Stranger (2017)

Its a very good detective story with great pleasure and would be glad for season 3! Thank u ) !
Separately, I would like to immediately note the unsurpassed performance of Cho Seung Woo in the role of Hwang Shi Mok
He perfectly played the role of a man who had undergone brain surgery and did not experience any emotions afterwards. It’s physically difficult simply because we react in one way or another to some events, details in our lives every day, and even with complete indifference, at least some emotion manifests itself momentarily, throughout the day, and it’s very difficult to maintain the same facial expression, let alone for the whole day or even for a couple of minutes! Or not to react to anger or someone’s attacks, it’s difficult not to respond as emotionally as your opponent in the event of a dispute, despite the fact that you are a prosecutor and “in front of everyone.”
I'm sure it was also a little difficult for the actor to “maintain” the same facial expression throughout the entire series! But he coped with this role perfectly! In the 2nd season, I asked myself the question, “maybe it’s the actor himself who is “without emotions’ that he plays so well .. or plays himself?”), but this was the first time I watched the series with him, so I can’t judge yet! But I really liked his performance. I started watching because
Lee Joon Hyuk thinking that he would play a “good detective” .. and even when I realized that he wasn’t because his character is a “vile prosecutor”, I still didn’t regret watching it).
This detective story may seem boring to some because there are not many events, it is not so dynamic, but this is its feature!
Each episode shows how a person who has undergone brain surgery, who is completely (or partially) deprived of experiencing emotions (as well as feeling the emotions of other people), struggles with that every day, trying to solve problems relying only on his logic and “ 6’feeling”, so to speak... how It was said in the series itself that people who have undergone brain surgery are not always completely devoid of feelings... although it was also shown as sometimes Hwang Shi Mok
could not understand when people talked to him about “feeling angry/embarrassed/embarrassed.”.. he simply did not understand what it was and how it was, while those around him did not understand him, considering him strange.. (except for those who knew about his past).
What's amazing about Hwang Shi Mok's character
He could clearly see when the suspect was lying or hiding something (which suggests that he still had empathy after the operation) and he solved all the cases better than other prosecutors and investigators. He was always one step ahead.
This series (like all cinema in principle) is useful because you can better learn to understand people, understand that behind every facial expression there can be a lot of different feelings hidden, since people express their feelings differently in the same circumstances.. it’s interesting to watch the detective’s thoughts and his analysis of those around him in an attempt to find the truth.. it shows a deep psychological analysis of individual characters, their actions, motive.. I love it, I really liked it!))
I’ll make a special note about the music! It was chosen just perfectly and is very compatible with the theme of the series itself and the events developing in it

I'm so late in the game. Sorry, I know I should write a review when I'm done watching, But this drama is worth to get high rating even for just for the six episode I've watched. What make this drama is feels refreshing experience for me compare to any other show with similar premise. Heck, (I even rate this drama better than signal) for the fact this drama is meliticulously detail. I'm in awe of how structurally sound it's . What make it interesting each case is kind of related and can't be identified by face value. , the process of uncovering the truth is brutally realistic compare  to any regular korean drama procedural I've seen, that's why it take really long to get to the point. THe protagonist is a genius, IMO, but it doesn't give you the lisence to easily can judge human demeanor to commit a crime that easily, even with all clues pointing out to certain person, your judgement can be misleading. It's also interesting there is a possible alternative you also can become one of the culprit with all the evidence pointing out at you, can yourself also can be trust? Who is your friend? who is your enemy? Who is lying and who is telling the truth?   This kind of issue keep me glued to the screen. It's also allow us the viewers know more about our suspect and witness by digging them deeper.  The show is treat us as watchers  an intellegent viewers so they let us judge if what they are showing is what we get. And It's a plus in my book.

This drama is hands down SUPERIOR to anything out of 2017. The acting, direction, script were brilliant.
Story: Corruption, legal maneuvers with murder. Not a new tale, just well told modern re-enactment.
Acting: The male&female lead set the bar for the younger generations for quality acting - what it looks and feels like. All characters were well thought through and delivered. Excellent
Music: well done -
RW: When drama landscape has too much bubble-gum drama possibly. Too many more to view.

This is adult drama. If looking for riveting, just enough eps, thought-provoking, quality acting, no rom, and pure edge of seat, this must be on your list.

Forest of secrets indeed

This show got me back into K dramas after a long hiatus after college. I was tired of watching the usual romcoms and found this one a refreshing departure from what I had been used to seeing. From the outset, the story seems to be a straightforward murder mystery, but as you keep watching, you realize soon that the web being spun if far more complicated. I found myself delightfully second guessing characters and trying to figure out who everything was connected right up until the thrilling climax.

The talented cast give as a whole grounded and nuanced performances, fittingly restrained (for the most part) for the darker tone of the series overall. But it's not a downer of a story; throughout the whole drama, you can't help but root for Hwang Si-Mok, as he charges ahead in search of the truth.

