Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (2007)

Watch in 2020 for the first time. I thought that a 13 year old Japanese drama won’t be worth it and I’ll be dropping it after one episode BUT SO WORTH THE WATCH! This drama was quiet silly but better that the Korean version. The Korean version was much more on a serious note, were I found this Japanese version to be more enjoyable. I still need to watch the remake, but overall this drama had me rolling a lot, which usually makes up my rating when it comes to dramas. Laughter and Romance - and it had it both. Rewatch - well personally I’M not keen on rewatching ANY dramas or movies, so that rating isn’t due to the drama itself.

This is the only drama that i re-watched over and over again. At first i wasn't so sure about how good this drama is but when i started watching it, i was totally hooked. It is funny...i mean hilarious. It's just perfect if you need some laugh. The cast did well. Esp Nakatsu. I fell inlove with his character. The approach is cartooney which is not surprising at all considering it is Japanese. The music is hell lot of fun. I played the song over and over until my hear and ears will explode.haha. I never get tired of it. It would be perfect (i gave a score of 9) if the romance is developed. but overall it's one of the best!!!!

¿Que la vea otra vez dice? ¡LA AMÉ!

Hana Kimi cuenta la historia de Ashiya Mizuki, una chica que viaja a Japón (ella vive en EEUU) para inscribirse en la misma escuela para hombres a la que asiste Sano Izumi, un ex atleta de salto de altura a quien ella admira mucho, con el objetivo de hacer que él vuelva a saltar.

Si la trama les suena de algo, es porque To The Beautiful You (dorama coreano) está basado en el mismo manga que este jdrama, pero les puedo asegurar que en realidad no tienen nada que ver.

Antes que nada tengo que pedirles que ignoren por completo el póster, porque hace que esta serie parezca súper seria y nada que ver, es de las cosas más locas que vi en mi vida (en el buen sentido). Si bien hay un conflicto principal (el de Mizuki y Sano), cada capítulo cuenta con tramas episódicas protagonizadas por el enorme elenco de personajes secundarios, lo que resulta en que todo el tiempo estén pasando cosas exageradas, graciosas y muy bizarras. Real que los capítulos son un 20% de trama principal (que es principal solo por ser lineal) y un 80% de lo que sea que estén haciendo los personajes secundarios (puntazo a favor, porque los llegué a amar a todos con mucha intensidad jaja).

Otra cosa que quiero destacar es que al principio lo que menos me interesaba era todo lo que se relacionaba con Sano, pero la realidad es que con el correr de los capítulos, el protagonista masculino me terminó de gustar (eso no suele pasarme, así que estoy contenta). Y no hablo del second lead porque quiero que lo conozcan ustedes, es todo lo que está bien en esta vida (al igual que los secundarios, a los que no me voy a cansar de alabar, porque incluso los que no tienen ni nombre se roban algunas escenas con lo que hacen en el fondo jaja).

En fin; una serie dinámica, extremadamente graciosa y cero conflictiva (contra todo pronóstico, siendo del 2007, nada me molestó). Tiene personajes buenísimos que es imposible no querer (los vínculos que forman son hermosos y súper creíbles), una protagonista simpática y un ritmo único. Recomiendo x1000.

DRAMA SOBRE AMIZADE

Esse foi um dos meus primeiros dramas da vida e ainda é a adaptação de um dos meus favoritos mangás.
É o drama ideal para quem tá procurando um enredo sobre amizade, já que temos desde o início, o desenvolvimento da amizade da Mizuki com todos os meninos da escola e a dinâmica entre eles. Claro que tem um certo foco em romance, mas os tema central continua sendo AMIZADE. É muito lindo como a chega da Mizuki muda o Sano e até o final, ele se transforma em outra pessoa (mais agradável).
Menção honrosa: o Nakatsu é o melhor personagem da obra, é impossível não amar ele ou torcer para que a Mizuki tbm se apaixone por ele.

I found this show to be incredibly entertaining in various ways. I have seen this version and the Korean version, so there will be a few comparisons in this review.

The story is based on a manga so the show is not 100% original, but it is very good and was (in my opinion) very well done. While the Korean version focuses more on the sports and love triangle aspects, the Japanese story had more aspects to it, even with less episodes. While sports and romance are a part of this show, there is also an incredible emphasis put on friendship and growing up. I found this to be much more enjoyable. The show also utilizes the "extra characters" much more, showing how each person interacts. Of course, seeing as this is manga based there were over the top and exaggerated moments, but that added to its charm. There are the moments of heartbreak, disappointment and angst that seemed to fill the To the Beautiful You (Korean) and parts of the manga, but Hana Kimi highlighted more of the shenanigans and trouble high school boys and friends get into. I felt more of a draw to continue watching Hana Kimi and liked it more than its Korean counterpart.

The acting is what made this show a stand out for me. I found new favorite actors and was delighted with a couple of my well-known favorites that appeared too. Everyone played their parts so well and interacted with each other in the best manner possible. You can identify with struggles and with the passion they have. Each actor fills their role to the max and is on point completely. Not to mention there is not one ugly person in this show; it's eye-candy galore. No wonder they're known as the "hottie school".

