pity miw now. aww shin is so innocent. keep on fighting. i really hope things happen faster between the three of them. shin is really thirdwheeling atm. i am loving miw in this mood. third murder how many more to goo. kik and miw are doing the right thing. neo and shin look so much in love already. i think in that pendrive there are all the bad things thana did
4. i am having a bad feeling about neo's brother at least i am happy that miw and neo willnot just use shin as a bait. looks like miw got jelly when they where fighting. omg did mae and tur kill kik and her daughter this is getting too far i was ok with them getting revenge but not going on killing every one who are in their way. i really hope that mae gets some senses into tur. until now leo is ok but lets see.there she (miw) goes being selfish again
ik this is going to be a grate series ahead but now i am at the end of my capacity to think and type

characters had foundation but it wasn't enough for meeee
I heard about this show from oomf and watched it for the polycule and trans character, but I generally didn't know too much about what this show was about besides a cursory search on mdl. Basically, one of the main three characters has a mafia dad and due to reasons in the first episode the main three characters all get in trouble and are on the run. The main other plotlines include a revenge story and more dealings on the father's side. I didn't hate the show and I think the vision and concept was there, but it lacked substance. The running away and getting caught and running away plotline gets tiring after a while. Some of the plot beats are a bit hard to suspend my disbelief for...I don't think this show needed an extravagant or showy plot, but I really wish they took the time to explore the characters and their dynamics more. The foundation is there, but I just wanted more!! I think the romance was rushed, sadly.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Nailbitingly good!
This action packed drama had me on the tip of my seat the entire time. The actors, especially the 3 main leads put down impressive performances individually. But when they combine their efforts in some scenes, the chemistry and sync are truly amazing. These 3 were so well tuned in to each other!
Mostly for this reason I was a bit disappointed with the ending. What the hell was this baby faced guy PP doing back with Shin? Are they not happily living with the 3 of them?
The inner conflicts and struggles are well portrayed. Neo with his feelings of guilt and revenge, Shin with his difficult relationship with his father and Miw with her troubled youth and mother. The complexity of feelings and how to deal is a theme throughout.
This drama is not a BL, or even a romance drama. For me it handles much more the struggle to becoming the person you want to be, despite your environment pushing you in the opposite direction. It is about survival, relationships, how far you are willing to go to protect yourself and those you love.
The scene where dad threatens Miw and Neo while locking Shin in the office looked rushed and unfinished. There could have been more logical, dramatic choices. The surprise at the end of that scene redeemed it somewhat though.
Best performances are from Jennie and Mild. These are women who stand and fend for themselves. Look into their own heart for guidance and take responsibility for their feelings and actions. Real strong women. I love to see it.
Tay and Joss put down the best performance I have ever seen from either of them.
I would love to see a sequel to this. There may be a task here for whoever feels brave enough..

It was amazing
First of all I loved this show a lot! I’ve already seen it a few times and never get bored.Usually I don’t like action shows but it was amazing. I also loved the idea of adding a love triangle and a threesome to the story. It gave me polyamory vibes. I think there should be more shows like this one! I also loved Neos neighbours! They were so funny. There were a few parts in the story where I didn’t quite get what was happening but after watching it again it made sense. I highly recommend watching this series to everyone.
Also pls don’t hate I am not a native English speaker

