Mr Perfect was not perfect, but was fun

The tone was set for this movie when the Korean assistance who was not proficient in English was told that she could speak Korean and he would speak English, because he understands Korean. The voice in my head said, “Yeah, but will she understand every English sentence he speaks?

Anyway, the proper tittle for the movie is ‘Seducing Mr Perfect’ and it was a cute cliché movie that featured multitalented stars of that time in 2006. ‘Seducing Mr Perfect’ is not a ground breaking movie, nor is the movie about seducing anyone. The term seducing is used in an outdated way. In updated English, this movie could have been called Catching Mr Right.

Seducing Mr Perfect (2006) stars Korean actress Uhm Jung-hwa (Dr Cha) and Korean American actor Daniel Henney (Hawaii Five O, NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds: Beyond the Boarder). These two make a really cute couple, so the movie is not a total waste of time. I even enjoyed it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of cliche romance movies. But this one... seemed to be a little too much for me. I spent 1 hour and a half, smiling like an idiot while my fingers curled up from cringing. I liked it though, but as I said, it was too cheesy. I’m not really sure if it’s because of the difference in the language the main leads speak, or just because of the whole story in general. Daniel Henney was unexplainably hot, but his acting here on this movie may seem a little stiff in my opinion.

The story is SUPER CLICHE. You know what’s going to happen next. The typical CEO falls in love with his assistant kind of story. Even though it’s really predictable, really cheesy, the languages bother me sometimes, the acting wasn’t that great either, I’m super in love with the music. That’s one of the reasons that made me stay throughout the whole movie.

Overall, an 7.5/10. Super cute but on the other hand, cheesy and predictable. If you can handle the overflowing amount of fluff and a hint of angst, this is for you!

One of the worst movies I've ever seen

I never write reviews, but this movie made me SO mad that I decided to write one. What. The. Actual. Frack.

Sexist, misogynistic, TOXIC, and the dialogue was HORRENDOUS. This movie may have been popular at the time of release, but it definitely does not stand the test of time. I'm almost embarrassed that I watched this.
Not to mention the very weird choice to have both leads converse in two different languages, whereas Daniel Henney speaks Korean very well, and could have learned to act in that language with no problem.

I'm not even going to talk about the Pocahontas comments.

this is probably my favourite k-movie! it's romantic, it's sweet, it's cliché (in a positive way) and I can watch it over and over again. the actors fit the story perfectly, there cannot possibly be a beter cast! what I also loved was that the movie was both in english and korean, it might attract a wider audience. seducing mr perfect might not be the best movie out there but it has everything that I like: it's easy to watch, has a romantic story + great kissing scenes, is funny at times and makes me feel all soft ahaha. the music is also great, especially the song in the last scene...

if you want to watch a romantic comedy that is kind of cliché but also has some really cute scenes, seducing mr perfect is the one you're looking for!!

Es una película preciosa, completamente recomendable. MUY MUY GRACIOSA.

Desde el momento que se ven, no pude dejar de reírme, cuando ella se da cuenta que él entendía por completo coreano y que aparte sabe que ella fingió no saber hablar inglés para escaparse de lo que hizo. Luego cuando él le dice que es patética, por arrastrarse detrás de los hombres y ella empieza con todo su plan de hacerle cambiar de opinión... empieza la comedia. Jajajaja, lo del almuerzo fue epic. Y lo de su cita a ciegas no podía dejar de reírme. Son una pareja fresca, encantadora, con mucha química. El Actor está BUENÍSIMO :kuku:es completamente buceable. Y sus gestos... asdf :omg<3:

En fin. Tiene un final muy romántico, y menos mal que la Jennifer esa se quedó esperando. Me reí mucho con la traducción del hermano de ella. Él dijo que no se casaría con ella "TODAVÍA" y el hermano lo tradujo sin esa importante palabra. Jajajaja.

Unique in one Character Speaks English and Others Answer in Korean - predictable yet cute

8/10 is my rating. This is a 107 minute South Korean romantic comedy movie that goes also by an alternate title "Seducing Mr. Robinson". It was released in 2006 and is unique in one character speaks mostly English throughout the movie while others speak back to him in Korean.

Min-June (Uhm Jung-hwa) is a hopeless romantic who gives all her heart to each relationship only to be hurt when the guys reject her. On the eve of her latest break up she stumbles into traffic and is hit, ironically, by a man that turns out to be her new boss. When she explains why she was not paying attention, Robin Heiden (Daniel Henley) is full of advice on the game of love which he sees as a win or lose power struggle between the couple. Desperate to change the outcome of her relationships Min-june originally listens to Robin until she decides that his methods are not for her.

Spoiler Alert ** I liked the unique quality of him speaking English and her, and others, speaking South Korean. It was cute if predictable. As short as it was there was little time for much depth to the story. It reminded me of the United States movie "He's Just Not That Into You". I forgot I had seen this actress in "Witch's Romance" and really liked her in that. If your expectations are not too high, and you are okay with little complexity or character development, it is good for what it is.

I watched this good movie long time ago and often rewatch it. Who does not know Daniel Henney. He is a good actor in the abc series of CMBB and Criminal Minds. Seducing Mr. Perfect was my first crush on the acting of Daniel Henney. The story is romantic and funny.

Robin Heiden and Min Joon are a perfect couple.
Robin is a Harvard graduate boss, single, speaks 5 languages, a CEO candidate and works temporary in Seoul, he is the boss who is cynical with love.

Min Joon is a staff appointed as Robin's assistant, she believes in true love and is challenged to make this cynical boss fall in love with her.

This film is worth watching, you will smile and laugh and feel romantic in the same time, it’s like watching a good movie with a carton of popcorn & coke and you leave the cinema bench with satisfaction and happily go home.
Sometimes on my gloomy days I watched this film again, and it really made my day.

What the heck did I just watch????

The romance is so thin here...particularly the resolution. And how strange was it to watch the male speak to everyone in English when he's surrounded by Koreans speaking their native tongue? Bizarre! Either choose another actor or pick a language lane!

So weird. I love this trope which is why I watched in the first place, but this didn't cut it for me. I was happy it was less than 2 hours which made it a quick binge, but there were so many flaws here.

Perhaps it just didn't age well. The "Pocahantas" comment comes to mind as well as others. I do think the FL is a good actress (can't say the same for the ML based on this anyway), but as a woman in the corporate world she made so many professional and personal faux pas it's unbelievable. (This fault lay in the writing and not the acting)