For the amount of music in the show, it was not bad. The opening theme was a lot of fun and gets stuck in your head. I even downloaded it. However, I grew tired of the end theme fairly quick. The sound effects for the show were not bad at all, they were well-suited and did not draw unneeded attention. The few random shows throughout the episodes were fun as well, adding to the humor.

As for rewatching? I would totally rewatch this show and with it's length it wouldn't be hard to do so either. Rewatching would be a very good idea if you want to watch the performance of different actors/actresses each time, especially since it would be just as fun and enjoyable as the first watching.

Overall this was my favorite version of the show and I loved it for many reasons, the only thing that keeps it from having a perfect score is a little bit of a cliffhanger ending. That is supposedly addressed in the special though, so no big deal. I definitely think everyone should give this a show, especially if you have read the manga of seen one of the other versions. Nothing beats the original. :)

PEACH

This is a nice, lighthearted rom com than I never really expected to have a high rating in the end when I finished watching it. So I suppose it met my expectations. It’s one of those really ridiculous shows that are mostly watched as a guilty pleasure (though I probably won’t rewatch this tbh). My only real problems with this drama are very personal to myself and may not bother others, but I just wasn’t all that interested in the side stories where the other classmates engaged in a bunch of different shenanigans together. Those parts got sped up usually but eh. My other real complaint is probably the ending and (without going into too much detail) I didn’t like it mostly because it felt a little incomplete and like it was supposed to have a sequel but it never did. It just felt open and not in a way that seemed like it was on purpose. I think my favorite part about this drama (and the most torturous imo) was the love triangle because I got the biggest sls for the second male lead ever and his little crush on the fl is what made a majority of the drama so enjoyable for me. Even until the very end I never quite jumped on the Sano-Mizuki bandwagon but I think partially it was because of how the drama ended. I think I’ve definitely outgrown school dramas at this point but I think Hana Kimi was an enjoyable enough watch that I’d recommend it to someone who likes silly gender benders and a slice-of-life type of drama.

Uno de los jdramas más graciosos que existen

Al principio me pareció una serie entretenida pero no la estaba maratoneando. Para el quinto capítulo más o menos, empecé a querer ver uno tras otro, tras otro, y cuando me quise dar cuenta había llegado al último, y no quería que se termine. No hubo una razón en particular, sino una suma de cosas: el first lead, que al principio me parecía un ortiva, tiene un cambio muy positivo que hizo que me terminase cayendo súper bien y me empezara a importar su trama; el second lead es todo lo que está bien, es un estallo y aunque al principio no me convencía, es de esos personajes que se hacen querer mucho. Ni hablar de todo el cast secundario, es decir todos los compañeros de campus de Mizuki: ¡este dorama tiene uno de los mejores grupos de personajes secundarios! Me encariñé un montón con ellos.

Si bien hay una trama lineal, que es la historia de Sano y el objetivo de Mizuki de ayudarlo, la serie tiene también un formato episódico, cada capítulo se centra en un asunto que tiene que ver con todo el grupo de compañeros de Mizuki (y el second lead suele estar metido siempre), y esta es definitivamente la mejor parte de la serie, porque estas partes son comedia pura y, por fortuna, tienen tanto tiempo en cámara o incluso más que lo que acontece con la trama principal.

Aparte del humor, la producción es buena, las actuaciones están bien para el tono de la serie y que sea una serie vieja no le afecta en nada, resiste muy bien al tiempo y el final me encantó. Un jdrama sencillo pero hilarante y MUY lindo.

EL PODER DE SHUN OGURI

La premisa de que una chica finge ser un chico y luego los dos protagonistas se enamoran es, la mayor parte del tiempo, muy molesta para mí. Especialmente si se trata de países asiáticos donde las cosas LGBTQ+ todavía son muy tabú y el matrimonio ni siquiera es legal todavía, excepto en Taiwán. La mayoría de las veces me salto adelante y nunca veo este tipo de programas, pero debido al elenco de tantos actores que ya conocía y debido a que el punto principal no tenía relación con el "feminismo" opté por darle una oportunidad a esta serie, y así es; cuando me di cuenta de que realmente me gustaba este drama.

Todavía es muy de la vieja escuela y no sobrevive a los estándares actuales sobre igualdad y respeto hacia las personas LGBTQ+, pero considerando la época e ignorando ese chiste de "No soy homo" que no es nada gracioso, creo que en términos generales sigue siendo un drama bastante divertido y entretenido que te hace apoyar a los dos protagonistas para que terminen juntos desde el principio.

Adorably hilarious

I've watched this twice and I've enjoyed watching it both the times. But I must confess, that the first time I watched it I was a little disappointed that the love life of the leads was not shown much. However rewatching it I really enjoyed watching Toma Ikuta's aka Nakatsu's scenes. They are too hilarious! This made Ikuta one of my favourite actors, also Shun Oguri as Sano is as charismatic as ever. The roles of Mizuki and other characters were also extremely well depicted and the OST by Orange Range always makes one go head banging. All in all I think it's a must watch for a good laugh and good feels.