Must Watch!!!
Live by the Gun, Die by the Gun!!The synopsis for this series doesn't do any justice. There is so much more to the story than three kids on the run from the mafia. In this series, the mafia are not just one dimensional bad guys with no motives for life other than the mob. The mafia men here have lives, feelings, and motives. There is so much more to this than just guns, money, and killing. It's a must watch!
Also this is not a polyamory story, nor does it have a love triangle between the leads. This is just about three people, who learn to love each other for who they are and become a "family." It's more of "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" relationship. There is really no romantic love between any of them... Just a few kisses, hugs, and one night stands though... I'll try and explain it a bit later in the review.
STORY:
Neo, a pansexual stripper with some debt, ends up sleeping with Mafia Boss Thana's new wife. Thana sends some men after him. While on the run he runs into Shin, Thana's gay son, and Miw, a hostess at a strip club. During the scuffle, Thana's wife is killed and Miw accidentally kills, Phon. one of Thana's right-hand men. The three of them go on the run. Ter, Thana's right-hand man who accidentally killed Thana's wife in the scuffle, puts the blame of her death on Neo and informs Thana. Furious, he sends his men after Miw and Neo, believing that they kidnapped Shin and killed his wife. Thana also secretly orders Ter's death for his failure as well. After receiving his orders, Ter goes to inform Mae, Phon's transgender girlfriend about his death. Mae decides to go along with Ter to avenge her boyfriend's death.
Meanwhile, on the run, Neo, Miw, and Shin seek help and shelter from not only others, but themselves. They learn more about each other's lives, their ambitions, and the struggles they've faced. They also learn to love and accept each other for who they are. While Neo, Miw, and Shin's lives are turned dark and upside down, they learn to survive, so that they can one day be free.
This is the long story short. There is so much more action, violence, carnage, and depth to this story it's so hard to explain. Almost every character has a motive and a drive. There is really no character that is just there to push the story forward. Every character has a background that is explained nicely to the audience.
Neo
Neo is one of the main trio. He is the catalyst of this entire plot. He grew up in the forest and moved to the city with big dreams. He has financial issues leading him to work as a stripper and to sell his body to pay for his debt. He is pansexual. He tends to follow his heart rather than his head, which often leads to more trouble. Neo respects and cares deeply for his older brother Leo. When Leo is killed due to his actions, he seeks revenge.
Miw
Miw is the second of the trio. She is accidentally dragged in when she hears a commotion and walks in to Phon and Neo fighting. She picks up the gun terrified and accidentally shoots Phon dead when he tries to retrieve his gun. Unbeknownst to anyone this is her second body count. The first is John's brother, her stepfather, after he raped her. She accidentally stabbed him dead with a pool cue while fighting him off her. She has a bad relationship with her mother because of this and the many men her mother brings home, and was on the run from John when she accidentally got involved in this. Outside of her family issues, Miw is just a normal girl trying to survive and will do anything to survive.
Shin
Shin is the last of the trio. He is Thana's son and was literally just using the bathroom when Neo ran into the bathroom to hide from Phon and Thana's men. Like Miw, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, Neo was Shin's first love, so he just followed Neo to help him out. Unlike Miw and Neo, Shin grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he never felt genuine love. His mother was killed when he was young and his father always rejected his artsy and non-masculine ways. His father always wanted him to be strong and mainly to take over the family business. Shin always had to follow rules and was never given much freedom. Due to always being controlled by his father, Shin is naive and introverted, seeking genuine affection and love. Since no one is keeping him hostage and since he really hasn't hurt anyone, he could walk away from the situation and return home at anytime. Instead he chooses to help Mie and Neo escape from his father wrath since he disagrees with his father's ways.
Neo & Miw
Neo and Miw's relationship built on the fact that they are both struggling to survive. They come from similar backgrounds, yet they do things very differently which causes them to butt heads often. While many may think that they have a romantic relationship, their relationship is very platonic. They are each other's rock and comfort, but nothing more. They grew up in an environment where they can relay nobody but themselves, so when they find that they can relay each other, they seek solace in each other.
Miw & Shin
Miw sees a version of herself in Shin. She looks at him as a little brother. While she will do anything to survive, she wants to set Shin free since she knows what it's like to feel trapped by your family. Miw comforts and gives advice to Shin as an older sister. Similarly, Shin views Miw as a sister. She is his family and he cares deeply about her. She was the first person to really understand him and he values her dearly. Because of this he wants to give her the freedom she deserves after such a hard life.
Shin & Neo
Shin is Neo's first love after they met in art class. Neo views Shin as a friend, rather than a lover. As they go on the run together, they grow closer as Shin learns more of Neo's past. As Neo and Miw grow closer due to their similar backgrounds, Shin gets jealous, but he does see that Neo is happier with Miw, so he backs off. Deep down, rather than getting jealous of Neo and Miw for having a relationship, Shin is more jealous because all of his love and affection is one-sided, but between Neo and Mie it's mutual. Miw often has to remind him that they love him back as well and love is mutual between all three of them. Neo does treasure Shin deeply, but it's very familial.
Neo & Miw & Shin
The relationship between Neo, Miw, and Shin is very complex. While most people will understand that they learn to grow and love each other because of the circumstances they are thrown in together, I don't think many will understand how deep it goes. Only those who have hit rock bottom might understand them well. Working as a stripper or hostess, selling your body, being in debt, putting yourself in a vulnerable position to make money to survive. There is more to this than just watching it on the screen and feeling sympathy for the characters. If you've ever been buried so deep in the mud that you can't breathe, you would know how the characters feel. It's not just about surviving, it's literally life or death. Neo, Miw, and Shin are trapped not only in their situation, but in their lives as well. The small happy moments they share together are the small gasps of air they can breath while they drown. When any of the three characters get intimate with each other, it's the only time they can be themselves and breathe freely. They can't trust anyone else. They can only put their shields down, relax, and be vulnerable to each other. None of them are seeking romance from each other, they are seeking solace. They are looking for a light in the dark.
Ter & Mae & Phon
Ter and Phon are Thana's right-hand men. Unlike most mafia stories where the henchmen have no backgrounds, we learn through them that they are not replaceable robots, but that they have lives too. Through Phon and his love for Mae, we learn that killing and doing bad things have consequences, not only to themselves, but to their family and friends. Mae tells Phon to get out of the mob, Phon is torn between both. He ends up getting killed leaving Mae distraught. Ter is guilt ridden and wants revenge. Mae accompanies him as she has nothing left to live for. As they chase the trio, they start to seek solace in each other, which slowly leads to understanding and romance. Ter, however, still lives by the gun and is eventually killed for it. Mae hits rock bottom and she needs to make a decision to survive.
Ter and Phon's backgrounds show that even our enemies have lives and people who care about them. No lives can be killed without consequence. They even have motives, money, revenge, guilt, etc. Mae, however, is an interesting character. She is transgender, but that is irrelevant to the story. She could be male or female and her role would be the same. She is just like the trio, struggling to survive. While her situation isn't as extreme and dangerous, she is shown to be a normal civilian like us. She is unsatisfied with life and thought she found the right man. When hell burned over, instead of looking for greener pastures, she chose to go down a dark road. Mae shows us that our actions do have consequences. She could have mourned Phon's death and moved on like the average person, but when she chose to avenge him, she chose a road that's hard to return from. Mae hits rock bottom and by the end of the film she's in the same boat as the trio, but instead of having someone to lean on, she has no one.
Leo, Luang, PP, Motel Owner, etc. (All Characters the trio meet)
When you watch this series, pay attention to all the characters the trio meet. Every single person has a background and motive. It's very different from a usual series. They all have motives and desires. They are all struggling and doing what they can, in their power, to survive. I won't explain it all since it'll take too long, but definitely keep your eyes open for all of it.
ACTING:
All the actors were amazing! Every character felt real and you could feel every emotion they felt. Everything from the little gestures, to their clothes, to their movements, were amazing. There really was no weak actor here. They all were in sync with their roles. Even the trio, who had a hard task of portraying such complex characters had amazing chemistry. My favorite part is that any role can be replaced by any gender and the outcome is still the same. There is no overly masculine or overly feminine characters. They are all gender neutral.
OVERALL:
3 Will Be Free is an amazing series with so much depth to it. Not only in the storyline, but in the characters as well. You don't have to over analyze it like I did, but watch it and enjoy the emotions it brings.

