Amanti della Luna: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016)

The New Yoshiwara pleasure district, in the twilight years of the Edo Period. Popular prostitute Asagiri will soon be freed from her indentured service. One day at a local festival, she meets young artisan Hanjiro who changes her destiny. Asagiri feels love for the first time in her life, but the history involving Hanjiro's client leads to tragic circumstances.

This drama is a Historical drama and it's also starring Lee Joon-gi as the 4th Prince Wang So.

In every lifetime, they pulled a Hae Soo - Wang So card. Book-wise, they followed most of it, if not all, BYT THEY DIDN'T INCLUDE THE SPECIAL CHAPS. It's also similar with SHR in a sense that it it gut-wrenchingly open-ended. As someone who is a sucker for tragic endings, this is my cup of tea although it made me cuss multiple time upon first time viewing it. AND IT WAS DURING EXAM SZN!!! That's all I hope you have fun watching these two! mwah!

The bad boy image of the 4th prince in Moon Livers is similar to Qinyue. Both characters are dark and are competing against the “white knight” to win the heart of the girl.

Both take place in Goryeo and have a love story. Hong Jong Hyun plays a main charater in both. In SHR, he plays an evil brother plotting to take the throne. TKL, he plays Crown Prince's best friend. The locations in both shows are extremely beautiful. Lee Joon Gi and Siwan's characters fall in love with the female leads who care for them. Lee Ji Eun (IU) and Yoona's characters go through many hardships.

When a total eclipse of the sun takes place, Go Ha Jin is transported back in time to the start of the Goryeo Dynasty of Korea during King Taejo's rule. She wakes up in the body of the 16-year-old Hae Soo and finds herself living in the house of the 8th Prince Wang Wook, who is married to Hae Soo's cousin. She soon befriends several of the princes and meets the ostracized 4th Prince, Wang So. Although knowing she should not get involved in palace intrigues over the succession to the throne, she inadvertently becomes a pawn in the struggle, as several of the Princes fall in love with her.

Almost the same storyline. Time travel, princes..etc but moon lovers seems to have a open ending. This one is more happy ending comparing to moon lovers but moon lover got better ost.

Modern person somehow went back into historical time. One have to adapt to the old time life style. All the plot, hate, jealousy, turbulence. Great acting, great production and great cinematography.

Similar love story, deep, intense, devoted emotions, painful life stories, plots at the palace, always someone for their lives, tragic end. Moves you until you cry a river. Extraordinary performance of the actors.

It's the korean remake of Scarlet Heart originally written by Tong Hua, anyone wants to know what might the thai adaptation look like can try this one or if anyone liked the thai version should try this

Autumn Tale isn't a period drama, but there are similarities:

Both are beautiful, heartbreaking love stories. I cried the most watching these two love triangles (or other rectangular). Both are tragedies.

Story wise they're not very similar, but they are both historical dramas.
Battle of Changsha shows more historical elements, while Scarlet heart is more emotional.
They're both dramas that will take you on a ride of emotions.
Although in scarlet heart there is no War; it shows the mistreatment the fourth prince faced and how he climbed his way to the throne