That was some STORY

I'm a fan of mystery thriller dramas since I can remember. There are stories which infuses confusion and questions. There are some which drags everything to the very end only to give a plot twist that's not even necessarily explains the rest 15 episodes waste of time. There are some which starts with a gripping storytelling but eventually falls apart in the midway or can't live up to it's expectations by a sloppy ending. Hear me out. Stranger comes under none of this. Prosecution dramas are hard to watch. It needs patience, brain to understand what's going on and memory to remember the hints and incidents that'd eventually make you aware of the scene that's happening. It's boring most of the times. But Stranger is the best drama I've seen so far in the mystery and law genre. There is not a single line wasted, not a single scene that would bore you, not a single character that doesn't have an appeal to the storyline. What makes this the best is the pace of storytelling and how amazingly it is told. "Who's right, who's wrong?" This question was answered so brilliantly in the last episode that I was left stunned.
What an AMAZING ACTOR the main lead was. Both the female leads were excellently written. The ending theme music needs to be appreciated too. The poster appealed to me and it really lived up to it. I'd rewatch it if I ever forget about it

MASTERPIECE! Excellent Story, Blending excellent characterization, lots of twists.

Stranger is the drama for you if you thrive on law-crime-thriller genres.

PLOT SET-UP, A VERY WELL EXECUTED WITH THRILLING AND SUSPENSE ASPECTS :-

A murder turns out to be more complex and puzzling than they initially thought, unravelling a whole national conspiracy behind the scenes. Viewers might find themselves questioning every character’s motives and allegiance while trying to find the real culprit. Not easy to deal with Puzzle.

Plot twists were properly executed, every second the suspense was maintained until the very end, the plot accelerated forward continuously, and the ending pulled more toward realistically than it did toward a perfect cliffhanger ending for season 2.

A amazingly challenging plotline that had me captivated and invested in the story from the start. I kept trying to figure out who the culprit was, but I couldn't. This is a prime example of those stories where you have to pay close attention or you'll become interconnected with the story and end up in the web of events and confused. AMAZING . MASTERPIECE

MUST WATCH!!

I enjoy this slow burn drama even though it seems long and wordy but the story is made when we watch and want to find out how it will be?
Unlike other dramas correct me if something is wrong, maybe this can be called the reality in the life of an investigator prosecutor how to solve many problems and how it is resolved similar to reality as in the real world.
I like how the main actors act and the supporting players who make me suspicious of all of them and many unexpected plot twists sometimes make me confused and ask questions?
Why didn't I think of this?
And what have I missed?
Watching this must be really focused or you will miss the point.

Eu nunca fui de escrever resenha aqui por causa da vergonha, sempre deixo escrito pra mim mesma em notas, mas como este é O DORAMA do século, eu acho que vale a pena quebrar essa insegurança pra começar a escrever um pouco do que eu (algo bem particular) acho de cada dorama que assisto, então vamos lá.

TALVEZ TENHA UM POUCO DE SPOILER, então quem não tiver interesse, é só parar de ler por aqui.

Comecei o dorama acreditando que seria só mais um de política ou suspense, não sei exatamente, comecei sem interesse nenhum, até porque na maioria das minha escolhas, estão sempre os doramas mais comentados do momento ou doramas que contém um elenco impecável, como Vagabund, por exemplo, então eu fui pega de surpresa em um primeiro momento, no qual me deparei com uma atuação excelente do Jo Seung Woo e uma narrativa incrivelmente fascinante, resumida em: NÃO POSSO TIRAR OS OLHOS DESSA SÉRIE POR NENHUM SEGUNDO. Ao final, quando você chega no episódio 15, ele é tão envolvedor que chega a passar rapidamente, ou seja, quando você vê, você terminou o dorama e ainda não sabe o que fazer da vida, por que de verdade? Vai ser raro encontrar outra trama tão boa quanto esta. A maioria das minhas notas foram 10, exceto a última, mas ela tem uma explicação, talvez a história seja um pouco complexa demais, o que requer bastante atenção, isso é bom? É ótimo, mas às vezes era preciso pensar demais pra conseguir acompanhar a mesma linha de raciocínio dos promotores ou dos delegados que investigavam cada caso, já falando um pouco sobre a história em si, é incrível ver como tudo ao longo dos episódios vão sendo esclarecidos de forma natural, deu pra perceber que não rolou aquela coisa forçada que sempre acontece nos doramas, quando o diretor enrola e torna a história repetitiva e maçante. Incrivelmente, o diretor de Stranger, conseguiu desvendar definitivamente tudo apenas nos últimos minutos de série e mesmo que rapidamente, mostrou a vida do personagem Hwang Shi Mok, após sua transferência para outra cidade, e ali, eles já deixaram um spoiler, tipo "volta pra cá, porque você vai fazer parte da equipe especial de investigação". E aí quando fui pesquisar sobre Jo Seung Woo e Bae Doo Na (não falei dela ainda, mas QUE ATRIZ É ESSA? Linda!!!!) me deparei em sua linha do tempo com Stranger 2, se sofri? Sofri demais, e com certeza não vejo a hora de chegar janeiro para que eu possa me deliciar com essa maravilha.
Sem mais delongas, eu queria falar que é um dorama que vale muito a pena assistir, prende muito a sua atenção, a atuação de cada um foi incrível, eu acho que o elenco não poderia ser substituído por ninguém, parece que foram escolhidos a dedo para cada personagem (nota mil para essa escolha), a história é envolvente (e até mesmo comovente algumas vezes), há um romance soft digamos assim, nada agressivo e nem muito clichê, tudo na dose certa, mesmo que eu ainda tenha esperado por um beijo, ou algo mais doce entre os personagens principais, entretanto nada me decepcionou quanto a isso, então por isso, assistam, e mais, não assistam só uma vez, assistam duas, três, mil vezes, assim como eu farei. :D
