first episode is weird but intreging

“we were the ones who opened the door and let the monster in” - Moo Yeol - as soon as he said that my suspicion of the psychologist being the killer has been firmly implanted.

uhuhu

This episode made me somewhat anxious. I wonder who the committer is because it actually could be anyone of them. None of the persons involved seems to be sturdy. But I kind of suspect Park Moo Yul. Maybe because he seems (!) to be the "nicest" one of them and the one most eager to find out who the culprit is.He si the one who got the ball rolling.

What I liked the most was the letter. I liked the way the culprit put his threats (or whatever) onto paper. It's somehow really poetic and I liked reading/listening to it.

I am definitely looking forward to the next episode.

Seven letters, Eight sins

This is without doubt my cup of tea and don’t worry; I am already blaming myself for not starting it sooner. Even though I am not fully involved with it yet, it does seem like a highly interesting drama to me.

So the start was alright, there’s mystery that’s bound to be solved in the eight days that the students are going to spend in the high school. There’s a monster, someone who sent disturbing letters to the lonely students who are going to stay in the dorms during the holidays. There’s a teacher, seven student, apparently another one in the hiding (the red head rock dude) and a man who got an accident and was let in the high school, he claims that he’s a psychologist but he’s suspicious as hell. Moo Yeol said at the end of the episode: “we were the ones who opened the door and let the monster in”, maybe that’s a way to make the audience think that the psychological doctor is the monster but if that’s it then it would be too easy. I rather not jump into conclusions ever since the first episode.

Eun Seung tried to commit suicide; let’s see what will happen next.

Great Start.

Really interesting beginning. I hope this won't get too scary for me, since I'm already watching it in daylight. I'm so easily scared. Dx

I like the characters, music and interactions. I think this is going to be interesting.

Fascinating start.

I'm so intrigued to see where this story is going after only watching one episode. It's introduced a lot of pieces, but I'm still not sure how they all connect just yet. Even the premise of the high school alone is fascinating. It's a little slow to start, but I think that's just in order to capture the feeling of isolation that is ever-present at the school. Eery, creepy and interesting. Will definitely keep watching.

Impressive directing

I've wanted to watch this drama for some time after seeing a lot of positive reviews, and I cannot say I was disappointed. It is truly impressive. It is totally unlike any other Kdrama I've seen and that is a compliment. But all of the plot uniqueness aside, what is most astounding is the way it looks. It is a beautiful show!

I've only seen 2 episodes but it looks like an extended critically acclaimed arthouse film. Each scene is perfectly framed to be both meaningful and beautiful. The plot thus far and the acting are both top notch -- the plot is suspenseful and they are doling out the details at just the right pace, and the acting fits the overall mood of the show.

I hope this show keeps with its beautiful visuals and pitch perfect eeriness because even if the plot ends up having weaknesses those elements are enough to keep me watching with anticipation. Also, the soundtrack features AC/DC's Back in Black and an Arcade Fire song, so I've also declared it my favorite ever Kdrama soundtrack.

Concretely laid out pyschological confrontations

A very good start, laying out the pieces and how each characters are meant to function in the overall scheme of things. It also provides gentle hints as to the final psychological showdown without dissuading you from the possible obvious. I liked the tone and pacing, even the music is something of note. The only thing I didn't like is how Yoon Su's monster in the corner was used as a crutch in the narrative. I mean Park Moo Yeul is supposed to be a genius, but why would he have narrowed on Yoon Su's hallucinatory monster for investigating their possible villain. So, I just think it's all meant to lead to the first victim anyway but the choice of it just mars what could have been a sleek psychological thriller.

Exciting!

Very exciting - the synopsis sounded thrilling but I was afraid the story might be a little dragging due to its length (eight episodes)- but I was mistaken!
I like how all characters are unique in a way and seem to have a solid background story/motive that is likely to get clearer and when the drama gets older.

So far: "White Christmas" left me sitting in anticipation what's going to happen next, plus super music and super cast.