One of my favorite BL dramas
I don't often write reviews, this will be my second ever on MDL, but I felt the need to say a little something because this is one of my favorite series. To start off with I'm going to try and not spoil anything, but i will say I love the fact they gave us a thrupple romance.
As I have been in the same type of relationship, this series definitely caught my attention and heart.
I also love all three main actors/actress from previous series I have watched.
I would definitely recommend giving 3 will be free a watch! The story line is great and there is some action.

I love the polyamory (though I wish the NeoShin angle was given more attention in the present day timeline), and the female characters are SO good. I love getting to see Jennie in a role that explores gender and transness tenderly and respectfully, though I hurt for her character so much. I also love Gunsmile, and Ter is one of my favorite characters in this show.
I think about Miw and Mae all the time, months after I finished this one. Often in BL sort of wraps up neatly enough, with no need for digging in with fanfiction, or thinking about too deeply after. But this show has enough interesting dynamics and plot possibilities for me to think about it after, and to want more of it!
I have conflicting feelings about the ending, but overall it's just a fantastic series. One of my favorites. If you can handle lots of gun violence, please give it a try!

SHIN & HIS CHEST DESERVED BETTER!!!!!!
Watched this series just because Joss Way-ar, who I came across on Instagram, is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My first non-BL Thai series! Told myself that I wasn't going to watch any non-BL Thai series, but the show got good reviews, Joss is too beautiful, he plays a stripper! and I've read that this series had some BL scenes though it isn't categorized as a BL drama, so I had to watch it!Gave up after three episodes as I was bored and the story was quite bland and didn't make much sense as there are way too many plot holes and questionable plot points. Joss was stunning though. His crop tops (which was clearly just a ploy to amp up his sex factor) worked! *heart-eyes emoji* His acting ability is okay but I can tell that he is earnest and hard-working. With training, he could be really good. He does have charisma though and you always feel drawn to him whenever he is on-screen.
And I do love the transgender representation! Jennie! And giving her a love interest and an actual story arc was pretty cool! The bisexual and polyamory representation was pretty cool too!
On a side note, I hope that Joss gets a BL role very soon. Hopefully, due to the domination of BL at the 2020 LINE TV Awards and the huge popularity of 2gether (which I believe to be GMMTV's biggest hit in recent years), GMMTV will produce more BL's and offer Joss an actual BL role (maybe with Luke who's already a good friend) that will catapult him into superstardom! He'd be perfect for an Arthit or Sarawat kind of role!
However, I decided to revisit the series randomly two weeks later and after falling in love with Tay Tawan through his role of Kao as part of BL couple PeteKao and as a exuberant, talkative host of various GMMTV features. I loved the scenes of Joss and Tay. The hottest, best-looking young Thai actor (in my opinion), Joss, with my favourite personality (and who I also find very attractive), Tay! A BL dream! The series was pretty good at times to be honest. It was exciting and entertaining with some touching moments here and there, such as Neo and Shin's friendship. However, there were moments that dragged and the story still didn't make much sense, but it was still a fun watch, And I did fall for Shin (Tay) as many other have also. I also fell for his chest when he started to work for his father lol. To be honest, I was hoping for Shin to make the change from an innocent pushover to a ruthless mafia boss like his father but of course, there wasn't enough time for that change. Ter's death scene did hit me though, especially since he was waiting for Mae's gender reassignment surgery. And the last episode was quite tense and suspenseful. Overall, a fun and entertaining (though shallow) ride.
